I loved the great words of wisdom, affirmations, and quotes in this gem of a book. I prefer to read inspirational books that are more spiritual and less religious and this book was just that. This book's ideologies of life are similar to that of Louise Hay and The Secret and I've enjoyed this book and Louise Hay's books the best. As the other reviewer said, if you are in a rut or going through a tough time, this book and its message will inspire you to not give up and reach for your dreams!

I. Have missed so much abundance by not being aware of the beauty that God has provided for his people. I will stop and see and experience all that he has given us. I am sorry for the abundance I took for granted. For the little things as well as the big things, the many gifts he's presented to us. Forgive me father, I will be attentive from now on.

I went back and forth on whether to give this book 3 or 4 stars. There are some doctrinal things I disagree with in this book.

“No matter what name you give to God – the Life Force, the I Am, the Great Mystery, the Good Orderly Direction of the Universal Flow, the Christ Consciousness, the Atman, the Buddha Nature – this Presence is with you at all times, a source you can draw upon and that is part of your very nature.” (location 2409)

I disagree. I think it does matter what you call God. It matters what God you believe in. There is only One true God.

There are a lot of good quotes, however, quotes from notable people. And thoughts that are based on universal truths. Because of this, and because Abundance is my word for 2016 and 2017, I kept on reading.

“Abundance is... the face of someone who has survived the storms of life with faith and gratitude.” (location 456)

“Celebrating abundance is the best antidote I know of for fear: fear that whispers there won't be enough for tomorrow, fear that hisses “things will never improve.” fear that dominates and tortures, telling you that you're helpless and God has forgotten you. Don't believe it.” (location 610)

“No matter what your story, no matter what your past limitations, no matter what mountains must be moved, you have no less potential than any other human being on earth to become the person God created you to be.” (location 1165)

And my favorite quote...
“Dare to dream, for you are wiser than you yet know. Dare to do, for you are more capable than you yet believe.” (location 1675)

Unfortunately, I could not find a prompt this book would fulfill. This is the main reason I am counting books for more than one prompt. I want time to read books books that don't fit prompts and I don't feel like I am cheating because there are no rules. There is a lot of leeway with this challenge. It is one reason I MAY do the challenge again next year. Also, my goal is to read 52 books this year and that is the total number of prompts. If I read one book for each prompt I would be reading 52 books.

A simple book of quotations and statements that motivate the reader towards appreciating the grandeur of life. A book that would bring one to a feeling that life is just a brief journey which needs to be enjoyed to the fullest extent instead of brooding over the so-called griefs and sorrows. One gets to learn about different kinds of appreciating life and its components through its chapters, enlisting The Art of Abundance, The Art of Encouragement and the Art of Simplicity.

Positives: A beautiful collection of some of the most famous quotes of eminent personalities across the world. Also, an exhaustive list of inspirational books that can be referred to. The author can be appreciated for her enthusiasm to motivate people through her various activities. One can have this book in his/her library for reading whenever he/she feels low.

Negatives: Though the minutest of beauties of life were enlisted perfectly, there is some gap between the author’s intention and the reader’s reception.

My rating is 3 out of 5

Love this book - so inspirational. I've been feeling depressed recently, and when I read this I feel so much better about myself and my life. Beautiful advice that's easy to read a short quote or two, or read pages at a time. Boosts my spirits - life is full of abundance!
