I barely read stories made by Pinoys. It is not because I have low regards as to the literary capability of my kababayan. Wala lang talaga akong mabasang maganda.
When She's Dating the Gangster went viral, I ordered myself a copy and it was pretty okay to me. Not the it-was-so-awesome tear-jerker type of book but it was refreshing and I enjoyed it.
Then, here comes Diary ng Panget by HaveYouSeenThisGirl. I downloaded the WATTPAD COMPLETE COPY from the internet since I've heard a lot of positive comments, 5-star ratings(?) so I decided to try and read it. And here is a list of my comments:
1. THAT GRAMMAR. SUCH BRAVERY. I have no grudge against the author but if she dreamt of something this big, she had to think of the ways to be a good author. Check ka sa passion and dedication but the grammar? Oh, girl. Napa face palm ako ng madaming beses. Sorry na kung napaka Nazi ko but then even the most common of errors, nakita ko sa raw story. Sana man lang she let someone read it first before publishing if she is not confident with her grammar, hindi 'yung ay push ko to! i pupublish ko na! madaming natutuwa sa story ko!Akala ko, baka once lang yung error. Pero ng paulit ulit na yung grammatical errors, I decided to just ignore them and continue with the story.
2. SAME SHIT, DIFFERENT SCENARIO. Okay. Gets ko naman na nag start 'yung story na inis sa pangit si Cross at inis si Reah kay Cross kasi antipatiko siya. Pero andami masyadong scenes na nagbabangayan sila, to the point na nakakasawa na. Parang linagay lang mga scenes na mga yun to make the story long. Kudos to She;'s Dating the Gangster, the book was short but at least hindi ganito na pinapaikot ikot yung kuwento, pati characters niya gulong-gulo na.
3. WHAT'S WITH THE SMILEYS? Okay na yung mga :), :D, :"> na smileys pero yung ang hahaba na smileys na ginamit na ata lahat ng symbols !@#$%^&*()[];'./,<>?:"{}+_, NALOKA AKO.
4. PROPER SPELLING OF FILIPINO WORDS Okay, fine. Wattpad naman siya. Hindi siya formal. Pero 'di ba, wala lang. Irita ako sa mga ganyan, hayaan niyo na. Always start a sentence with a capitalized first letter of the first word. And to end a sentence, laging isang tuldok (.) or tatlo (...) and nothing else. Tapos it's niyan not nyan. My gosh! Ano to, text text? Wer na u, dito na me, w8 lang shish?
Ultimate face palm.
Pero added one star, kasi at least napatawa ako ng librong 'to. There were better parts pero all in all, it deserves to be in Wattpad and nowhere else. Sorry :(
Alam ko harsh but is there any other way to point out the flaws?

gawd cross is in love with eya...seriously... but i kinda figured it out still
im shocked (like what the hell is he saying?!!)
im confused (why would a guy like him would like a girl like her)
im tongue tied (s**t like what sort of reply your mind can process at that moment)
im...KILIG MUCH!!!!
well ive never laugh that much reading a book since Elle Casey so... very well done... that was a major mojo and by that i really really admire your work your writing skills and your imagination...
when exactly on September the next book release? i cant wait...

I like this book better than the other books since it made me laugh. The other books? Not so much.
Okay. So I'm going to keep this review brief. This book, I think, is a lot better than the first two because it's where the real story began. I'm not sure about this (since I haven't read the story on wattpad) but I heard that the first three books are actually one book cut into three. Why the hell did they do that? It's very irritating for a reader like me especially since the first two books has no climax in them.
But since I liked where this one is going, I think I'll buy the fourth book just to find out what'll happen.

Is this the end of it all? Will there be more? Okay, let's go review this one...
I am going nuts here. How long will they prolong the agony? And I mean the author and the publisher. How many books will this series release? Are they trying to beat Twilight or Harry Potter and please don't tell me they'll go Game of Thrones on it?
AND they're making a film out of it. Although I'm still clueless on what to feel about it, deep inside I'm excited.
Boys over Flowers, Kaichou wa Maid-sama in a Filipino setting. I hope they make a good film out of it. I'm not much of a mainstream Star Cinema junkie (I heard Viva Films and Star Cinema will partner up to make this film into reality), but if they nail it in a good way, I'll watch it. :))

isang simpleng kwento na may large fan base na author. nakakatuwa kung mababaw na kwento ang hanap mo pero kung isa kang wide reader at sanay sa NY times bestsellers, magtataka ka kung bakit napaka-successful nito.
isa pa, bakit pinahaba ng 4 volumes eh kung iku2mpara mo sa ibang story ng psicom, mas maikli to. sorry for the term pero mejo "money milking" ang peg.
well, as I said, HUMONGOUS FAN BASE OF THE AUTHOR.. peace po, nothing against. just how I see it.

The story isn't the best written and it's filled with cliches but it was enjoyable despite it all and it made me laugh and smile anyways. There are offensive jokes in it but I guess it's cause it was made years ago and the author was younger at the time. It's cliche romcom but it wasn't pretentious so it didn't make me cringe when reading.

Okay..let's see here. First I need to remind myself why I wanted to read this book. Yes, I was curious and yes, I loved the bickering. But so far, this is my least liked installment. Why? Though I love the bickering I hated the fact that it is dragging on. It's like Eya is going round in circles with what she's feeling. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that Cross finally told her he liked her (Hallelujah) but I hated the fact that the lines were beyond sarcasm. But of course, I would read the last installment to this series and again as I always said during the last two books, my teenage self would've like this better...sort of.

Haaaay sa wakas umamin na rin si Cross na may gusto siya kay Eya, kilig talaga ako super.. The question is ano kaya magiging reaction dito ni Eya ngayon umamin na rin si Cross?.. Alam ko naman na from the very beginning galit na galit si Eya kay Cross, lagi masungit, lagi niya nilalait si Eya na panget siya hehehe then all of a sudden bigla siya aamin na may gusto siya. Woohoo! I can't wait to release the last series of "Diary ng Panget" :))

Just to reiterate, I like the book and the series because of the plot, the humor, and the simplicity of ot all. You can criticize it all you want for its grammatical errors and whatnot, but that still won't stop me from saying I enjoyed reading this book.
If you want a light-hearted, telenovela-like book where you don't have to think too much, or a story where you'd rather just sit back and watch how things unfold, this books is for you.
Good points: humor, developing main characters, cliche setting with not so cliche storyline (unlike the usual telenovela), and cuteness.

I saw the movie first, and loved it! I had to watch it subtitled though since I couldn't understand it some of the words. Glad to see a fellow Aussie Pinoy doing a great job in his first acting gig.. This book is mostly in Tagalog which I had a hard time to read, I understand Tagalog fluently but when you add a lot of tagolog slang in it- basically I needed to get used to it. It doesn't really read like how a book normally would, but nonetheless twas a pretty entertaining read..

A very cute story . Here in this story you'll laugh , cry ,be crazy and learn. Learn to accept other people's company without hesitation . Just like how Eya accept Cross beside of his bad attitude . Actually , Cross is not that bad at all . Eya is the first to know it . So guys must read Diary Ng Panget Season 3 ^_^ .
