Thanks for proving my point, Jessica Park. She's posted a screen-cap of me on her Facebook in a public post. Lovely woman, no?

Kat Kennedy Charming.

message 2: by Dija (new)

Dija I've already read and dropped Flat-Out Love, or I would have added it to my "not-in-this-lifetime" shelf.

message 3: by Tzippy (new)

Tzippy Oh, wow, she's convinced me--I guess posting a screenshot trying to make a reviewer look bad proves that she doesn't attack reviewers. Or something.

message 4: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Also, see the people who "liked" her post? Two people. I bet you can guess who one of them is without looking.

Alicia (is beyond tired of your *ish) "Author Jamie McGuire You should know better. Writers aren't allowed friends, and you outed yourself."

Her concept of "friendship" intrigues me.

Steph Wow.

message 7: by rameau (new)

rameau Lovely.

message 8: by [deleted user] (last edited May 03, 2012 02:49AM) (new)

Charming. When will authors realise that there's no need for this kind of thing?

message 9: by Dominika (new)

Dominika This is insane @@

message 10: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Also, "ya-author-wankfest-of-2012" is the shelf I would have chosen to call me out on. That's just me though.

message 11: by Sabina (new)

Sabina Charming.

message 12: by Ava (last edited May 03, 2012 03:48AM) (new)

Ava I swear, these people need to shut the fuck up. I'd give her a sweet comment and hell, but I know some morons will go to her aid.

"21 century, where authors can't take "no" for an answer.

message 13: by Jessica-Robyn (last edited May 03, 2012 04:04AM) (new)

Jessica-Robyn My word. Well, you've got to appreciate that she's willing to go out of her way to do your work for you, point proven, job well done! What I find so achingly charming are the lovely comments. It's the mob boss mentality that fuels this sort of author behaviour.

message 14: by Katie(babs) (new)

Katie(babs) as the Goodreads drama turns. O.o

message 15: by Steph (new)

Steph Sinclair Wow. Who DOES that? I just took her book off my TBR list. That is ridiculous.

message 16: by Zuleeza (new)

Zuleeza Okay, someone should compile books from these authors and make a listopia of 'bad author behaviour'. I'll be eager to vote.

message 17: by Kiki (new)

Kiki What the fuck? Why would you...?

I can't even...

What the fuck?

Spider the Doof Warrior These folks do not seem to be being very mature if they are going to jump on people for not wanting to read their books. They should ignore them and just write better books.

message 19: by Lisa (new)

Lisa She's Flat Out Lame.

Kiki Lisa wrote: "She's Flat Out Lame."

Lisa, I laughed so hard.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, another author? What's the story of this one? (Actually, I think you can report her for that.)

message 22: by Has (new)

Has Oh there's a book out too???? Interesting timing ;)

But not surprised by Parks or Mcguire are on the quest to bash those mean bitter reviewers :P - whilst saying these reviewers spend way too much bashing others but the irony is that they get into the trouble of screencapping and tweeting/linking it all. THAT takes effort ;D

Misfit Zuleeza wrote: "Okay, someone should compile books from these authors and make a listopia of 'bad author behaviour'. I'll be eager to vote."

Lol. We tried that once and it was taken down. I assume someone complained :p

Crap, I may have given her the title for the sequel.
Hopefully she takes a screenshot of me next and posts it on her FB page too.

I can't say it any better than this.

T "....I know the crowd that you're running in, and it's not a nice one." -- Flat-Out Love

Really?! That is so juvenile.

Like her "crowd" is any better.

message 28: by Lis (new)

Lis That's just...petty. Welcome to my "not-gonna-happen" list, too.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

She took it down. I guess that happens when she's faced with reasonable argument.

message 30: by Steph (new)

Steph Sinclair Screen caps exist for a reason. Things are never truly gone. The Internet's a bitch like that.

Steph Sinclair Skyla (Happy Go Lucky and Lost in Books) wrote: "Did someone screencap it?"

Kat and I both did. I'm sure THT did as well.

Stephanie wrote: "Screen caps exist for a reason. Things are never truly gone. The Internet's a bitch like that."

Very good point.

message 34: by Missy (new)

Missy LaRae As an author I just find that crazy. Authors ARE allowed friends. If someone thinks my writing sucks, that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if they bought it and didn't like it. Fine. Absolutely no sense in authors bashing reviewers because of an opinion.

@THT Just rise above girl!

CJ - It's only a Paper Moon Are you frickin' kidding , me?

message 36: by Kate (last edited May 03, 2012 11:50AM) (new)

Kate Copeseeley I am an author:
-I have friends who are authors.
-I have friends whose books I love.
-I don't bash reviewers who DON'T like my friends' books.

It is all possible. Come on now, people. Let's be LOGICAL.

message 37: by Jennifer D (new)

Jennifer D I'm sorry but if I don't want to read your book because you act like an asshat, and deserved to be called out for acting like an asshat then I will place you on a bookshelf accordingly.

message 38: by Shannon (last edited May 03, 2012 12:50PM) (new)

Shannon Want to know why I put her on my "attacks-reviewers" shelf? See for yourself.

http://dearauthor.com/features/letter... - where she supposedly got the idea for screen-capping my face and shelf ... somehow ... I guess because DA screen-capped Park's FB in that post? Who knows what's going on in her head.

http://www.amazon.com/review/R366XAHG... - this one isn't as bad

http://www.amazon.com/review/R1Z0JKL0... - this one is just eye opening

message 39: by Laura (new)

Laura I'm an author.

I have friends.

I have friends who don't like my books.

I'm okay with that.

I have author friends whose books I don't care for.

It happens. It's life. You deal. You don't call out people on facebook because you don't like them. This is such unprofessional behavior, and not a way to run a business, because like it or not, as an author, we do run a business.

Could you see Target's facebook page posting a screenshot of some unhappy customer? No! It would never happen.

that facebook post was uncalled for.

Oh. My. Lord.

I think I just wasted ten minutes of my life.

These authors are acting like Freshman Creative Writing Majors!

Shadow Jubilee Lyn wrote: "She took it down. I guess that happens when she's faced with reasonable argument."

Thanks for the screencap. What's funny is that she wrote that she couldn't wait for a screenshot of what she had posted - and now it's down? Why'd she change her tune?
