When Estelle is killed by the very subordinate she once trusted, her life as a loyal knight of the Kingdom of Ersha comes to a sudden end. But to her surprise, she wakes up three years later in the body of Lucifela Aydin, the spoiled daughter of a wealthy count in the enemy empire of Jansgar. Thrust into a world of noble banquets, court politics, and an unwanted engagement to Zedekiah Heint—the duke she once crossed swords with—Estelle is compelled to live as a noblewoman among those who destroyed her homeland. Determined to uncover the truth behind Ersha’s downfall and her own betrayal, Estelle seizes the second chance to find the traitors, reunite with the survivors, and protect what little remains of her kingdom. To do so, she will live as Lucifela!
That was nice! I picked this up because the premise sounded interesting, and the artwork is simply gorgeous. I had a few problems getting into the story and figuring out who's who, but after a while it worked out. It's interesting to see two completely opposite personalities clash with Estelle and Lucifera. I liked Estelle's spirit when she tries to navigate this new life. Of course the boys in this are all gorgeous haha, I can't really say if I'm rooting for one of them though. I'm not here for the romance but for the plot. The murder mystery as a side plot was a nice addition I didn't expect! I'd totally recommend picking this up if you like fantasy and pretty art!
(finished the whole webtoon and not just Vol. 1 but they don't have it on goodreads so this will do as a placeholder)
beautifully written and paced; stunning visuals and authentic characters you can't help but root for. wish i could reread like it was my first time reading<3
*hibbel*
I wanted to try something by the new publisher Crossed Hearts and ended up going with this one. Web comics aren't actually my favourite; I prefer black and white as the full colour ones tend to look very simplified. One reason why I chose this one was because I really like the art style and the previews looked like the inside art keeps a pretty high level. It did not disappoint! While not exactly on par with black and white comics, I really think the art was beautiful throughout.
Story-wise, I went into this nearly blind but I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. In a fictional European-esque setting, two kingdoms are at war with each other. Our main character Estelle is a female general in Ersha who is betrayed by ones loyal to her. After being killed, she wakes up again a few years later in the body of a noble woman from the enemy kingdom. She learns that Ersha has lost the war and finds herself living a life of a girl whose lifestyle is entirely different of her own. On top of that, she finds herself engaged to the son of the very man who brought upon Ersha's downfall.
Her new body's former life seems to have been one of frivolities and plenty of bad reputation. What I appreciated is how Estelle adapts - she begins working on her strength as well as learning proper etiquette - she realises both can be a weapon and plans on making the best of it. Her ultimate goal is revenge on those who have wronged her but also to find what remains of those loyal to Ersha.
The romance seems like it will be very slow burn - both characters don't want this engagement and openly show their dislike of the other, albeit both have very different reasons. It was also nice to see Estelle realising that noble ladies aren't all silly and pampered women and who also just play within the confines left to them. There seems to be a lot of political intrigue, interesting family, friendship and romance dynamics. This looks like a very promising start to an engaging series.
The core concept here is interesting. It explores gender dynamics and inequality through transmigration for the protagonist. It also is clear that everyone has their own motivations for their behaviors so it is naive to be too trusting. Sadly, the story itself is slow to progress. Our lady knight doesn't improve her body, use her old skills, or find her comrades despite the passing of time. Perhaps that is just so there are more chapters to work through but it feels like chapter after chapter of introduction, observation, and critique with zero progress on the alleged goals. The character interactions can be entertaining. Artwork is fine but feels messy on occasion.

I really enjoyed this first volume! The art was beautiful and i felt like the story was paced perfectly.
Knight Estelle is killed by someone she once trusted. But fast forward three years later and she wakes up in the body of Lucifela Aydin, a wealthy counts daughter. & she's engaged?!
This seems like it'll be a wonderful slow burn between the main characters. I always love the forced marriage we-hate-each-other trope 😂 never fails to entertain me. Im so curious to see where the story goes and if Estelle/Lucifela gets her revenge! Im invested.
Thank you The Crossed Hearts for the gifted review copy!
I read the webtoon. I genuinely liked it so much. The art style was amazing. I have been reading it since the release, and now that it has finished, I feel like a part of me is gone. I was always expecting a new chapter to be dropped. Genuinely loved it. I feel like each character had complexity and humane feelings, so I could understand all of them and their points of view, though I did not support or agree with their choices.
I love the art. The ml is like the perfect ml, and the fl is so funny, she is so uptight but so funny and caring. I liked how she decided to stay with her life as Lucifela and not Estelle. So good. And that the new emperor had new and totally differently plans for the empire and I’m grateful that all the people I didn’t like was killed 🤧
Read the manhwa on webtoon. It’s good! but I wish they got a bit more into their marriage life because the extras felt like it was just a part of the main story.
To be clear so this does not get removed, I read the original Webtoon version and I absolutely loved this story. I have no problems and was hooked from beginning to end.
