Good overview for adults too.

An excellent guide to raptor identification (with pictures and silhouettes) and some basics about behavior and the mechanics of flight and eyesight. Although it is written for children adults will find the charts and much of the information to be useful.

I read this because I was curious to see what it said about mobbing (when smaller birds harry a raptor to try to get it to leave the area). It explains what it is, but not much more than that.

I lie when I say mostly read as I have not gotten this back from the nature-loving 11 year old who is interested in birds of prey since a pair of hawks, quite large, routinely circle our air space.
Obviously, a hit, and a definate purchase for HCL.
