Eighteen nursery rhymes give youngsters a chance to practice oral language skills through the use of repetitive language and fun sounds. Many of my personal favorites are here, including "Hickory, Dickory, Dock," "It's Raining, It's Pouring," and "Star Light, Star Bright." The verses are accompanied by colorful images of various animals. No matter the age, these lines will have some appeal and are fun to utter. The publisher has been mindful of the need to produce a sturdy book that can stand up to multiple readings and rough handling. Young readers will even like the cut-outs on the cover.
