Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Theresa Crater grew up in the middle of the civil rights movement, an experience that left her believing anything is possible. At the age of seven, Theresa Crater announced to her parents she was going to be a writer. They promptly told her no one could make a living doing that. But like most kids, she didn’t listen.
Now a best-selling author, Theresa brings ancient temples, lost civilizations, and secret societies back to life in her visionary fiction. Her novels include The Power Places series, Under the Stone Paw and Beneath the Hallowed Hill, The Star Family and God in a Box. Her short stories explore ancient myth brought into the present day. The Star Family won best fiction in the Indie Spirit Boo

Hi Fred,

First of all, thanks for letting me know you loved the book. And you're right, that's a difficult question to answer. The book is based on a lot of research and my hubster, Stephen Mehler, is an Egyptologist/ Khemitologist. This book is based on several trips to Egypt with him, plus going to lots of conferences, and I can guarantee there is someone in the world who believes each of the theories I've presented in the book.

These temples all exist, of course, and some of the experiences at the temples are based on real things that happened to me or someone on tour with us. There are lots of tunnels beneath the Giza plateau and it is true that Ab'del Hakim Awyan did crawl and swim through a maze of tunnels, entering at Sakkara and coming out near his house a block from the Sphinx.

Edgar Cayce did prophesy that the Hall of Records was beneath the paw of the Sphinx and would be opened late in the 20th century. Ground penetrating radar did find a square room beneath the Sphinx. We have no idea if it's been opened, but probably has.

Thanks for asking. It was fun talking about this. (less)

The official word from the Antiquities Department is that there is no room. There are tunnels beneath the plateau and Hakim Awyan crawled through one when he was a teenager.
The real question is have we come close to their level of technology. We still don't have the technology to build the Great Pyramid today. (less)

Byron Katie
“Hurt feelings or discomfort of any kind cannot be caused by another person. No one outside me can hurt me. That's not a possibility. It's only when I believe a stressful thought that I get hurt. And I'm the one who's hurting me by believing what I think. This is very good news, because it means that I don't have to get someone else to stop hurting me. I'm the one who can stop hurting me. It's within my power.

What we are doing with inquiry is meeting our thoughts with some simple understanding, finally. Pain, anger, and frustration will let us know when it's time to inquire. We either believe what we think or we question it: there's no other choice. Questioning our thoughts is the kinder way. Inquiry always leaves us as more loving human beings.”
