Rate this book

First: It is never a good manner to split a book into three parts and to publish them separately. There are at least 12 parts of the whole series, each costs the full price...

About the audio book itself:
In the German edition you first hear the voice of Achim Höppner. And this is an epic voice that drives chills down your chine. It is just an amazing voice actor. However, suddenly this changed to disappointment, when I realized that he only reads the intro and outro!!! The story itself reads Oliver Brod. His voice is more like a boy or young man. It might fit to the character, but I had a hard time accepting this.

I once saw the movie first and all I remember is the confusion I suffered from. I had no idea what was happening there. The book is so much better to understand.
Though, the translation is sometimes a bit weird. I don't think this is the fault of the translator, but more a difference in culture. Some of the dialogs just sound strange to non-Russian ears. It is the same strangeness like listening to Japanese dialogs or from some other cultures.

The book did really got me. I am eager to read on. But there is one problem: The first mentioned split of each book into three audio book parts. Together 120€ for all 12 parts of the series is just ridiculous!

Fiction always has been one of the most interesting genre for me. For some reason I've been reading foreighn books mainly but it changed. I took this book in a trip and read it in a train. I watched a movie based on it and I was amazed how much differences there are! Book is better but still there's something missing but I can't figure out what exactly...
