The quest for the Holy Grail is one of the most enduring spiritual mysteries in the Western esoteric tradition. In a unique exploration of this profound set of stories, world-renowned Arthurian expert John Matthews offers a new and powerful way of using the Grail stories to help come to terms with our own experience of the wounded soul, whether the hurt has occurred through childhood, painful relationships, bereavement, accident or loss of faith. Based on the author's intensive research and work in the field of myth, Healing the Wounded King uses a mixture of new and tried methods to demonstrate how working with archetypal stories can bring about healing and a new focus within the individual.
John Matthews is an historian, folklorist and author. He has been a full time writer since 1980 and has produced over ninety books on the Arthurian Legends and Grail Studies, as well as short stories and a volume of poetry. He has devoted much of the past thirty years to the study of Arthurian Traditions and myth in general. His best known and most widely read works are ‘Pirates’ (Carlton/Atheneum), No 1 children’s book on the New York Times Review best-seller list for 22 weeks in 2006, ‘The Grail, Quest for Eternal Life’ (Thames & Hudson, 1981) ‘The Encyclopaedia of Celtic Wisdom’ (Element, 1994) and ‘The Winter Solstice’ (Quest Books, 1999) which won the Benjamin Franklin Award for that year. His book ‘Celtic Warrior Chiefs’ was a New York Public Library recommended title for young people.
Dude, I get it. You've written a sizable forest's worth of books on the Holy Grail. Dan Brown jacked your schtick and made millions. It's tough. But at a certain extent, at some point, humanity must learn that
METAPHOR =/= REALITY.
Live your life. Don't seek meaning in the past. Or in the future. The moment is all that exists. Once you understand this, happiness is eternal because it is always present. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar.
