Somewhere between a level 1 and level 2 reader, this is a fun story about Spongebob eating too much ice cream with Patrick. It was a great choice for my 5 yr old's reading lesson today, as it's something he can read on his own, and I can just quiz him about it later. He enjoyed this one, but there were others he liked better. He didn't think there was enough "action".
This is a weird book it’s obviously a tie in to the SpongeBob movie but it takes place during the Krusty Krab two ceremony up to the part avoir Krabs frying. The ending of this just ends with SpongeBob saying he’s going to shell city on almost a cliff hanger. I’m wondering if there is another picture book tie in just like this that’s meant to continue the plot of the movie in picture book form. For the fact that it ends abruptly it’s not good but since most who would read this probably know the plot of the SpongeBob movie I can forgive that. Otherwise it’s just a bland retelling of these aforementioned parts of the movie with clear censorship of scenes because the movie got away with a lot.
We loved your rendition of Ice-Cream Dreams by Nancy E. Krulik! It sounds like you learned about teamwork and how you can achieve your dreams! “Teamwork with friends and never giving up will help you achieve your dreams. You can learn from this lesson and always stay together to achieve your goal with your friends. Love, Mom and Dad
This book started nowhere, went nowhere and ended nowhere. Spongebob sets his sights on becoming the Manager of the new Crusty Crab 2. He gets disappointed when Squidward is appointed to the position. So he goes to the local kids bar and gets drunk happy on Ice Cream. Then comes back to find that the Flyin Dutchman is holding Mr. Crabs hostage because he thought Mr. Crabs stole some sort of crown. Then Spongebob declares that he will go on a mission to retrieve the crown......and that's it. That's all there is....
Apparently this was based off of a section of the Spongebob movie. Not worth it kids. This book is a waste of time.
As a kid book goes, the pictures do coincide with what the words say. But the word print is rather small for a child to read on their own. This book is really meant for two things. First, for an older kid...let's say 4th or 5th grader to remember the Spongebob movie and or Secondly, to promote the Spongebob movie.
I read this to my two special needs teenage sons and although I personally don't like SpongeBob I read it because they like him so much. This story wasn't one of the super hyper ones (although at times my youngest son informed me that I wasn't doing the sound effects like the movie so beware if your child has watched this episode they will try and correct you :) SpongeBob is disappointed in not being advanced to management in the new crusty crabs at being told his a child and not a 'man' but at the end of the book King Triton needs someone to go help him and SpongeBob is determined to show he's a man... so leaves it open for the next book.
this book is about sponge bob and that he want to be the manger of the kristy krib 2.and mr.krabs let squirdward get the job.sponge bob got mad and sponge bob and partrik want to go get some icecream and they stay up all night and they was very sleeply. then he went to the kristy krab and he was mad that he did get the job. and he got mad because mr.krabs called him a kid.
This one comes straight out of a Spongebob episode, so the story is not a surprise if you've seen it. It's better written than some of the other Spongebob books out there.
