Should I trade my soul to save my boyfriend?

I’m supposed to be happy. And I am, at first. Things are going great with my new boyfriend Maxwell, my paranormal investigation team has a lot of ghost hunting to do, and my favorite holiday, Halloween, is coming up.

And then Maxwell gets banished to hell by a demon hunter.

Even as I’m trying to process my grief, another demon calls me to offer a my soul for Maxwell’s rescue. Time is running out for me to make a decision, and the ghosts of Savannah, Georgia, aren’t making it any easier. I’m getting cryptic messages from them that don’t make any sense. They could be a warning or a plea for help…

Beth Dolgner writes paranormal fiction and non-fiction. Her interest in things that go bump in the night really took off on a trip to Savannah, Georgia, so it's fitting that the Betty Boo, Ghost Hunter Series of paranormal romance novels takes place in that spooky city. Beth's young adult novels, the steampunk Manifest and the urban fantasy A Talent for Death, also have paranormal elements. Her non-fiction work includes Georgia Spirits and Specters and Everyday Voodoo.

Since Georgia is obviously on her mind, you might think Beth lives there. Well, she did, but these days she and her husband live in Berlin, Germany, with their three cats. Beth misses those mild Georgia winters and proper iced tea, but there's no reason her characters can't enjoy those things.

Beth also enjoys giving presentations on Victorian death and mourning traditions as well as Victorian Spiritualism. She has been a volunteer at an historic cemetery, a ghost tour guide and a paranormal investigator. Right now she's chronicling the best spooky spots around Europe.

We are back with Betty and the whole Savannah Spirit Seekers bunch. After reading Ghost of a Threat (book one in the series), I was totally hooked and just had to keep going with the series…and I was not disappointed!

Ghost of a Whisper is another non-stop adventure for the group. From the first page to the last, there is always something going on. I warn you. Some of it WILL make you cry. I mean CRY. Full-on, sobbing tears, 3 boxes of tissues kind of cry. However, it makes for a GREAT storyline.

As I said in my review of Ghost of a Threat, one of the best things about this series is the bonded friendship that this group has. I felt that the first book displayed that thoroughly. Ghost of a Whisper makes Ghost of a Threat look like the characters hated each other. There are even several friendship ties that are REALLY put to the test in this installment. We find out who is and isn’t a true friend to Betty.

With some pretty hard core twists and turns, Ghost of a Whisper takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride that you won’t soon forget! One minute you are experiencing Betty’s elation and the next minute…yup, you guessed it. TISSUES. Lots of tissues. This book also gives a real sense of mixed emotion when Betty is faced with an unbelievably difficult choice.

And a spoiler without being a spoiler – the last 4 sentences of this book will make you gasp so hard that you almost choke right there on the spot. Bible. Now, don’t cheat! Read the book all the way through or you totally will NOT get the full effect.

Once again, Beth Dolgner spins a very well written mystery. I am greatly anticipating the next book in the series! According to an inside informant of mine (the author *wink wink*), we should be seeing the third installment (Ghost of a Memory is the title according to a recent Tweet by Beth) sometime in mid-March.

I give Ghost of a Whisper 5 stars!! I can not wait for the 3rd installment!!

Since Betty Boorman, or as she is known to her friends Betty Boo, has started dating Maxwell Damon, her life seems lovely. However, not all her friends are happy with her dating a demon and Lou, her tech guy with the Savanna Seekers, has made this clear. Maxwell has told her about demon hunters and how they might try to banish him to hell. When Maxwell is attacked, and it seems that he has been banished, Betty is heartbroken. She and the other Seekers continue to investigate paranormal cases, but when they have a case where the messages seem personal, they are at a loss for an explanation. Meanwhile, Betty has to decide whether she should sell her soul to save Maxwell from hell.
This is a gran excellent second instalment in the Betty Boo series and will keep you awake to find out what will happen to Betty, Maxwell and her friends. Ms. Dolgner has a way with tricky subjects and themes. She treats them with good taste, and the narrators she chooses for her audiobooks are spot-on; though soft on the ear, she successfully conveys the characters and emotions.

Betty Boorman(Boo), is a marketing rep in a boring job but at night she is a ghost hunter. She and her friends, search for ghosts to either confirm their existence (which Savanah residents like), or find out why they are haunting someplace and help stop it.
She is also dating the Demon, Maxwell, that she met in the first book. When accompanying him to a ball, he is attacked by a demon hunter and banished. Betty is contacted by another demon to say if she gives up her soul, Maxwell can be brought back.
While she’s mulling over this decision, a new haunting is brought to the group’s attention, a ghost named Faith is painting Betty’s name on walls.
This leads to more investigation, who is trying to contact Betty and why. With the help of their competition, Carter, they start some investigations.
This book does not really have any action, but it is a nice little mystery with an interesting story and characters. There is humour, conflicts, ghosts, a haunted house and more.
This is a very easy, quick, enjoyable read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Love love this book 2 by Beth Dolgner. This story picked up where book 1 left off .
The characters are well written, both the screens and characters are detailed.
This story is about Maxwell disappearance, with no reason. Betty gets a visit from a Demon with a choice she has to make. But she’s not ready… to save Maxwell she has to sell her soul to the land down under.
Meanwhile Betty and her team with Carter are kept very busy with the ghosts. One ghost is leaving her messages on the wall where she is staying. Betty doesn’t understand them . Grab it and see does Betty sell her soul or do they save Maxwell. The book ends on a cliffhanger, with Maxwell telling Betty something that will break her heart

Lisa Bozek Performance is spot on . Her voice did all the characters great with her tone

Wow... just, wow! I loved it!

Seriously, I'm SO loving this series! In fact, I read book one in one sitting, minus a few bathroom breaks, and then I moved straight into book two despite it being several hours past my bedtime. Once I started, I couldn't stop, and before I knew it, it was well into the next morning and I was finishing book two and seriously considering starting book three! (I didn't because, unfortunately, I do need sleep.)

This book was even better than book one. It had everything, including lots of emotional moments from one end of the spectrum to the other. It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but well worth it! The story was interesting with more than one mystery, and there was humor, drama, and romance. The characters are really well done. Needless to say, I highly recommend this book and this series.

I enjoyed the second book in "Betty Boo, Ghost hunter" series even more than the first one. Romance continued to bloom between Betty and Maxwell, until one night when Maxwell was banished by a demon hunter. Because Halloween is coming, Betty and her team are busier than ever with ghost hauntings. The story was fun and exciting. Lisa Bozek's narration was fun and kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Ghostly help

I don't like talking about the plot of a story in a review because I don't think it is fair to the readers, possibly ruining the story for them. I will say this story is a gauntlet of emotions for the reader despite that, it is a good read and I enjoyed the story. I will also say that Betty has some very loyal friends both living and nonliving. Hope you enjoy it also.

When Maxwell is killed Betty gets messages from ghosts who want to tell her something, her friends help support her, while Tage wants her soul. Will she give up her soul for her demon? Should she do so? Of course not, but she isn't really thinking properly. Carter is even being nice to her. It's a big problem. One that works itself out of course, but not how she would like it work out really.

Every book in this series is better than the last. It’s saving me today after an obscenely early start (thank you to my puppy, for that) and I love it all so much. It’s a wild ride and I’m glad that a) it’s a complete series and b) there’s still more to go before I finish it all.

Great

I really enjoyed Ghost of a Threat (book 1) so I had to read book 2 to see where this series was going and I am so thankful I did because Ghost of a Whisper is even more enjoyable than the first. I mean I really enjoyed the first novel but this one just throws twists and turns at every given moment. I felt like it took on a slightly darker presence, There's so much more to these books than just ghost hunting.

I really like reading Beth Dolgner's books, she has a way of making you disappear into the story and you just find yourself reading continuously to figure out what the ending may be.
Ghost of a Whisper had me shocked and the amount of gasps of "no" and "don't do it" I had throughout this novel kept me locked into the story.

I really like Betty, though I'm starting to think she's never gonna catch a break and have a happy go lucky life.
Carter, dare I say it? Is actually growing on me and I really liked him in this novel.

I really look forward to reading book 3

Love this team!

Such a whirlwind to get Faith's message, but they got it and fulfilled the mission. Not very happy about the ending, but ready for the next installment.

I enjoyed the second book, "Ghost of A Whisper" in the Betty Boo Ghost Hunter Series; but, had a major problem with the ending. Why? Well, this situation is a repeat of what happened in the first book. How many times are we to suffer through the main characters breaking up. A more creative ending (pregnancy, kidnapping by Demon Hunters) would have made a lot more sense and fueled my interest.

In this episode, Betty and Maxwell are enjoying the first month in their relationship. They are going out to various events. However, at a major party, Maxwell is shot by a Demon Hunter and sent back to hell. Betty is devastated. Then, one of Maxwell's friends, Tage shows up and tells her that he can help her get Maxwell back if she is willing to sell her soul.

Betty contemplates her situation while continuing to investigate various paranormal ghost sightings throughout the city. She and Carter manage to team together for a couple of investigations and he demonstrates that he has a more human side lurking under all of the pomp and circumstance. Carter even assists Betty in researching ghostly communications from a haint named Faith. Faith has a message for Betty and it is most urgent.

I enjoyed the story line until the end. I do not want to give up too much but the ending left me saying, "Really?" "Again?" I just thought, "Enough already." Pick up the story, it is pretty good but read the series in order.

Ghost of a Whisper is the second in the Betty "Boo" Ghost Hunter series. After reading Ghost of a Threat I was totally hooked on this series.

Once again Beth Dolgner gives us another book that is full of twists and turns that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.

The characters are the same and are back in full force. We are introduced to some interesting new characters who help Betty on the cases or should I say create the cases.

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what happens in the 3rd installment.
