Lacey Weatherford was born in Ft. Meade Maryland while her father was serving in the military. She has been a life long resident of Arizona, spending most of her time growing up in the small rural town of Clay Springs.

It was while she was attending the small country school in Clay Springs, that she read her first "big" book at the age of eight. It was a Nancy Drew novel and Lacey was instantly hooked. She read every book that she could find in the series and decided that she wanted to write stories too.

Lacey spent a lot of time at the library from that time forward, even volunteering in her later teen years and early twenties. She would don a crazy clown outfit for the Friends of the Library fundraisers in an effort to help get the new town library built.

When she and her husband moved away from the area, Lacey took the opportunity to take some creative writing classes at the local college to help further along her interests. Several years later, they were blessed with the opportunity to move back to Clay Springs with their family. The town had finally succeeded in building their library and Lacey had the opportunity to be President of the Friends of the Library for a very short time, before relocating.

Lacey and her family still live in the White Mountains of Arizona, where she continues to write young adult novels that have a fantasy/fairytale or paranormal bent to them, as well as being sure to include a great romantic storyline!

Reading this book was an incredible experience for me. I’d read the first two books The Trouble With Spells and The Demon Kiss and absolutely adored them. By the time I began reading Blood Of The White Witch I was already head over heels for the resident bad boy, Vance Mangum and was absolutely SOLD on the series. In my naivete I felt that the books couldn’t possibly get any better because in my mind it was already perfect. I was undeniably WRONG. This book is hands down the best I’ve read of all three.

Being the emotional reader that I am, my hope is always that a book causes me to feel something, anything whether it’s the rush of excitement that comes when a twist reveals itself in the story or the dip in the stomach when the lead guy moves in and claims the girl he loves. I knew that reading this book would be an emotional one but nothing prepared me for how intense it would be or how incredible the pull would be as it completely SUCKED me into the story. I’ve said before in my reviews of the first two books how they had reached in and held my heart hostage … well those books pale in comparison to the way this book moved me. There were so many twists to the story, so many possibilities. At any given time I was experiencing complete happiness and giddiness for Portia and Vance, shock and horror at some of the situations they found themselves in and complete devastation when the love they had for each other was once again tested almost to its breaking point. All I can do now is sit back and sigh, totally satisfied from being entertained so completely

I loved the way Vance and Portia move together, the way they naturally gravitate towards each other. The more you read through the series, the more you realize how perfect they are for each other and it’s really difficult to not think of one without thinking of the other. They are both fiercely protective of each other which is a direct result of the challenges they’ve faced. They have been through so much and the beginning of the book starts off with a celebration that reminds you have wonderful it is to be in love and I LOVED watching how they were with each other. I loved the message that regardless of whether the sky is falling and the world is on the verge of destruction, there is always time for passion, for tenderness, for devotion. They're definitely one of my top book couples.

Portia is really growing into the role of an amazing lead female. She shows a great strength in character now that she is more confident in her magical abilities and her relationship with Vance. She knows what she wants and what she needs to do to get it. She has complete faith in her love for Vance and does everything she can to protect him. She truly is Vance’s equal in this book and it was AMAZING to watch. You need to know that my heart went out to her in this book because I knew that inevitably there’s only so much a person can take and only so much they can give before they break. Her limits were constantly being challenged and I appreciated the emotions I felt through her as I was able to get a much better look at the world through her eyes.

Vance Mangum. That really does say it all right? Just the sound of his name should give you an indication of what kind of character he is but if not let me share it with you. He is by far the best bad boy I’ve found in all of the YA genre. I know that may hurt Dimitri’s feelings (resident bad boy from the Vampire Academy series) but I have to call it as I see it. You can’t not read Vance and not have your knees weaken even just a little. I love the passion he feels for Portia and his total lack of fear in letting the entire world know how much he adores her. He leaves her with no doubt whatsoever that he is hers and that he would go to the end of the world for her. There were so many scenes in this book that had me totally in love with him and I have to say, as the lover of the evil bad boy – Vance has ALL the potential of driving me completely over the edge into bad boy Heaven. He fights his demon tendencies but still he struggles. The moment his eyes flash that sexy red, I’m swooning and I am DESPERATE to know what happens with him in the next book. There were so many Vance moments I loved in the book but the two that I can safely share without ruining anything is one from the opening chapters where Vance can’t take it one moment longer and pulls Portia into an empty room and RAVISHES her up against the wall. Oh yeah incredibly HOT. The other is when they are staying in Scotland and Vance finds himself with a very traditional piece of clothing. Let me whet your appetite a little and say Vance as a Highlander is an unbelievably SEXY image to have. I dare anyone to read the series, especially this book and NOT fall hopelessly in love with him.

When you read this book prepare yourself for the roller coaster. This is Lacey Weatherford at her finest and I’m chomping at the bit to see what she has in store for Portia and Vance. It couldn’t possibly get any better could it? If reading this book is anyway to guess, I think book 4 is going to blow me over and seal my fate as one of the greatest fan of the Of Witches & Warlock series. It’s a definite drop everything your doing, sell a kidney if you have to, it’s that important that you read it book. Enjoy!

Wow. The last 15% or so of this book was just a pure whirlwind. I'm speechless and it's taken my breath away. I can't believe that ending it completely threw me.

I can't wait to start the next book and find out what happens to Vance and how Portia deals with it. Urgh I'm so lost right now!

I was almost in tears with how absolutely heartbroken Portia was but I feel like she's lost a bit of herself as she always depends on Vance to be with her and it's like she feels like she's nothing without him whereas that isn't the case so hopefully if anything this ending will at least teach her that.

Right! I'm off to start the next book!

***NOTE MY REVIEWS OFTEN CONTAIN SPOILERS***

Vance Mangum and Portia Mullins are teenage soul mates. Due to the dangers of their lives as a witch and warlock, they marry young at the beginning of the story. Their honeymoon in Scotland doubles as a rescue mission for the mother Vance hasn't seen since he was a child. Their leads bring them to the home of Douglas and Fiona Cummings, Vance's wealthy grandparents who stand accused of keeping his mother Krista hostage. The Cummings seem to know nothing of what has happened to his mother of his recently deceased father, their own son. They welcome their long lost grandson into their lives with open arms and Portia and Vance are soon drawn into the Cummings lives of wealth and privilege. But all is not what it appears to be in the Cumming's household. Will Portia and Vance discover the truth before it's too late?

I really enjoy the second book in this series, but I have to say the third installment was a major let down after the previous book. The first quarter of the book might appeal to the pre-teen reader, but as an adult it definitely didn't appeal to me. I finally understand now why romance novelists end the book at the proposal. The wedding and subsequent honeymoon period leads to very dry and boring reading. "I love you" was said so many times it was like listening to a scratched cd stuck on the same line.

They got married and their lives seemed perfect. Yay for them, but frankly as a reader that bored me out of my mind. I know I said the relationship would be more realistic in previous books if it advanced to the next level, but I didn't mean a teen wedding and alluding to the couple have sex every other sentence. On a more comfortable note, we as a reader are at least spared any details of their constant honeymoon sex. We know they're doing it, but the scenes aren't spelled out like in an adult romance.

It didn't help that despite how in love the couple seemed, my mind completely rebelled against a high school wedding. I guess the point was demonstrating the moral idea that marriage should come before sex, but I don't think teens should be encouraged to marry that young for any reason.

The book starts to get interesting after the first quarter, and though I've never said this about a book before I recommend only skimming the first quarter so you don't loose interest in the story. The middle has an interesting plot line beginning to develop and some really good scenes.

What save this book from a bad rating is the last quarter of the novel. The battle scenes are intense, but the raw grief the character feels leaps from the page grabbing you. It yanks you into the pain she feels, giving you no choice but to experience it with her. The emotions and experience of the final quarter of this book are what make this novel worth reading.

The book has an odd, open style end that leaves you wanting to read more of the series curious about what will happen next in the saga of Portia and Vance.

Overall, I can't say this novel was better than okay. The first quarter of the book with all the happy, lovey dovey scenes really killed it for me. If you could cut the first quarter down to just a few pages and picked the book up from the middle, my rating would have been a lot higher. But you spend too long in the beginning waiting for something to actually happen with the plot for me to qualify this novel as good.

Romancing the Dark Side Review:

Another bewitching hit for Lacey Weatherford!

In this third installment of the series, we find Portia and Vance's relationship leading to an intense and surprisingly new level. Both are extremely young to embark on this huge commitment, but their characters and personalities are definitely old souls so their union seems natural and not questionable. What should be the happiest of days for them quickly turns into a full blown action-adventure when their ongoing search for Vance's mother takes them to Scottland, where he is reunited with his paternal grandparents. When his demonic side resurfaces, Portia and Vance learn this long awaited family reunion is nothing more than a trap and must put their love and lives to the test in order to prevent an ancient evil ritual that will separate them forever, from being performed.

What an emotional roller coaster! There are books that grip you from the first page, pull you into the story and make you forget about your surroundings and Blood of the White Witch did just that. I did not put this one down until I reached the very last page...and even then I wanted more! The relationship between Portia and Vance has never been so intense and solidifies these two are indeed soul-mates. I love their passion and how they stop at nothing to protect their love for one another. We finally see them in an intimate setting and Lacey does a spectacular job in unveiling their first time together...utter perfection!

Portia has definitely grown as a heroine and surprised me with her bold moves and perseverance. Vance is ever the sexy, bad boy hero who you fall in love with all over again. His dark family history is exposed a little deeper in this book and Vance is caught between the family he's always yearned for and his new life with Portia, but always manages to charm you with his strength and choices.

This story is filled with an abundance of emotion, intensity and passion, all while staying true to the young adult audience. That being said, it's also a story that will easily engage adult paranormal romance lovers within the first few pages, due to Ms. Weatherford's eloquent writing style. The events that unfold are never foreseen and the ending will blow your mind. Blood of the White Witch has all the great elements of a captivating story and Lacey Weatherford is a forced to be reckoned with!

OH MY GOD!

Ok, so there is one major issue that I would like to address.
So, not only is Portia SIXTEEN and Vance EIGHTEEN, which is kind of an issue all by itself. But for...months...Portia and Vance didn't use any protection when they had sex. I realize that they are married, but Portia is SIX-fucking-TEEN! And when the issue was actually brought up they both looking like a pair of JACKASSES. I mean, Portia's all like "Well I didn't even think about, we're so young and stupid and I'm a teenager that got married so I just forgot to put myself on some fucking birth control because I totally want to be a teen mom and end up on the show!" and Vance is just like "Well I've been trying to be careful but-" ...BUT NOTHING JACKASS! You are both children, you are both teenagers and you are married because you think you are so mature but your going to be immature enough to overlook something like that.

I'm sorry. That kind of ignorance just makes me angry.

Not to say this book wasn't INTENSE. It was so good! I'm in love with Vance, and I like Portia despite how she lets Vance do a liiiittle bit too much for her.

And let me just say, I was sobbing like the world as ending at the end. I was being a ridiculous maniac and sitting on my couch in the morning, crying my eyes out. I have never in my whole life cried like that when I'm reading. The last time I even cried like that during a book or movie or anything like that was the last time I watched The Land Before Time. No joke, Little Foot's mommy dies. That's sad.
Anyway, this book was veeeeery emotional.

I liked it a lot. I just started the fourth one because I couldn't wait another moment with the way this one ended.

I read this book in one night and I have to say that it is by far the best book in the series so far. Once again, it picks up the story of the two main characters, Portia and Vance, and moves forward at an incredible pace. The story was so engrossing to me that I cried and cried through part of the book, and I read the book through my tears. Ms. Weatherford has once again left us hanging on, waiting for the next book in the series. If you like magical and paranormal fiction with the fight of good versus evil, you'll love this book.

After another cliffhanger ending of The Demon Kiss, I was extremely excited once again to continue the series. Weatherford did a great job with the second installment. However, I felt that the third installment of this series did not hold up as highly to the second one.

Things are even more difficult for Portia and Vance. They have been through so much in the second book. Portia was tortured and exposed to many horrors. In the midst of the chaos, they attempt to start their new life as husband and wife. The book starts of where Portia and Vance are being married. The scene starts out really sweet. It was a great start to the book. The first quarter of the book is mainly focused on their romance. It is as combustible and passionate than before. It is awesome to see that the couple are finally bonded together for eternity after their rollercoaster life. However, there are more things being held in store.

This book focuses primary one the evilness of Vance's family and expands on Vance's origins. I really loved that we get to see where Vance's family came from. Turns out that his grandparents are no better than before. In fact, they are incredibly evil. I love the twists and turn that come from this revelation. Boy, I was on my feet for the most part of the book.

After the first quarter of the book, the pace really starts to take over. There are so many twists. New things are being revealed about the witches and warlock world. However, there were some major disappointments. I did not feel that Portia was the strong girl in the previous books. I felt that she became more weaker and was sort of a damsel in distress. Vance was awesome, but he was not the original Vance. I felt that he was not strong enough to fight the demonic transformation. I felt that he really just succumbed.

The secondary characters are still great. I love that we get to see more of Vance's mom and the truth about her. In addition, we get to see the unity of Portia's and Vance's coven. That unity really makes me want to be in their coven if I was a witch. Which (pun intended), I'm not.

Because of some disappointments in this book, this book will receive 4 stars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In the third book, Portia and Vance’s relationship intensifies amid growing supernatural chaos. Their search for Vance’s missing mother uncovers dangerous secrets and forces them to confront the resurgence of Vance’s demonic nature. The novel’s mix of romance, magic, and suspense culminates in a race against time to prevent an ancient ritual. With tested loyalties and powerful forces at play, this installment delivers emotional depth and escalating tension, appealing to fans invested in the series’ evolving mythology and couple dynamics.

I love love love LOVE this book and I love love love LOVE Vance Mangum. Regular readers will know how much I love this series and this book didn't let me down. Each book keeps getting better and better, I didn't know it was even possible. I have never cried so much or shouted so much at a book in my life. This is one rollercoaster of a ride, full of ups and downs.

Portia, grew as a character in this book I felt. She is strong willed and determined. Her love for Vance is so strong, it is her world and nothing will stop her from being and spending the rest of her life with him.

Vance got to find out more about his past in this book, where he comes from and what he may become. No matter what life throws at him, his loyalty, strength and passion for Portia never falters. He is the perfect man.

I loved the setting of most of this book, as it was set in my homeland of Scotland. I live here and I love it, so it made this book more special to me. Lacey, did her research well and got everything spot on.

The ending to this book is, wow!! You will not be able to wait for the next installment. You have to read this book, you will not be disappointed.

I would recommend this book to everyone. It's a fun, exciting and romance filled ride.

This book was a disappointment compared to the first two. It is getting 3 stars because I love the characters so much. If not...

**CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS**

As I wipe the last of my tears away, I write this review...That shows you how much loyalty I have...

I have to say I am a bit annoyed with Vance and Portia for their lack of caution. Without any kind of thought they jump right into a very unknown and potentially deadly situation by accepting a ride to an unknown location from a stranger essentially without letting anyone know. That being said, it plays right into their naivety and inexperience. If things seem too good to be true, then it probably is. And honestly, how could you not notice the drinking right away? That was just plain stupid. Well, I guess that's just being a 16 year old...

One of my biggest complaints is that Portia seems to lack any kind of free will/thought. She ALWAYS chooses Vance over her family, friends, and coven. I understand love and devotion, I have been there once before (and am currently there but 100% content) but the first time (when I was their age) led to disaster. Perhaps that's just foreshadowing though? Another HUGE problem I had was Vance's plethora of promises of undying love and how he would do anything to be with her and protect her, yet he selfishly drops everything to rescue his mom, which I understand is very dear to him and all but honestly how selfish and dumb. Wait for back up man. Lastly, did NO ONE think to give them a birds-and-the-bees talk or AT LEAST talk about protection/contraceptives of some sort? I know the wedding took place very quickly but it's Vegas, I'm sure you could call room service and get some condoms delivered! Sigh...

Anyhow - decent plot, but I think it could have been better. The author does an okay job of describing the couple's intimate moments without saying too much. It can get repetitive after awhile, especially since the first 60% of the book is dedicated to them on their honeymoon. Beyond that, I think this book gets a little predictable in plot: Vance and Portia continue to stick to each other like glue, they put stupidly put themselves in a dangerous situation, the coven from Sedona has to rescue them, they make a plan that includes staking out the villain, s**t goes down, someone gets hurt. I do admit that the climax was a bit of a game changer and a real tear-jerker, except that the ending brought it all back to the predictable-ness that ran rampant throughout this book.

I hope things pick up in book #4! Otherwise I'll feel sad for wasting money :(.

With spinechilling suspense and passionate romance this spectacular magical creation is heart-stopping.

‘Of Witches and Warlocks’ is a brilliant series that beautifully merges together young adult romance with a paranormal twist, as to create something truly spellbinding. Exciting and shocking, I was glued to the pages lost within a remarkable creation that is intense and thoroughly gripping. I was delighted to find the balance between the two genres (YA & Fantasy) to be perfect, where one compliments the other and so the romance (although enchanting) doesn’t detract from the magic of this tale. Lacey Weatherford’s vivid imagination is astonishing and I was mesmerized by Portia and Vance’s chemistry, which draws you in like any powerful love story filled with hope and togetherness. Heartrending and poignant you will be swept away by the subtlety at the beginning, then hypnotized by the heated ardor right up to the dramatic, climatic ending that is breathtaking!

Character-driven and fueled by electric tension, you are instantly drawn into Novice Witch Portia’s tale wherein she irrevocably falls deeply in love with handsome ‘bad boy’ Vance Mangum. Propelled into a mission to seek out Vance’s mother one begins to question trust and sincerity, for underneath Vance’s exterior lies a Demon within…With the truth comes shattered dreams and nightmares, which escalate as they endeavor to prevent an ancient ritual being carried out. Love, loyalty and family ties are tested to the limit as Vance and Portia’s love is threatened to the point of eternal separation – with danger coming knocking on the door.

Where Warlocks and archaic prophecies collide and devoted lovers are torn, comes a tale of two characters whose strength of spirit is commendable as they plough ahead through adversity and fight for what is right. The thrilling third installment within ‘Witches and Warlocks’ series is simply stunning, and reminiscent of the deep love between Lena and Ethan (Beautiful Creatures). I would highly recommend this to readers who like the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling or anything magical and fantasy (Twilight, the worst witch, Golden Compass ect.). Also, if you enjoy teenage romance then this is a real treat and I would prepare yourself for an all-night reading marathon with an unputdownable page-turner!

Where do I start with this book??? My initial thought is WOW I didn't see the ending coming. Blood of the White Witch is book 3 in the series "Of Witches and Warlocks" by Lacey Weatherford. As with book 2 it continues on from where the previous book ended in the lives of Vance and Portia.

Vance and Portia go on honeymoon and combine it with the search for his captured MOTHER, yes the same person who Vance believed he had killed in the first book!?! Whilst on the hunt for his Mother they meet his Grandparents who "seem" to good to be true (and usually if something seems like this, its because it is!) Vance has "Shutters over his eyes" as he want's his Grandparents to be the family he never had whilst growing up.

Things are not what the pair had hoped them to be and once again they found themselves in a situation they couldn't handle on their own, but one that they were also unable to request help to solve. Although, later in the book they are assisted.

The information about the White Witches and The Awakening was what the story needed to get you away from Vance and Portia's intense romance. Even though it was linked to them, it made a good change to the reading. It is following this information that the story changes tone and moves from all the lovey-stuff to magic, spells, battles and more (the love is still there but seems to take a bit of a back seat).

And then comes a big punch from the Author, and once again you are on a roller-coaster of emotions with young Portia. The story progresses to a big cliffhanger of an ending!

I think the story would have been better had Portia been 17 instead of 16 when they got married as that would have added a bit more realism to it all. I also think they should have had a more adult approach to the whole contraception issue as the previous books are going on about how they were going to wait etc (this seemed more realistic than how things actually happened.) The only other downside was the constant "I love you" from them both.

Sad to say that I didn't enjoy book 3 as much as I enjoyed the previous 2. I still wanted to read the story and find out where the book was going and what twists were in this installment, and I wasn't let down there were a lot of twists in the story. Despite this I already have book 4 ready to read and I can't wait to get started!

Blood of the White Witch is the third book in the Of Witches and Warlocks series by Lacey Weatherford. This instalment in the series is full of action, passion and love. Best of all, it’s set in Scotland.

Portia and Vance are still overcoming their ordeal with Damien Cummings (Vance’s father) from The Demon Kiss. Vance decides he wants to dig deeper into the confession that Darcy had made regarding his mother and his father’s family. This takes them on a journey to Scotland where they find more than they had bargained for.

I absolutely loved this book. Vance was his usual sexy and awesome self and Portia was sort of taking a bit of a back seat in this story, but we do see her powers developing. This book was more about Vance looking into his family history and Portia, being part of his family, was there every step of the way for support. Sometimes delving into the unknown can lead to good things, but unfortunately for our hero and heroine, something always goes wrong. Vance learns more about why his father was performing the demonic rituals on him when he was a child and the heritage that comes with it. Portia also learns more about herself in this book but what she finds out is the cause for landing her and Vance in their predicament half way through the book.

My heart actually broke at the end of this book. It was such a heart wrenching cliff hanger to be left on but it builds immense suspense and a brilliant set up for the next book in the series, The Dark Rising. My favourite moment in this book had to be when Vance and Portia newly got to Scotland and involves some sexy Scottish attire.

Overall, loved this book and love the series. Vance and Portia’s story is timeless and I would recommend everyone to pick the series up and have a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Title Thoughts: Perfect.
Cover Thoughts: I love how it shows the chemistry between them.
WARNINGS: Delicious love.

What can I say? Weatherford just swept me away…again! I love this series and this book did not fail my expectations. There is the sweet love that no one who reads this series can get enough of. There is even further development of that sweet love and mysterious happenings and action. I don’t have anything to say that could improve this book. For me, it’s perfect as is.

As usual, Weatherford leaves me dying for more and more and MORE. There is no way I could ever get tired of this series or its characters. I love, love, LOVE it. I would like to compare my love for this series to my love for Jessica Park’s Flat-Out Love, but FOL is on it’s own level all by itself. But I do love this series just as much, I just can’t compare the two. If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know how to convince you.

The third book in the Of Witches and Warlocks starts just days after The Demon Kiss ends, drawing you immediately in to the lives of Portia and Vance once again. Portia is in a relationship more intense that she could never have foreseen for herself at this point in her life, and she couldn't be happier about it. Within days, she and Vance are gone, searching for answers about Vance's mother. Upon finding family that he had never known, they are happy for awhile, basking in the joy Vance feels at having a family again. But that joy doesn't last and Vance and Portia find themselves in a place and situation that they can't get out of alone. Help arrives, but the horror and the pain doesn't end for them. They find themselves up against and evil that they couldn't have imagined and they need to find away out of it. But things don't always go as planned,...

This book, in my opinion, was the darkest of the three overall. These characters are so well-developed that they evoke the same compassionate feelings in the reader as if they were real people. The angst and turmoil that Vance went through at various times throughout the story was almost palpable, as was Portia's worry and love for him. The frustration they felt with situations that were impossible was almost overwhelming at times, in a good way. I thoroughly love the fact that, with every one of these books, I am drawn into the story so completely that I feel as if I am involved. Did I mention that towards the end of the book, I was bawling my brains out?! The cliffhangers that end each book are so well done and unexpected that they are virtually art forms! Once again, I loved it!

If you haven't read this series yet you really need to!!!!!

Dang I love this series, it is so intense and awesome! Portia and Vance are such great characters and each book is always packed with action and plenty of twists and turns! Plus the scenes between Portia & Vance are generally adorable. However, in this book things are kicked way up!!! There are so many great parts in this book and I am so mad it took me so long to read it (stupid work, lol)! I don't want to give too much away, so I will just say that Portia & Vance are too adorable in this book & Vance's family is crazy! Also in general this book doesn't disappoint and this series gets better with each book, you never know what is going to happen! There were some scenes that really got me in this book too.

I love both Portia & Vance so much! Portia can hold her own, but lets Vance take care of her. And Vance is a macho bad boy (which definitely comes out in this book!), but also incredibly adorable & sweet. He and Portia make such an awesome couple! Their scenes together are always my favorite and there is no shortage of those in this book, lol! Ahh shoot I can't say much more without giving anything away, but I really loved them in this book! The lines between them are awesome too, there are always some really good ones. It just goes to show how perfect they are for each other. They are so young but half the time I don't even realize it. Shelly & Brad are fun characters too!

Okay I could talk about this series all day long, but I really don't want to give anything away so that it is ruined. So I will say that I am super excited to read the next book! Go read this series now because I highly recommend it!

I'm so heartbroken! This one is kind of a 3.75 stars for me. *SPOILER ALERT* for the first half of the book, I was a little annoyed. Portia and Vance fell too easily for his grandparent's lies, I saw through them immediately and I was irritated that after all they'd gone through, they didn't even suspect anything. Then the going off on their own like there aren't demon witches looking for them... come on guys! Use your brains please! Also, once again, the way these two talk to each other got under my skin. In the first two books, it was the way Vance expressed his love that bothered me, but in this one, they both had lines that had me rolling my eyes. Portia is sixteen. Even mature for her age, why does she have to keep responding with "that sounds lovely"? Lovely? Really? I mean, maybe its just me, I seem to have this issue with a lot of books these days but I would imagine a sixteen year old girl saying "cool" or "nice." Another thing that got to me was the fact that Portia specifically expressed how she felt about Vance leaving her behind. When he killed Brian, he left! You don't leave your wife in the kitchen with the body you just took life from Vance! Then when they saw his mom on the news, there he went again. He left her again!

*big breath* The second half of the book saved this series for me though. Regardless of the dialogue and certain actions, I've really like this story and I tried to look past my irritation to keep going. There in the second half, the story took a turn I didn't expect. I found myself near tears in the end and now I HAVE to read book 4... *sighs*

My thoughts:
~ short version ~
Yet another wild ride from Lacey Weatherford! We see the same incredible characters in this story that we have come to know and love in the first two books in this series and only come to love them more! Another must read!

Blood of the White Witch is filled with danger, romance, intrigue, trust, deception, and love. The story starts off right where we left off in book two and the plot hits the ground running. Once again Lacey has created a phenomenal story that keeps you turning the pages!

~long version~ (spoiler alert)
I was impressed that Lacey Weatherford was able to create such an intense, emotional, young adult romance without ever losing the integrity of the YA part of that romance. She was able to communicate the tremendous physical attraction between Vance and Portia without being graphic.
I couldn't put this one down! The story has more twists than ever before with the deception and betrayal of more of Vance's family. I was sad when I realized that they were playing on his desire to be a part of a family, although I was expecting them to not be what they seemed to be. So many people in this one are not who and what they appear to be, but we do get to meet new and helpful people in this book too.
The struggle of good against evil continues......
I couldn't put this one down - read it cover to cover in one sitting! Got to the end - devastated! I only wish book 4 was available - I don't know how I will survive the wait!

Blood of the White Witch jumps right into the story with a shocking and highly original twist. I will leave you the delight of gasping over it in surprise. I had my hand over my mouth to stifle my giggles for the first five minutes of the book.

I love Vance and Portia. They are both so very young but in possession of wisdom beyond their years. They have real problems sometimes in their relationship (though often exaggerated by magical mayhem) and they work through them intelligently and with understanding.

Vance is totally swoonworthy. He is handsome, strong, very protective, occasionally fierce, passionate, kind and loyal. He also has a strong belief in God, which is unusual and welcome in a YA hero.

The characteristic that stood out most in Portia, to me anyway, was her pure stubborn determination. No matter how bad things get, she finds hope and no matter what happens with Vance, be it evil relatives or demonic possession, she retains her belief that they will prevail. I also love their sense of humor. They are forever teasing each other and their friends, reminding you that they are still teenagers.

The plot is interesting, full of strange developments and disturbing twists. With this series, one never knows precisely what will happen next...and where would the fun be if you did?

I would recommend this book to lovers of (mostly) light YA romance and paranormal fantasy.

This series is very different from what I usually read in the YA area. I jumped into it without reading the first two books, but that was ok, because things are explained nicely so that a new reader won't be too confused.

The relationship between Portia and Vance kinda creeps me out because I know there ages...16 and 18. A lot of sex goes on...though its alluded to rather than described, since this is a YA novel. These two have a very passionate relationship. The thing that doesn't sit well with me is Vance. Not that I don't love him, because he's the kind of hero we all want. Super alpha male, ready to do anything to protect his lady..but he feels like he's older than 18. Portia on the other hand doesn't seem as mature. It was the one thing I had a hard time getting past in the story. Oh and for Portia's protection, the two are married.

The story itself is awesome. I was totally taken in by Douglas and Fiona, Vance's grandparents, when the couple were in Scotland. The fact that they weren't what they seemed was a total shock to me. The conflict they bring to the story really is gripping. I was totally intrigued by "The Awakening" and the "White Witch Coven."

Again, I wish the passion were a little more toned down between Vance and Portia, because for me it detracted from the action, but that is me.

I really want to go back and read the first two books in the series so I can tie everything together.

Rating: 4 flowers

*Spoiler Alert*

Well. What can I say? I was no where near as happy with this book. The level of ooey - goody was totally out of hand this time.... to the point I wanted to just either stop reading or skip over the kissing scenes. I am not sure if it was amped up to convey the devotion between Portia & Vance, but I was feeling a little irritated with the two of them. The constant professions of love and 'I couldnt't live without you's' and the reassuring speeches... ya, they left me thinking these two characters who started off so strong were falling a little flat and ending up looking way lame like some love sick teenagers.

But I really wanted to smack them when they so willingly believed. the grandparents were good...even after Darcy told them they were holding Vance's mom. I'm no genius, but I'm sure not gonna take the word of some stranger, especially when my own dad just tried to take my girlfriend for himself & then drain me dry! Hello!!!!!!!!

Despite all this I still liked the way the magic mystery was unfolding, twisted as it was.....until you get to the last sentence and now Vance is conveniently alive with AMNESIA? I am starting to think the series should have been wrapped up neatly at the end of the second book......But of course I'm going to read the next ones....and hopefully since Vance can't remember he's supposed to be fawning all over Portia's every move...I can get through it a little more easily!

*This review will have spoilers if you have not read the previous books in this series

Wow, this was an emotional book! This book starts off with Portia and Vance getting married. Now, Portia is only 16, so this may seem strange. Portia seems older than that though so somehow it just works. Vance and Portia have been waiting for marriage to be intimate, which is really sweet. Not that many teens wait these days. Vance and Portia are soulmates and are just perfect for each other so it was nice to see them finally be intimate with each other even though they are young. I would still consider this a young adult book though - the sex is not graphic at all.

I really enjoy the chemistry that Vance and Portia have. Even though they've been together for awhile, and they've kissed hundreds of times, it is still just as passionate as it was in the beginning. I love how the author is able to keep that passion so strong between these characters.

Once again, Vance and Portia go through a lot of challenging situations together. There were some extremely sad moments that will make you cry. You can't help but feel all these emotions with Portia. There was a major twist at the end of the book that had me stunned. Be prepared for a major cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the 4th and final book in this series!

I read this a day or so ago and I still don't know what to type, my mind is still frazzled.and not because it was bad it was far from it. It was amazing and probably my favorite so far out of the series, just this book was literally a roller coaster ride of emotions, with plenty of those kisses that Lacey is famous for.

Vance and Portia head to Scotland in hopes of finding his mother and end up in cluster of a mess and it doesn't stop until the very end which I must say -- 'loud scream' inserted here because Lacey left us hanging like she did. I thought the last cliffhanger was bad, but I think this one tops any ending I have ever read. I better stop before I give anything away and you might smack me. I just wish I could talk to someone that has read it before I explode because I am stunned , shocked and in disbelief,. Look at me ramble on when I said wouldn't I'm sorry. Did I mention how hot those kisses were in this book? I did, didn't I ?

But if you read the previous two books, you will devour this book in no time I did. And if its possible to love these characters anymore this book will do it. Sorry for the previous ramble I just-- never mind. Just get this book asap is all I have left to say. I really need book 4, Dark Rising Like now, not tomorrow.

I Received An ARC Of This Book In Exchange For My Honest Review

Ends with a cliffhanger.

This series just keeps getting better. This has to be my favorite series by Lacey. She keeps managing to surprise me with her stories. This one is no different and had some of the biggest shocks of the series to date.

With Vance's dad being dead you're left thinking soon they will be able to start living their lives again, but that isn't the case. We're going to go to Scotland instead and face a whole new danger while trying to discover if Vance's mom is still alive.

The chemistry between Vance and Portia continues to grow stronger. They are having problems controlling themselves whenever they touch one another. I love that about them. Lacey does a great job portraying their love and how far they will go for one another in the story.

We learn a little history on the "White Witches" in this book. It was all quite interesting to learn more about Vance's family. We get to see a bit more of Vance's power and I'm starting to see how powerful he really is. I'd love to see more of it though. I loved this book and the fact that it ends with a cliff hanger has me dying to see what's next for Portia, Vance, their friends, family, and Coven.

I'm finding it harder and harder to review the Of Witches and Warlocks series without writing spoilers for the previous books. I must say that it really seems like each book is just a little better than the book before, and so far this one is definitely my favorite. In Blood of the White Witch Vance and Portia are happier than ever, and even more passionate than ever. All sweet and gooey. I found parts of this story to be a little predictable but then later when the story jerked the rug out from under me I suspected that maybe the author had lulled me into that state of predictability on purpose. Tricky tricky! Just a couple of warnings, this book had me crying, really more like sobbing actually, and be prepared for a MAJOR cliffhanger! I am in desperate need of the fourth book! The Of Witches and Warlocks series has become one of my very favorite.

I know this review is short and sweet but everything that I want to say is SO spoilery. Instead of giving anything away I'm just going to leave you now with a reminder that if you love sweet, sweet romance stories then you have just found a series that is sure to become one of your favorites.

I got this book from the author free of cost in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author and the publisher for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.
In this third installment the lovers will race against time to turn the odds in favor of them and their love. Will they succeed when Vance’s demonic aspects threaten his very beliefs about himself? What will happen when the great and grave secrets come out? Will they be able to find Vance’s mother? What about the ritual that will change magic forever, will they succeed in stopping it on time or will time separate them forever?
Wow!!! This series gets better with each upcoming sequel. I never thought that this series will knock me over and made me squeal with joy and get tensed with fear and crazy in anticipation. The suspense is well kept and the mystery regarding Vance’s mother, the ritual kept me hooked in. The plot is well planned out and the characters developed a lot in this part. Loved it!!! Give this series a shot guys and you’ll love it as well. Great job done and the author really changed my viewpoint about this series with this 3rd installment.

I TOTALLY do not know HOW I am supposed to write this review without throwing spoilers ALL over the place! Oooookay, so per usual Lacey Weatherford pulls us DIRECTLY into the story- immediately submerging us into the world of Vance and Portia's love... *GASP* soooo DYING to spill here!!

In Blood of the White Witch Vance and Portia are looking for Vance's mother, who was presumed dead... you know because Vance killed her in the FIRST book. Right? I know! Turns out that Vance's father had been HIDING her the entire time and Vance had actually killed a shape shifter instead!

Seriously, this book is WICKED intense... So romantic... I freaking laughed and then I CRIED! The end of the book is crazy! HUGE cliffhanger... complete with a major twist in the plot that I so didn't see coming!

I'm going to give you a teensy hint of one of my favorite parts that won't make a bit of sense to you until you read the books!

"Look at the two of us." He grinned seductively while continuing to run his thumb over my lower lip. "Fire and Ice ... literally." ~Vance

I began book three with mounds of excitement left from book two. Blood of the White Witch did not disappoint at all. Taking on some of the darkest deadliest truths in their lives left me reeling in hopes that this was not the end of this couples fight to stay together. This part of the story seems to be so much darker than ever before. As I continued on I began to wonder if they would be able to make it through a magical dark world of upside down shifts. The truth is out but is does true love conquer all or is it all just a fairy tale dream that I made up in my head for Portia and Vance. Everything these two have ever been known to be true may just send them spiraling into a darkness that has the ability to take over. What an adventurous thrill ride that I could not put down. I am so excited to reach the next book that I can not believe that I have be come so wrapped up in. This series is as addictive as bubble wrap!
