Mike was born in California and has lived in multiple states from the west coast to the east coast. He cannot remember a time when he wasn't reading a book. At school, home, on vacation, at work at lunch time, and yes even a few pages in the car (at times when he just couldn't put that great book down). Though he has read all sorts of genres he has always been drawn to fantasy. It is his way of escaping to a simpler time filled with magic, wonders and heroics of young men and women.

Other than reading, Mike has always enjoyed the outdoors. From the beaches in Southern California to the warm waters of North Carolina. From the waterfalls in the Northwest to the Rocky Mountains in Utah. Mike has appreciated the beauty that God provides for us. He also enjoys hiking, discovering nature, playing a little basketball or volleyball, and most recently disc golf. He has a lovely wife who has always supported him, and three beautiful children who have been the center of his life.

Mike began writing stories in elementary school and moved on to larger novels in his early adult years. He has worked in corporate finance for most of his career. That, along with spending time with his wonderful family and obligations at church has made it difficult to find the time to truly dedicate to writing. In the last few years as his children have become older he has returned to doing what he truly enjoys - writing!

The Path of Peace

Amazing conclusion of the trilogy. The style of Mike Shelton is one of the bonuses of the trilogy, you gain an appreciation for the good guys warts and all. You can boo the bad guys, they don't care they will get worse anyway. Enjoyable read.

The Path of Peace: The Cremelino Prophecy Book 111 by Mike Shelton continues the story of Darius, the troubled boy in The Path of Destiny who became First Commander in the King’s Elite Army in The Path of Decisions. Darius has, very unexpectedly, become king. Married to the girl from the farmlands, Christine, he is not yet fully in control of his magical powers. His mission is the same, to fulfil the Cremelino Prophecy: “Forgotten lines of ancient magic and the power of the throne. One will make them both his own if his heart sees the true power. He will bring light to fight darkness and love to fight hate if he reaches into the power of his heart. He will find new allies, turn enemy to friend, and find the binding of all power on the path of peace.”

The path of peace is not an easy route for King Darius; he is a Heart Wizard. Danijela, a princess of the Kingdom of Arc ambitious to become its queen, finds that her destiny is to be an Earth Wizard to whom kings and queens will one day bow. This powerful character-driven fantasy shows how Darius’ own nature sometimes works against him; he sees the best in everyone. Queen Christine sums up the meaning of The Cremelino Prophecy. “He has fought his own darkness and brought light again to the kingdom, and he rules with love.” Can Darius win around the forces of evil and bring peace to his realm? I didn’t believe it was possible for Mike Shelton to exceed his first two books in the series: The Path of Peace: The Cremelino Prophecy Book 111, is its crowning glory.

Wizards, but not as we know them

Enjoyed that. Series started a little slowly, and I wasn't sure I would like it. First book could have degenerated into a 'I hate daddy book, so I'm going to destroy everything and everyone', but redeemed itself at the last minute.
So, rebellious son hates daddy, gets sent away to army, does well, but still hates daddy. Gets kidnapped, has a revelation, returns home, gets girl, becomes king and........?

Wonderful, make me skip to the chapter end then go back and read book. More please!!!

I found this through the Alaris Chronicles series. Can't wait for book 3 of the series!!!
I love the way Shelton weaves love, honor and duty in both of these series. I have used some of his story lines as teaching tools for young kids I interact with in bowling leagues.

I appreciate a writer who doesn't feel the need to pepper his books with inappropriate language especially the f..bomb. I will read more of his books.

Wonderful story!

This a is very great story and I have enjoyed it. I like that is clean and incorporated God in a very positive way. The story is engaging and so I continued with the series. This one isn't plagued, as much, by the plot holes of the first two...and that shows improvement! That said, the problem I have with it is some awkwardness in dialog and in some of the narrative. I think a good editor could really help the story flow. This author has talent and with help could go far...the characters are good but not quite developed enough to really suspend my disbelief and it leaves me being too aware that I am reading a book. I can't get lost in the interesting world he is trying to create. I only gave this four stars, instead of three, because I can see potential...but sad to say, I don't think I will read more from this author. I hope others will give this series a try, however, because this is a good story... and for the potential there.. others could see it differently than I do! (Maybe I will check new ones out in the future to see if he improves! I certainly wish him success!)

Great Trilogy

I loved these books and didn't want them to end. I wish Mike Shelton would write a series about the next generation, I don't want to say goodbye to the characters or the Cremelinos yet. If you want to get lost in a great fantasy get these books.

A fantastic young adult series that even adults can enjoy! It is fantasy series full of magic, suspense and adventure. I was drawn right into the story and could not put the series down. The first book gives us the all the background information of the magic of Darius, the disagreements between the different groups of people in the Realm and the rising of the Preacher. The second book is where the story really comes to life, Darius comes into his own and it is so exciting! You can't stop reading because the suspense and adventure is amazing. So much happens in this novel that you feel as though nothing more can possibly happen but sure enough book three is just as good.

I loved the connection of the magic, the horses and Darius and Christine. It was so exciting! Especially to watch the magic grow in Darius as he learned how to control his magic and what it needs to work. The three books are well written, played out and lead into each other very well. They are incredibly exciting and full of suspense. These are perfect books for young adults but even older adults who love fantasy.
