Why are authors always so concerned about letting us know how the paraplegic character pees?

Ridley
is starting
I'm almost certain I'm not going to like it, but I own it, so I may as well give it a shot.

THIS! I read this book at the suggestion of other people, because it had a heroine with a disability, and they thought it was "really well done". Um... NO.
While my disability is not paralyzing, I do use a chair, and I hope to god that while we are having a conversation, people aren't obsessing about how I pee. It's been a while, but I just remember there being a lot wrong with this one.

This book's problematic quotient is over 9000.

Well, it's definitely a good example of doing it wrong - I'd be really interested in reading that post: please link it when you finish!
