While reading this book, I pictured Robert Downey Jr. playing Locke. His "Sherlock Holms" would fit right in.

Warner Brothers has the rights for the movie adaptation... http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117...
Reading that I think I'll be disappointed.
The actor need to be fairly young.Probably people we've never heard of.
(Unless they try to use the Harry Potter mob)
If your going to use older actors you may as well
call it Oceans 14 or 15.
We already have a thread that started with picturing the Harry Potter cast, but quickly turned into a discussion about who we would cast. You can find it here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/8...I'd imagined either Stephen Fry or Michael Caine as Chains. Can't quite decide what would be better. I love them both.
As for the others I don't have any real preferences. Either Gary Oldman or Alan Rickman would make a great Bondsmagi I think.
The only thing I'm sure of is that it would have to be British or Irish actors. I don't know why but seeing this on screen without fancy accents would seem wrong to me.
I pictured The Falconer being younger than Gary or Alan, although I do agree that either of those guys can totally own an evil magician role.I always imagined Chains as being played by Brian Blessed, but that might be just me... he always seems to get a part somewhere in the books I read. I like Stephen Fry better though I think!

Brian Blessed would make a great chains.
I imagined Locke as Edward Norton, probably because of The Illusionist and The Score.Chains seemed slightly sinister and obsessive to me, and I thought of Anthony Hopkins.
Orlando Bloom as Locke, of course! He's thin and has that mischievous twinkle in his eye. He may be a little old for the role, but I think he still has the youthful face to pull it off.
