This is a collection of interviews with Native Americans and hunters/fisherman in the Yukon area of Alaska about their experiences with Sasquatch like creatures. The stories go back many years and I think they are a fascinating collection of folklore and evidence as well that these creatures exist. The stories are very consistent in their details including their experiences about noises in the night, heavy objects being hurled, large nests found on the ground, and the descriptions of their encounters describing their physical characteristics and other behaviors. Hunters who have witnessed these creatures have been reluctant to harm them even when they had firearms. The main response has been surprise and then extreme fear. Similar stories have also been documented in the Navajo reservation. One detail that was interesting was that people reported feeling like they were being watched in the wilderness and apparently there is a primitive part of our brain that picks up odors and movements before our vision can see the animal.

For the most part, this is a collection of people's encounters in Alaska with an unidentified species. Intriguing and fascinating. I love that this world still contains a few mysteries, some of gigantic proportions.
