This was a quirky, if quite enjoyable, mystery. Third in the series and 1st I’ve read, I’m tempted to say it’s one of those series better read in order (I’ve ordered the 1st and will soon know), but if you don’t care about stuff like that and just want an enjoyable who-dunnit, you’ve got one here. Jason Lynx enjoys solving puzzles, and one occurs when an odd woman is stabbed to death right in front of him during a protest at a Planned Parenthood Center, but no one notices until the crowd disperses and she is found slumped against the plate glass behind which Jason was observing the protest. A mob-style professional hit on a street person elicits questions, and Lynx is intrigued, and so too will you be.
Be aware that there’s a large and complex cast of interrelated characters, but trying to figure out the relationships is part of the mystery and the fun. Enjoy.

I've enjoyed the most of the characters in the Jason Lynx series. However whenever his girlfriend Grace shows up, I am pulled out of the story by her eating more than three large men without ever gaining an ounce. They have a lot of meals together so this happens repeatedly. This series would have been better if she had eaten like a normal person.

the Grace character is the most unlikable, she's one of those busybody judgmental types who likes to fix people, but shes just a little bit of a bigot.

I adore her writing style. The mystery has many twists but in this episode (3 out of 6-I think) I was able to figure out quite a bit by half way through. Even though I knew what would be learned by the protagonist I still enjoyed reading every word. The Jason Lynx mysteries are quite touching. This one was bitter sweet.

The author does seem to have a few issues to let you know about. This time it's abortion, she's clearly a right-to-choice person, the protagonist is undecided but others are vocal. I didn't feel it got in the way of the plot, but the plot was designed for it. If you are a right-to-lifer this book will probably bother you.
