It's a temporary solution, but one that may safeguard Jack's home planet during this turbulent transition. Jack, alongside Onyx and Shana, undertakes the monumental task of fine-tuning these Dungeons to avert catastrophe when they are unleashed upon Earth. Amidst these challenges, Jack seizes the opportunity to harness newfound wealth, transferring gold through the Portals and exchanging Earth's resources for Montaria's riches. As he embarks on this exhilarating journey across Montaria, he forms bonds that redefine his understanding of friendship, camaraderie, and love. Join Jack as he scales the heights of power, forges unbreakable friendships, and discovers a love that transcends worlds in this mesmerizing tale.
Probably not going to continue the series after this one. The way the main character shouts in surprise every few pages is agonizingly cringe. Plus, there's not really relationships. There's "wow that girl's hot, hey we've known each other for a few days, wanna bang?" and then "great so we're married now and I love you even though it's been a week". Also, despite being called out for it in this book, the main character still literally does nothing but hunt monsters and bang his party members. The addition of quests into the book universe does introduce some variety, but so far it's one quest that takes the back half of this book so....six up half a dozen down I guess.
Plus the level of writing is inconsistent. It's pretty standard but then shit like "libidinous" gets tossed in and it's like a 3-car pileup for the eyes.
I cannot believe how immune this character to absorbing information and making conclusions. "My leopard companion turns into a house cat when I go to earth. I wonder what my WOLF with turn into, there's no way to KNOW!!" (it turns into a Doberman of all fuckin things, when any kind of shepherd dog is right there).
This is clearly an isekai portal adventure story. The overall pacing is moderate to slow. It leans toward slice of life with plenty of action.
A solid reading possibilty for fans of the genre. Especially if you prefer the characters and their interactions over an over-arcing adventure. Not that this doesn't deliver on the genre standard adventuring.
There were slightly more internal inconsistancies than the first book but nothing to worry about. It was on the level that you would find with most other authors. Most could be explained away with a few sentences here or there and don't pull you out of the story. I woudn't even say anything except I took special note.
Ok read. Simple. Got stale and lacked any suspense.
Enjoyed book one. This second book lacked any new developments except adding a supporting character. ( very bland and typical type of new addition). The pace was slow and very over explained and repetitive in the story. Just stale. At times boring. Very forgettable unfortunately. Shame because the story has promise. Oh, and cringe dialogue, like 8th grade level writing dialogue. Just a weak attempt to produce a story for the sake of selling a book. Not sure if I care to read anymore of this at this poor level of writing.
My second favorite series by this author so far, although it's a close second the could be overturned. I like the MC. In the first book, he was a bit aggravating, always asking dumb questions every time he heard something new that honestly just seemed like common sense. But this book is adapting and coming into his own. I like the women. Strong, independent, but likable.
I dont like harem type books, but by the time the second female joined the group it wasn't too bad. What was upsetting was the lack of respect for Christianity. Please be respectful of others religion by not using their God's name in a disrespectful manner. Christianity is one of the biggest religions in the world. You know using the name "Jesus" in the manner in which you used it was quite disrespectful.
Meets expectations for Isekai fun. Harem feels a bit rushed. The quest system is a good idea, but One did not put any restrictions on what valid quests are. Pay money for quest to seek justice is fine, but who is stopping creation of quests to enslave Elven maidens?
I just love this story, this is book two of the series, Jack and his now two wives and two beast companions are having a ball! Jack is converting his gold into US dollars, and is rolling in it, if you like dungeons fighting monsters with some sex secedes but not over the top then this is for you! Highly recommended
I am really enjoying the story so far, and I'm a fan of the "fade to black" way of dealing with sex scenes. What drags this book down is the amount of inconsistencies, sometimes between one paragraph and the next. The author would do well to hire an editor to spot these. Book 1 had plenty of them, and book 2 had way more.
A wonderfully told adult fantasy adventure!!! It should be absolutely no surprise to anyone that had read this author that this series is so well written, edited and a true joy to read!!!
Levesque has topped the previous book in this series. His characters are better defined. The conflicts are more creative. And his ventures back to earth made me smile. Praise is very well deserved!
Nice guys don't finish last in this series. If you do good work you get ahead quickly. Fast paced, good characters with good imagination and a great companion! Can't wait for the next book.
This was a nice continuation to the series. If you liked the first book then this is more of the same but with more character growth and expanded story.
A fun dungeon and dragon-type adventure book with an enjoyable main character, the second book in series. Detrimental in that the series is a harem-type dive series. Lots of time was spent describing food. Read Kindle book using Alexa audio asset. Borrowed with Kindle Unlimited.
