My rating 3.75 Stars

This is a complicated story with convoluted, intersecting storylines rich with mystical phenomena, and steeped in ancient lore and magic. In the present, Anne Le Clair and Michael are separated soon after arriving in Avalon, for what was to have been a quiet month of relaxation and rejuvenation, after Michael’s friend and mentor is murdered. Meanwhile, Alexander Cagliostro, driven to madness, causes a terrible breach in the veil of time that threatens destruction on a massive scale. Megan is a young priestess in Atlantis who is in training when the man she loves disappears and a cataclysmic event tears her world asunder.

It is an intricately woven, compelling mystery that kept me fully engaged and mesmerized throughout, even though some of the myths and ancient history was lost on me, I am afraid, because my knowledge of the subject is sorely lacking. I was touched by this novel mainly because it is about love that transcends the ages. The description of ancient Atlantis was beautifully depicted and was contrasted quite well with what remains in modern times of that magical place. I enjoyed the story and really got caught up in the lives of Anne, Michael and Megan.

Theresa Crater has a powerful voice. Beneath these Hallowed Halls is a beautifully written and engaging story. The reader will be transported back to the mystical land of Atlantis to experience Merlin’s crystal cave, luminescent meditative gardens and swimming with dolphins.. This well researched book mixes dreamy metaphysical experiences with a wild ride. I couldn’t put it down and finished in 1 ½ days. If you read Crater’s first book Under the Stone Paw, then you can again follow Anne and Michael on their quest of light and unfolding love and travel with them to the Glastonbury Tor on this great adventure. I can’t wait for the next book.

Wonderful, compelling read! Theresa Crater combines history, legend, metaphysics, spirituality, terrific characters and exciting action into a very entertaining and thought-provoking adventure. I recommend this and Crater's first book, Under the Stone Paw, most heartily! I can't wait for the next!

Very good! **Spoilers**

I very much enjoyed this book. I would have given it 5 stars but it lost a star for 2 reasons. Reason #1: I read Under the Stone Paw right before I started this book. In the last book, Robert is a Rabbi and is Michael’s mentor. He dies in this book and his funeral is definitely not Jewish in any way. This really bugged me and I couldn’t let it go. How do you have a Jewish Rabbi buried by a priest in a non-Jewish cemetery? And did the author just forget he was Jewish? One would think that the author would’ve had notes about all her characters. Reason #2: In the end of Under the Stone Paw, Anne’s security guy Bob is killed by the Illuminati. They mention it multiple times and even toast to him as one of the fallen in the last few pages of the book. In this book, they have a security guy named Bob that is Anne’s security once again. Now, there is no mention of a Bob dying and the fact that this Bob seems to have been with the family for a long time makes me assume it’s the same Bob from book 1. This REALLY bugged me!!! Did the author not read the previous book? How about the editor? Coming up with a different name for the security guy would’ve been pretty simple. Or did the author forget that Bob died? I don’t know what it was, but it really annoyed me!!! Other than those 2 annoyances I thought the book was great. Since Robert and Bob aren’t main characters, the book still gets 4 stars from me, but little details like these always stand out to me. There was a sample for book 3 in the series and I can’t wait to read it. I only hope that the author pays attention to little details like these.

Beneath the Hallowed Hills - a review by Rosemary Kenny

A paranormal suspense sequel from the writer of Beneath the Lion's Paw, Beneath the Hallowed Hill is Book 2 in the Power Places Series by creative writer Theresa Crater.
MCs from Book 1, include Anne le Clair and Michael Levy, who are involved in exploring the house Anne's inherited from her Mom's late sister and more importantly, what's happened to stop one of the two Sacred Springs in the mythical area Avalon, alleged to exist around the eponymous Hallowed Hills surrounding Glastonbury Tor.

I like the linking of several myths and legends - the lost city of Atlantis and the legendary burial place of King Arthur and his Knights. Also the nod to Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol, gave Beneath the Hallowed Hills a sense of gravitas with the use of the Illuminati role in both novels.
I thought this novel tended to become too complicated in the introduction of a priestess and the Crystal Matrix Chamber, that seemed to be entangled with the stories of Merlin's Cave and the Time travel and that it was trying to be all things to all readers.
Anne and Michael are good MCs, (although the latter's talents as an Egyptologist were rather irrelevant in this tale) and I liked their burgeoning love affair that may lead to an HEA - if they can live long enough to find it!
Get your copy today (and Book 1, if you haven't read it already) and enjoy the magical mystery tour!

This book didn't disappoint me. Even though the story evolves less around Michael and Anne, but more is focused on the journey of the Illuminati Cagliostro and Megan from the Crystal guild in Atlantis.

The story is as always spiritual inclined with wiccan rituals and science intertwined into a spiritual adventure for the soul. I love the speculations about what happened to Atlantis and if this society ever existed. I was mostly impressed of the world building in Atlantis, I felt right at home.

When Cagliostro finds the master crystal, he upsets the balance with in the current world, but also the balance within Atlantis. Can Michael and Anne stop him from destroying their world too?

With the emerge of the Alchemists coven in Atlantis , science is on the rise and with it, it's deadly consequences that seems to spark events that cannot be stopped. In the meantime, Megan is getting ready to delve into the rituals that are done in Avalon. In the beginning of her journey, there are quite a few steamy, sexual tintend paragraphs within this story.

The books is equally balanced in emotions, from anger to spiritual balance, not only in the emotions of the characters but also in the way the story is written. If you like any adventures pertaining Atlantis, this is the right book to read. It was an fantastical journey down spiritual memory lane.

Yet another excellent novel featuring Anne and Michael who we met in the first book in the series, Under the Stone Paw. Theresa does an amazing job linking the beautiful and spiritually amazing town of Glastonbury in the United Kingdom in the present day to its prehistoric origins, where the celebrations of Beltane were celebrated around the massive stone circle in Avebury.

I know this area very well as I visited it regularly when I lived in the UK, so I can say from personal experience that she has succeeded wonderfully is portraying the metaphysical atmosphere of an entire area both today and in the past, when neolithic people were in tune with the land. Within easy reach is the well know stone circle of Stonehenge but there is so much more, the West Kennet Long Barrow and the magnificent Avebury circle which has an energy unrivaled to anywhere else where I've visited, although the ancient temples in the Maltese islands came close.

In this novel we explore the ancient past and the connection that we still have with it today in a story where the characters are well drawn and take part in a fast moving tale that keeps the pages turning. If you enjoy tales about our ancient origins, this one is definitely for you.

To read this book is to understand our distant past as well as being able to appreciate it today.

Book 2 in Theresa Crater's Power Places, Beneath the Hallowed Hill was just fantastic! Makes me want to move to Glastonbury immediately.

Crater's characters are wonderful, but the twists and turns of the climax are outstanding! She is so wonderful at tying together characters and events through complex time and place.

Sure wish this book was non-fiction. Think I need to meditate on it.

Okay. Like the first in the series, the ending felt rushed and left behind plot holes and unresolved issues. This series has a lot of potential and the primary recurring characters are appealing, but the interesting subject matter is just skimmed over lightly making it more new age gloss than the very cool historical and metaphysical novel it could be.

Story continues

Author seems to have figured out her history better in this part. Bringing the main characters to Glastonbury was a great idea. But making their worst enemy, a person without a good bone in his body, a good guy was a bit of a stretch.
Hoping book 3 stays on track. Oh and this has turned from archeology to sci-fi, to fantasy with erotica scene. Just an FYI.

This series is such an amazing interesting informative read. It makes you think what if ---- or could this be real --- what if this could really happen or be partly true. I can't wait to read the next book. Thanks so much for keeping me on the edge of my seat truly enjoyable read!!!

Bring on the next...

This chapter of the Power Places was a little more fanciful than Under The Stone Paw but it was a fun story and has a good ending. Looking forward to the next!
