The world didn’t end in December 2012 as the Mayans predicted. Advanced as they may have been, they got it wrong! What did happen though, was the launch of an eye-opening new novel that questions the existence of such super humans and how they could indeed be involved in a coming apocalypse…

`A Pale Horse’ by Wendy Alec is a mind-blowing reading adventure. It focuses on cataclysmic future events through the framework of a fast-paced fictional story and touches on everything from global government, martial law and pandemic to the Extra-Terrestrial and UFOs, along with genetic contamination and human cloning.

The fourth book in the `Chronicles of Brothers’ fantasy series, `A Pale Horse’ continues to uncover the parallel worlds of the angelic brothers: Gabriel, Michael and Lucifer and the earthly brothers: Jason, Adrian and Nick. It’s a riveting story that goes beyond sibling rivalry or brotherly camaraderie, spanning the eons of time, with many different subplots and a full cast of characters, some endearing and others definitely not, in an all out war of good against evil.

You can read the Chronicles books in sequence starting with `The Fall of Lucifer’ followed by `Messiah, the First Judgement’ and `Son of Perdition’ or you can just as well start with `A Pale Horse’. I think it’s a great introduction to the series, which will entice you to read the other books as the sheer magnitude of the plot captivates you.

`A Pale Horse’ reveals hidden secrets of the past, conspiracies of the present as well as many eternal truths. It is filled with intrigue and suspense, is not without humour and laced with a touch of romance.

Were there giants on the earth at one time? A mixed race with superior intelligence? What is the basis of mythology? Who were the Titans? Could they have been from another planet? What does this have to do with the extermination of millions of people or of the cover up of the disappearance of millions more? Who will be killed, who will defy death, who will be martyred and will Jason get back with Julia?

Through the Chronicles Series Wendy Alec continues to build her reputation as a best-selling author of mainstream fiction. In `A Pale Horse’ Wendy offers an ingenious, fresh perspective that I’ve never heard of before, on what could take place in the world in the years that lie ahead. Throughout `A Pale Horse’ the challenge is there to make your life count. It’s a worthy wake-up call for the world today.

More silly apocalyptic conspiracy theorising - this time it turns out that a UN vaccination programme is actually a satanic gene-editing programme (and that gene-editing counts as genocide). And inevitably, it turns out that midwest patriotism and the 2nd Amendment are the last bastions against the devil.

Two things struck me about the theology here, first, that *actual God* doesn't feature all that much. The focus is all on the angels, who are nominally on God's side but they mostly just get on with things. When Jesus does show up, everyone gets very emotional, but he doesn't really engage with anything - it feels more like a force of nature than a personal interaction.
Second, the angels all have their titles, relative statuses and power structures, and Lucifer is presented as violating those power structures. This is, I'm pretty sure this is a common pattern in mythology, but the one breaking the rigid power structures is usually the *good guy*, opening the way for a new world of creativity and life.
So yeah, it feels to me like this has a lot to say about conservatism, but surprisingly little about christianity.

Yet another awesome book in this series. Yes, the typos are annoying and it definitely needs a good editor to fix the many typos, but honestly I am able to skim over that stuff if the story is interesting enough. I really feel that the characters are developing well, especially the angels like Jether, Zacheriel & of course Michael, Gabriel & Lucifer. But also the human characters as well. It stresses me out that there are 2 more books in this series but only books 1-4 are listed on on Goodreads... Hopefully that doesn't mean it'll be too long before the next is published

Great book, apocalyptic fantasy at its finest! Patiently waiting for book 5 to come out now! Love that the series are littered with references to historical events which actually occurred in the past to make you question what's really going on behind closed doors.. Definitely recommend the read but start with book 1!

When I started to read this series, I was lead to believe it would be a 3 book series, but it seems that someone has decided to stretch it ou. The book is portayed as fiction and very interesting about the end of times, and I will probably end up reading the last book because the story is fascinating, but I do appreciate trilogies!

This is a very engaging book. I enjoyed it. This series is really good. It keeps the pace. A person grows to really liking the characters. It is worth the time to read. This series of course is a work of fiction but nevertheless it is fast paced
and lively. Currently there are five books in this series. There is suppose to be 7. So two are still to come.

Really great concepts and twist on the war between Good and Evil from the viewpoint of Gods Angels something that is not written enough about in Biblical fantasy or for that matter at all. The first two books had me hooked! Loved the way the author pulled back the curtain and presented the view of what it might have been like for the unseen forces (Angels) that help insure Gods plan. The description of Heaven was a little far fetched but beautiful none the less and the formalities procedures and laws governing both sides of Good and Evil was for me impressive how the author constructed the legal arena. It was also amazing how the author brought the reader from before mankind to (when the book ended) present day. The most impressive portion of reading for me was how the author blended in what some might consider conspiracy theory themes and actual reading and quotes from past and present day leaders with the characters throughout the series. Overall a great storyline and Biblical fantasy maybe even a possible theory to debate about, but the series for me did start to fall apart into the third book.
Like I said before the storyline she presented was fantastic but I believe was too much for the author, this series could have easily been ten books long or even a series that could evolve with current events. Another problem I had that was mentioned in some of the reviews was the main characters, hyper rich and hyper perfect so perfect in fact they end up raising the Anti-Christ but at the same time go to Heaven and are chosen for special duties. It also doesn't help that all the main characters are European super model status as well, which in turn makes God almost look selective. The series really fell flat when towards the end it only centered around the main characters in the one family, the story didn't really involve the rest of mankind and toward the end the war between Good and Evil seem to rest more on the main characters in this hyper rich high society family more than maybe the global collective actions of mankind. For a Biblical fantasy that is based on the war between Good and Evil it lacked what was needed the most and that was basically again the rest of mankind not just a special group of hyper rich people who where catered to and waited on all the way up to the fall of mankind. Another issue with the series I had was their was a little too much Harry Potter in Heaven, Satan was made out to look like weak, and in the last book their was a lot more story that could be and needed to be told i.e. the resistance and underground movements.
Overall a good but not great Biblical fantasy series the last two books start to run flat. Again the series has a huge amount of potential along with a lot more stories and characters that could be developed and brought to light. If it was bigger and more Global in the sense of having more characters involved in the war between Good and Evil and ended with a boom! and not a fade to black I think I would have given it five stars. I would really like to see the author or someone else pick up this series and shine a light on its potential for a story about the war between Good and Evil that involves the rest of Mankind.

The fourth novel in the series focuses on the nephilim and Lucifer's plan to use them against Christos, the Nazarene (Jesus) and the First Heaven angelic beings. Lucifer also plans to replicate what he did prior to the Flood- to mutate and alter all mankind through genetic re-engineering.

Michael and Gabriel once again, lead Yehovah's forces and are supported by Jether, Xacheriel and others. The Fallen of Lucifer are led by Charsoc and Marduk and their human forces (the Brotherhood of the Illuminati) of Lorcan De Molay, Baron, Kester von Slagel, Adrian De Vere, and Kurt Gruber. Opposing them are the rest of the De Vere family Jason, a revived Nick, Julia St. Carrier and others. Author, Wendy Alec has populated her fourth novel with other colorful characters like Fr. Lawrence St. Carrier. Alex Lane-Fox, Dylan Weaver, and others whose faith is matured during the tumultuous and dangerous times of the 'Pale Horse.' Those left behind after the Rapture form the Illuminus, the opposition to the Illuminati. The filling in of the character and background of Adrian De Vere and his intricate connection with the Fallen and other characters is dark and foreboding.

Interestingly, the author 'throws in the kitchen sink' and is excessive in her plot twists and content. On one hand, she effectively inserts historical events such as the Roswell Carsh, area 51, the USAF's investigation of UFOs, Presdient Eisenhower's role in the UFO & US government partnership, archeological finds that support biblical events, and the historical intrusions of the Illuminati that power the story of aliens (demons) being longtime familairs of man. She even pushes forth the longheld myth of the friendly alien fooling man in a very effective manner. All these accelerate the apocalypse that is brought on by an evil leader (Adrian De Vere) and a demonic false worldwide vaccination program thta is actually a mutation of man's genetic make-up and mind control. The novel does get a bit contrived when the author introduces an unbridled patriotism and gun owner rights. Another distrubing aspect is the near absence of God or mention of Him until the last 40 pages of the novel. These apsects of the plot development both add and take away from the overall efectiveness of the novel.

In the end, this is an effective novel and a good entry in the five-book series. While not as strong as some of its predecessors, it does bridge to the last book, "End of Days."

Why has it taken me so long to read this book? It was fantastic and gripping, as are all the other books in the series so far.

My only gripe is the major shift away from the angelic/fallen perspectives from the first two books. I get the first two books laid the groundwork for books 3 and 4, but I loved the angelic/fallen perspective on things. In the latest two there was less of a presence (with the exception of Jether, who had a huge role on both planes), and I missed seeing Gabriel and Michael (Gabriel in particular, since I love Wendy Alec's representation of him). I can only hope this changes in book 5, what with the events greatly alluded to in book 4.

That said, despite the shift to a more human level of involvement, it was still a really good plot. I still don't like Jason De Vere much, but accept he's the better choice for the role he has to play.

As to other events that take place... it's hard to give a view without giving things away. Deep-rooted secrets, the depths of betrayal and treason, persecution, and faith--as is usual with these books, these themes are heavily present. At times I felt myself hesitant to read on, because the story was becoming very dark and (seemingly) very hopeless. Each new event only increased the feeling of dread and fear, and I probably include revulsion as well. But this is what we are meant to feel. We're meant to be appalled by what is going on--not just what is happening on a human level, but the Fallen's schemes behind it. And yet, even so, there were glimmers of hope.

The ending definitely left me feeling hungry for more, and it galls me I have to wait until book 5 is released to find out what happens next.

Although this was as brilliant I feel it got a bit ridiculous at times.

Despite that I don't really care because it still has all the goodness and bleakness that this story is leading up to. The war is ratcheting up and the stakes are high. It ended on a bleak note with Julia , Jason and Lucifer .

Also a Gone With The Wind quote by Lucifer because WHY NOT! I laughed so hard and I don't know why I found it so funny. Twice he reignited my pity for him.

Also where is Gabriel at?

I find these books so hard to properly review because honestly it's the journey, the characters and the love of faith. These books make me question it...

This series is outstanding!

This book is true to life that it is scary a plagued placed to allow the vaccine to change our DNA! I just watched a Dr explain exactly that about the COVID-19 virus vaccine. That they use some kind of nonhuman DNA to add to the virus to change our DNA. This is the book for today soon we will be raptured. Ever looking up, now this book ensnare us to read it without stopping wondering what will come next. Awesome! Best series I have ever read and loved will definitely reread again.

I really liked this book, it really goes into how the Antichrist comes into power. I once again enjoyed the banter between my favorite angel Michael and his nemises Lucifer. Alec is very good at how she uses speech between the angels. I also liked how the trio of De Vere brothers were portrayed. Her take on how the rapture was also refreshing.

Wendy continues to weave the many threads of this epic tale with the skill of a Master Weaver. Along the way secrets are exposed and brought into the Light and the accounts of believers facing death by guillotine for refusing to take the Mark is riveting. As always the cliffhanger is a doozy, good thing I have Book 5 ready to go.

A bit disappointed after the previous ones in the series. I had a hard time keeping track of the various characters...and some was too far fetched. The previous books kept me on the edge of my seat and I finished them in a week ....I've been struggling to get thru this one for eight weeks!,,

Amazing. Wendy's descriptions and dialog brings you right into the story. I couldn't put the book down, and when I finished I felt like I was still in that world.

Excellent. The entire series is a must read.
