There's a little sinner in the heart of every saint
Everyone in Heyday loves Kieran McClintock. He is the golden boy, beloved son of the town's richest man, and he lives up to his saintly reputation. Only one person begs to differ.
Claire Strickland's life was ruined by Kieran, and she's not about to forgive him—not even when she discovers that she's pregnant with his baby.
Kieran, Bryce and Tyler: Three brothers with different mothers—brought together by their father's last act. The town of Heyday will never be the same—and neither will they.
Since the day Harlequin bought her first novel, Kathleen has published more than 30 titles with them- everything from hot, sexy contemporaries to dark, brooding suspense. Read in more than 30 countries and 29 languages, she's a five-time finalist for the prestigious RWA RITA Award, a winner of the Maggie Award, and a three-time finalist for Romantic Times' Reviewer's Choice.
Kathleen comes from a family of writers, poets, and journalists- though she may be the one shameless romantic in the bunch. A true Cancer, she values home and family above everything and wouldn't dream of ditching a single friend, memory, gift, or love letter. Consequently, her office is a mess, full of books, colored cut glass, photo albums, Madame Alexander dolls, and a cockatiel who whistles the theme from "The X Files." She is addicted to Mozart and Elvis, Dancing With the Stars, Dorothy Dunnett novels, and sugar-free Popsicles.
I have mixed feelings about this one but it was a solid read. The H was hard to work out and our h had had a REALLY sucky go of it. Shes been crushing on the H for years and since her parents are dead she has also helped raise her brother who is in high school. H is the coach of the football team and lil bro is the star quarterback and the H and h are just starting down the dating road. Also he is the son of the towns owner and local golden boy while shes just "normal" Anyhoo lil brother winds up dead and the h tears the H a new one and blames him for what happens. She refuses to have anything to do with him and moves away from town but she is totally depressed and doesn't really enjoy life because everyone she loves is gone. H comes along and I'm still confused to how they end up bumping uglies and she ends up preggers - naturally!!! Anyway... more angst shes an old fashioned gal who wants to be married to her childs father even though she doesn't really like him and he agrees. Theres secrets and cover ups and town angst but in the end it wasn't the H's fault the lil bro died - although he is certainly not blameless. In the real world I just don't think he would get off scott free like he did certainly not in the British Education system - catching a minor with alcohol is a massive safeguarding issue and would require a meeting with parents/guardians NOT don't do it again or else! I also found the secondary character/storyline just too much. As well as being a manipulative not nice person she crossed the line creeping on the schoolkid. I think we were supposed to feel a bit sorry for her because of her ex but she just gave me way too bad vibes.
