5* for "Chandail." The character depth here is almost unreal!

Not a good judge of poetry but I liked "The Unicorn Tapestries."

5* for "By Moonlight." Much more than a talking heads tale!

5* for "The Stickball Witch." Like Millhauser, but better.

5* for "Spook." Not the deepest. But fast-paced & exciting!

5* for "The Last and Only, or, Mr. Moscowitz Becomes French." Or, was he becoming an alienated human?

4.5* for "King Pelles the Sure." Good tale but a bit of a letdown after the previous 3.

5* for "The Tale of Junko and Sayuri!" Awesome historical fantasy!

Started "The Tale of Junko and Sayuri," the longest in the book.

5* for the title story. Slow, steady, & multi-layered!
