This is a transcribed diary of one of the main constables (policemen) and his journey from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City. His insight runs more like Moses and the Israelites wandering for forty years and experiences the same grumblings. Good if you are a history buff for that era. Vol. 1 of 2.

He's my husbands great-great-great grandfather. Interesting to us for that very reason. 2 volumes. He was a military leader, LDS/Mormon, body guard to Joseph Smith Jr., Chief of Police in Nauvoo, IL, and close friend of Brigham Young. (I Love how the young photo of Hosea looks so much like my husbands uncle Marwood!)
