(Publisher's Note: This book was previously released by the author writing under the pen name Lesli Richardson. It has been edited for re-release.)
Can you find Heaven on Earth in the arms of an archdemon? Bet your soul on it.
Kalyani Martin is a virginal preacher's daughter desperate to escape her father's oppressive home. That doesn't mean she's not a good girl. Waiting for Mr. Right is part of Kal's plans, and that doesn't include the hunky but standoffish Will Hellenboek.
Will Hellenboek co-hosts the wildly successful Otherworlds ghost hunting show with his goofball cousin, Aidan Faust. Will's instant attraction to Kal puts a severe crimp in his plans to die. All he wants to do is be out of pain and end his grief following his wife's murder twenty-five years earlier. If he falls for Kal, it jeopardizes everything he's suffered while waiting for release from his tortured life.
Ryan Ausar's job as head of the Firm is to protect the Earth and its inhabitants. Unfortunately, his strongest archdemon, Will, refuses to return to work. Therefore, desperate times call for desperate measures. Ryan also holds a secret that, if revealed, would devastate Will and Aidan, the men he once called brothers.
With lives on the line, Kal, Will, and Ryan must choose to give up the things they most hold dear. Can Kal turn her back on everything she knows and help heal a hellishly hunky archdemon's heart?
Contains soul-melting archdemon sex, willing virgin deflowering, and gratuitous snark.
Content Warning: Contains explicit scenes of m/f sex and coarse language.
Lesli Richardson is the writer behind the curtain of her better-known and more prolific USA Today Bestselling Author pen name, Tymber Dalton (her "wild child" side). She lives in the Tampa Bay region of Florida with her spouse and too many pets of various species. When she's not playing D&D with her friends or shooting skeet, she's a part-time Viking shield-maiden in training, among other pursuits. The two-time EPIC award winner is also the author of over two hundred and fifty books and counting.
She lives in her own little world, but it's okay, because they all know her there.
She also loves to hear from readers! Please check out her website for links, and to sign up for updates to keep abreast of the latest news, snarkage, and releases. There you'll also find reading order lists, and more information about her different series.
Why have I never read this story before? After reading the Triple Trouble series and seeing Ryan Ausar appearing over and over, I couldn't contain my curiosity. Who is this Ryan and what is his story? Why does he seem so sad? When the opportunity to pick up this series occurred, I snapped it up. With the story now published under Ms. Dalton instead of one of her other alter egos, this story totally hits my radar and I am in love with Ryan.
This story is not specifically about Ryan, yet it feels as if it is. The focus is on Kalyani Martin who is a preacher's kid. There are two ways a PK can go - either totally crazy rebellious or totally goodie two shoes. Kalyani aka Kal is the latter. She isn't holier than thou. She is a sweet kind hearted female who wants to live her life instead of being ordered to do what her father wants. She is following her dream to become a TV show producer. When the chance to work on a set for a cable company appears for her in Florida, she quickly packs her bags and heads down there from Ohio. Seriously though, who wants to live in Ohio? (Go BLUE! Boo to the Buckeyes!) I digress.
Kal's excitement for her new job is crushed when the main star clearly tells her he doesn't want her on the show or anywhere near him. Will Hellenboek is a jerk of the highest order. His treatment of Kal is hostile and completely unprofessional. Will has his reasons and sadly enough, in the real world his behaviour is common and the reasons are not as tragic as Will's reasons.
Ms. Dalton does a great job of setting up the conflict and developing the characters. The reader learns quite a bit about Will, Kal and Ryan. Even the secondary character, Aidan Faust, part of the triumvirate is well fleshed out. What pulls me in and is thought provoking is the world building. For those who are strong Christians, this story may be a bit too blasphemous. If this was even a couple of centuries ago, Ms. Dalton would have most likely been considered a heretic and burned at the stake as a witch. For those who find it amusing to reinterpret Heaven and Hell with a slightly Greek gods twist, this world works out well.
What really compels me to read on is Ryan's tragic past. This first book plants the seed of what happened and it does not look good. The torturous yearning for love lost and a love kept away is heartbreaking. An unending mourning where one cannot move on is devastating. Ms. Dalton wrings out the sorrowful emotions in this story. I want to immediately read the next book in the series. This paranormal romance is recommended for those who enjoy star-crossed lovers with an angst filled twist.
In this series demons aren't evil, just in charge. This is a good first book in the series it runs from sweet to spicy and has its emotional moments. I could not put it down.
Okay, it's been a week since I finished this. Whoops. I should never let that much time pass before I do a review, so this review isn't going to be as good as it should be.
This book was okay.
It felt very repetitive at times. Oh okay, most of the book was a rinse and repeat cycle.
Also, the author was trying to be subtle. She was about as subtle as a brick.
Of course Adian was a closeted gay. Because he was obsessed with fashion (bad though it might have been). To be honest, I actually started getting offended whenever Adain and his gay status was brought up. And it was obvious pretty much from the start.
Grab this during Bookstrand time machine sale months ago and finally has the time to read it. Ms. Dalton, it seems that the series has not been completed?? And i’m dyinggggggg to see the end and finality of it since I’m definitely hooked! Long story short i think “why choose so threesone it is” ending will be the best for Kal,Will and Ryan since Ryan deserves his own happy ending ☹️😭
I absolutely love Tymber Dalton’s writing and books, but this story I had a super hard time relating to and getting into the story or characters, something about the story felt off and not well thought out.
This series of books (Good Will Ghost Hunting) by Lesli Richardson (pen name for Tymber Dalton) are being republished by Captiva Press under Tymber Dalton's name. I am thrilled they are being republished. First off I may not of heard of them otherwise and most importantly The Good Will Ghost Hunting Series is in one word AWESOME!
A different take on demons and I loved it. Ms. Dalton has a gift for making her characters come to life and she certainly accomplished that in this book. It is best to read the books in order because each one starts off where the last one ended.
According to Tymber Dalton's website there are several more books planned in this series. I am really looking forward to reading them. Although Ms. Dalton does write quite a bit of erotica, this series is not. It is adult paranormal romance... possibly could be classified as urban fantasy (but more PNR).
This book is one of my particular favorites. There's not really anything I could add to the book summary. I think unique and interesting take on the role of demons throughout time. The series is M/F but by the 2nd book there is a M/M relationship with one of the primary supporting characters. I eagerly keep tabs on the series to find when the next books become available.
**update** The series abruptly disappeared from Lyrical Press and is now been edited and re-released by Captiva Press (Placida Publishing. You can find it at: Good Will Ghost Hunting: Demon Seed (Book One)t
Not the first time I've encountered this take ("demons" are just powerful beings in charge of a particular reality who have been labeled "evil" by beings from a competing reality whose PR has fared better in modern times) but I can't remember the last time it was pushed quite this heavily. I would probably advise most Christians, particularly Baptists, to give this one a pass.
Don't worry, you aren't exactly missing any deathless prose or original plotting, anyway.
I first read this book when it was written under the name Lesi Richardson. Somehow I lost my copy but I love this series so much I bought it again under Tymber Dalton's name. Love, love, love it!! I just wish the rest of the series was closer to being released.
