This is an unusual story, and I'm not sure I like it.
A young boy's toys keep getting mysteriously broken overnight, and his friend convinces him that it's all manner of exotic creatures - a tiger, a lion, and an elephant (who lays eggs...?)
So they catch the animals and make them fix the toys.
It's a weird combination of fantasy and realism, and, as I said, I'm not sure I like it at all.
Even though this story if very short, there are a lot of different themes throughout it. There is the idea that you shouldn't take or break something at does not belong to you, there is the idea that friends will always have their friends best interest no matter how far fetched, and how doing something bad will eventually get you in trouble. I really like this book because of the messages, but also because it is just a cute story.
I loved this book as a child and still do! I like how it combines fantasy in a way that surprises the reader and makes them believe anything can happen.
