I read this while studying for the FSO exam. It's a good top-level overview of U.S. history up thru reconstruction. Not a lot of detail here, but it's a good summary of lots of topics. I learned stuff that was left out of my public-school eduction, and refreshed my memory on a lot of other topics.

Not recommended for people who want a nice historical narrative, but good for people wanting a quick summary.

I love these books. It helps make lessons through the literature. It is done in a humorous and classroom setting. I feel that the students can relate to the book since it is about learning in a classroom just like them.
