Whoa! What a book! I don't think I've ever read anything quite like it! Smokin' Hot Firemen is approximately 215 pages and contains not one, not two, but SEVENTEEN hot little stories, all about... you guessed it! FIREMEN!

I'm not sure how to review a book that has 17 different stories in it but I'll give it a shot... just for YOU! First off, let me give you a disclaimer or two. I've never really seen what the big deal is about Firemen and their hotness. Don't get me wrong, I have definitely seen a hot fireman in my day. There's a place in New Mexico (where I used to live) that seems like ALL of the firemen there were ordered out of "Hot Dude Quarterly" (oh how I wish that was a real catalog!). But other than that, I don't consider firemen as hot guys. I know that it's only because my brother is a fireman and well, having any naughty thoughts about firemen just seems really wrong! LOL! So obviously, I was a little trepidatious about starting this book. Luckily, I was able to set aside reality and enjoy this one and I didn't think about my brother once! ...Thank GOODNESS!!

I don't know what I'd call these stories. They certainly aren't novellas - they're too short for that. Some of them are only a few pages. They didn't seem to be ordered in any particular way that I could tell. The stories range from cute and sweet to funny to really hot containing BDSM! I know there has to be something in this book for everyone! Since I can't review each and every story, let me tell you some details about just a couple of them.

One of the ones I liked (since I'm a filthy girl) was Saving Charlotte by Sabrina York. This was a BDSM story and even though it was short, the author packed in lots of great stuff! Mark, the fireman, is rescuing people from a a blaze in an apartment. There's supposed to be one person inside and when Mark finds her, he shocked - she's tied to the bed!!! Charlotte had been trying out a little BDSM with her boyfriend and as a little cute punishment, he left her there. Who could have known there would be a fire but it doesn't matter. Charlotte is fine and Marks leaves her with an offer that she simply cannot refuse! This was such a sexy story and I'm truly amazed at how the author was able to breathe life into these characters in such a short amount of time. But if you don't like BDSM, don't worry. It's not really deep into the scene, with butt plugs and Saint Andrew's Crosses and all that, so just about anyone could read this.

Another one was Temperature Rising by Cathryn Fox. Delilah is waiting at a bar for her date when Jonah, the newest (youngest?) fire chief waltzes in the door, full of his usual swagger. She refuses to give in to the temptation of staring at and drooling on him but, in the end, she can't help herself. This was a totally cute story and I loved it. Again, the author infuses these characters with life in such a short amount of time. Plus, things aren't what they seem with Delilah and Jonah so the end of the story surprised me and it was so much fun!

Can you see where I going with this? Each story has something different or unique. That was actually another thing that I was worried about before starting this book: how many variations on firemen stories can there be? Sure, each story is from a different author but I just figured it would get really old, really fast. I'm SO glad that I was wrong!

I need to be honest, though. Not all of the stories were winners. There were a couple that didn't really thrill me or were just plain ol' boring. I didn't really click with the characters or I felt that there was no chemistry between them. But out of 17 stories, there were only two that I didn't like and I think that's pretty great!

Overall, I would absolutely recommend this book. It would be perfect for someone who is really busy and has a hard time sitting down and committing to one book. Each story only takes a short while to read and then you can put it down until you have more time. Even with that, it was a blast to read, the characters were real and the Sexy Time was awesome!! You have to try this one out!!!

"Smoking Stilettos" by Rachel Firasek: Red and Matt's marriage withstands the tests of a risky career with hot passion in the firetrucks to spare. I found this one a bit disorienting in the beginning and cheesy at the end, but it probably has the hottest single sex scene in the entire collection (Rating: 8/10)

"Saving Charlotte" by Sabrina York: A naughty shock of a fire rescue brings firefighting Dom, Mark, and ethereally beautiful Charlotte together. This story explores an unlikely relationship determined to demonstrate how dominating is really to be done. It does follow a bit of a porno story line, but is absolutely explosive (Rating: 9/10)

"Hook Me Up" by Adele Dubois: When a bad kitty gets Lexi stuck in a tree, fireman Knox just happens to be driving by to save her from further humiliation... and she's compelled to return the favor. Definitely well-penned but has more romance than sex. Fun read, nothing brilliant (Rating: 6/10)

"Big Trucks" by Lynn Townsend: Another firetruck hookup involving two firefighters. Only story in the collection with a female fighter (woohoo!), but unfortunately both Amy and Steve felt disconnected as characters. The love scene isn't hot and the story boring to follow; my eyes glazed over this one (Rating: 2/10)

"Lost and Found" by Nanette Guadiano: Anna flees to Forete, Italy to escape her mundane (non-)existence, only to run into a tall, blonde, and handsome British firefighter. William has the uncanny power to know exactly what's on her mind... including what she wants to do with his body. Evocative of the Italian countryside, but not thrilling sexually. This story is sensual in a foreign setting, but that's the most I got out of it (Rating: 7/10)

"Temperature Rising" by Cathryn Fox: Delilah has a hot tryst with a young firefighter, Jonah, who's clearly trouble; he knows his way around a woman's body way too well. This one's for you roleplay fans. The fantasy is excellent, but the sex disappointing (Rating: 4/10)

"Unexpected Detour" by Ily Goyanes: José rescues Isabella from danger and gives her a little taste of his Puerto Rican spice. This one's for you Latina lovers! Short and sweet, Unexpected Detour is excitingly arousing with an exotic hookup location (Rating: 8/10)

"Rescue Me" by Maggie Wells: Addi runs into high school heartthrob Trey during a false alarm that just might have been an act of fate. When past desires are revealed, passion stirs... The backstory here is great and the style absorbing and witty, but the sex scenes are anticlimactic (Rating: 7/10)

"Chasing Fire" by Elle James: Maggie is unwilling to compromise a relationship with über hunk smoke jumper Chance; she doesn't want more than just a physical arrangement because in his dangerous trade, getting attached could mean getting hurt. Very corny plot-wise, but super hot! (Rating: 9/10)

"Stoke" by Tahira Iqbal: Nurse Aida, a survivor of a bad accident, meets her rescuer Nick, and sparks fly. This one is cute and romantic with witty one-liners. Not that explicit but one of the few stories that are actually believable (Rating: 8/10)

"Something's Burning" by Cynthia D'Alba: Bree has a dire problem: she can't grill. She's successful and independent and is a doctor for cryin' out loud, but she just can't grill. When a cooking effort goes terribly wrong, she burns down her next-door neighbor, Ronan's fence down. And Ronan's the lieutenant at the local fire department... oh, the irony. There's only one way in mind he has for her to make it up to him, and it's definitely not a neighborly endeavor. Entertaining fellatio story whose pages sizzle (Rating: 8/10)

"Fire Hazard" by M. Marie: Strapping firefighter Jackson rescues a damsel in distress and her cat in an apartment fire, later discovering he's undeniably attracted to her... the damsel, not the cat. Love the structure of this one; the interrupted hookup teases readers, leaving them wanting more. SUPER hot! (Rating: 9/10)

"The Fireman's Rescue" by Kalissa Wayne: An interracial (Native American / Caucasian) story about Drew, our fire chief and untraditional hero, and plain-Jane Heather, who doesn't give him the attention he wants, but seems to have a wild streak of her own. Personally I found this one really unbelievable and the plot is just ridiculous. Not at all hot, The Fireman's Rescue reads like a twelve-year-old's erotic fanfic (Rating: 5/10)

"Falling Ashes" by Shoshanna Evers: Emotional story about Susan and her adamantly non-boyfriend Trent, whom she just may have feelings for. Unnecessarily angsty with standard, mediocre sex. Corny "I love you," crap going on, which I didn't care much for (Rating: 5/10)

"Fire Extinguisher" by Rowan Elizabeth: Okay, this one rocked my socks. The narration is haunting but completely seductive. The sex scene isn't explosive, but the idea behind a lover's personal haven is amazing. I'm still reeling at Elizabeth's gorgeous style and structure—how come there is no information on this author ANYWHERE? I want more! (Rating: 9/10)

"Her Hero" by Catherine Paulssen: Holly's wistful dream of a fantasy makes this one both emotionally tender and fire-blazing hot; I loved the balance. The story line is actually terrific. You'll have to read it to find out more, yourself (Rating: 9/10)

"Johnny Blaze" by Delilah Devlin: Bridget's 25th birthday part at a male strip club turns into a night of surprises when the man of her dreams, codename Johnny Blaze, takes control. Three keywords to describe this story: Spanking. Exhibitionist. Full-figured. Sound interesting? As always, Delilah Devlin's tone doesn't disappoint. While I didn't enjoy the story that much, I adore her style (Rating: 6/10)

Pros
FIREMEN. Need I say more? // Well-edited and structured anthology // Lots of great authors // A few stories that really wowed me

Cons
A lot of the stories had similar foundations, which bored me quickly // Some ridiculous HEAs or attempts to add romance to spice (note to erotica authors: sometimes, it's perfectly OKAY to have just the spice).

Love
I am firmly on the awake side of sleep. He'll text. He always does.

At six-twenty-three in the morning, he texts me a simple message.

It was ugly.

He'll need me today in a way he doesn't always need me.

— from Rowan Elizabeth's "Fire Extinguisher"

Verdict
It's a good thing I have a thing for firefighters, or else the stories in Smokin' Hot Firemen would have gotten old real quickly. The majority of them follow the same premise—chiseled firefighter rescues gorgeous damsel in distress—just with different plot twists and characters. Some of them are indeed five-alarm hot, while others fizzle out; I felt way too many of them have far-fetched scenarios or conclusions (e.g. unrealistic happily ever afters) akin to what you find in the world of bad porn. In other words, almost comical, and absolutely foolish. However, overall I enjoyed this Cleis Press collection because firemen are literally my hottest fantasy.

Rating: 7 out of 10 hearts (4 stars): Not perfect, but overall enjoyable.

Delilah Devlin has brought together a talented group of seventeen authors to create an erotic anthology honoring heroic and sexy firefighters. Each story sets itself apart from the others by their different levels of heat and by how big a part fire actually plays in the story. For some authors, like Nanette Guadiano in Lost and Found, being a firefighter is merely a backdrop casually mentioned. For other authors, like Sabrina York in Saving Charlotte, the descriptions of actual fires are extremely vivid and completely immerse you in the heat and heart-pounding action of fighting to save a life. The firefighters in each story are undeniably heroic yet sexy and assertive, whereas most of the heroines are more of the damsel in distress variety. Two stories break that mold though to allow the heroines to take the lead in their relationship. Fire Extinguisher by Rowan Elizabeth and Big Trucks by Lynn Townsend show strong-willed women not afraid to be the boss and take control.

All the stories are sexy and steamy and get right to the action as these authors know what we REALLY want. Some authors present sexual interludes that are off-the-chart HOT with some elements of BDSM included to make readers parched. Other authors present a slow burn that allows initial sexual tension to morph into scenes that are satisfyingly steamy. There's moments of seriousness alluding to the dangers of firefighting as well as bits of humor throughout the anthology. In other words there's something for everyone! I enjoyed discovering new authors and being reacquainted with well-known authors that again proved their reliability to entertain. Readers wanting to spend a bit of time with a hero and have their dreams brought to life will find Smokin' Hot Firemen smokingly sexy and satisfying.

First, let me start by saying that I devoured this entire book in one sitting as soon as it arrived in the mail. While I was feverishly flipping pages, I kept repeating in my head: “Please don’t let this be the last story. Please, don’t let this be the last story.” There are seventeen stories in this anthology, and not a single one was disappointing. Not one. Keep in mind that this is a scorching hot collection of very short stories, therefore a lot of the couples experience instalust and HFN (happy for now) endings. If firefighters have starred in your fantasies, then you’ll want to grab this book. Each story was uniquely different and well told. I’ve already read some of them more than once. I may even have to buy an extra copy that I won’t handle because my current copy will surely need scotch tape soon.

#1 – Smoking Stilettos by Rachel Firasek

Red is terrified to death whenever her husband Matt goes out on a call. Her latest impulsive act involved throwing a designer shoe at his head. He calms her down the only way they both know he can. When their interlude is interrupted, Matt’s best friend and colleague decides to take her along so she can see first hand what Matt does, and maybe she’ll understand him better.

Cute and funny! I thought Matt was really sweet and patient with his wife for lashing out because she feared for him.

#2 – Saving Charlotte by Sabrina York

While searching a burning apartment building for a child, Mark Conner finds a beautiful woman tied to a bed. They barely manage to escape the burning building. He assumes she is a sub and that her Dom has failed her. When she says it was a first time experiment, he’s disappointed to realize she doesn’t live the lifestyle he craves. He leaves her with the option of finding him if she ever wants to try an experienced Dom. Charlotte makes a move a month later. Mark can’t believe she’s there to accept his offer.

The only way I can describe what follows is “holy hotness!”

#3 – Hook Me Up by Adele Dubois

Knox Bennett experiences every firefighter’s wet dream – rescuing a half-naked damsel, Lexi Wentworth, in distress from a tree. Three weeks pass before they can act on their attraction. Interesting use of a fire helmet.

Phew, that was hot! I can imagine the conversation if/when future kids ask how daddy met mommy.

#4 – Big Trucks by Lynn Townsend

Steve Tillery is divorced with a son. Amy Whitaker is a fire engine driver. There’s an unspoken attraction between them. Amy takes the lead in trying to get Steve to admit he wants her, but he’s reluctant because they work together, but he can’t resist.

Fire trucks don’t just put out fires. Apparently they can start one between a ready and willing couple.

#5 – Lost and Found by Nanette Guadiano

1st person POV.

Heroine is thirty-six and stuck in a rut. No longer willing to compromise her dreams, she dumps her boyfriend of five years, quits her job, sells her house and moves to Italy. There she meets a handsome British fireman, who seems to be hiding from some pain of his own, and cue the sparks!

This was the first time I yelled, “no!” I didn’t want it to end. I hope the author expands on this story.

#6 – Temperature Rising by Cathryn Fox

Heroine waiting for her blind date. Fire chief shows up. She wants to stay away from him but can’t resist his skilled seduction. She has a firefighter fantasy that needs fulfilling, and he might be the one to do it.

I guessed the ending from the beginning but it made the story even hotter! Sex in the garage against a fire truck. Yum!

#7 – Unexpected Detour – Ily Goyanes

While on his morning run, José saves the lovely Isabella from a burning building. Isabella can’t let him slip through her fingers, so she hopes to spend more time with him by offering him a ride home. They don’t quite make it there. Instead they end up off the side of the road on the edge of the rainforest.

Multicultural couple and one well-endowed hero. HOT HOT HOT!

#8 – Rescue Me by Maggie Wells

Addi’s shower time is interrupted when a firefighter breaks down her door and grabs her. When she realizes the firefighter is the bad boy from high school that all the girls lusted over, she can see what all the fuss was about. She’s widowed, not dead.

This story had one of the funniest openings and the door wasn’t the only piece of wood furniture to suffer from their eagerness.

#9 – Chasing Fire by Elle James

Maggie Parker has sworn never to fall in love with a smoke jumper. When Chance Muldoon, the SJ she’s been seeing for the past three months proposes to her, she runs for the hills. While Chance is out fighting a forest inferno, she comes to a startling realization. But is she too late?

This story was touching. I loved them together and the fact that she went after him.

#10 – Stoke by Tahira Iqbal

1st person POV

Nick saves Aida from her burning vehicle, and provides excellent after care. He wants her, and doesn’t beat around the bush. He books a secluded cottage along the beach because he promises to make her scream. Boy, does she ever.

Nick was so sweet and tender, but underneath that calm and quiet exterior was one hot as hell man who knew how to satisfy a woman. Phew.

#11 – Something’s Burning by Cynthia D’Alba

Dr Bree Hardy is frustrated with her love life and her cooking skills, or lack thereof. When her latest grilling attempt ends up burning the fence between her and her hunky neighbor, Lieutenant Roman Diamond, he knows just how she can repay him. And he expects her to comply.

Roman was one hell of a wicked and dominating male, in a very good way. He wrung one hot BJ out of the more than willing heroine.

#12 – Fire Hazard by M. Marie

1st person POV

The blaring of a smoke alarm, and the heroines pissed off cat leave her with a few battle scars. Jackson, one of the firefighters on the scene tends to the heroines wounds, and things get heated very quickly. Before they can finish what they started, he has to leave, but promises to return after his shift.

A cute and titillating story that left me wanting more.

#13 – The Fireman’s Rescue by Kalissa Wayne

Multicultural/Interracial, BBW.

Dispatcher, Heather Titsworth, has the fire chief, Drew, tied up in knots. When Heather risks her life to run into a burning building to save someone, she doesn’t expect to end up saving Drew instead.Fear and anger over her reckless behavior make him lash out at her. He goes to see her to make sure she’s okay and to apologize, but ends up spilling his feelings.

I enjoyed seeing Drew get brought to his knees by the woman he always referred to as “not his type”. Damn hot dirty talk!!!

#14 – Falling Ashes by Shoshanna Evers

Susan worries about her boyfriend, Trent. He’s out fighting a forest fire and hasn’t checked in. She’s about to hunt him down when he shows up. Their relief turns into passion best consummated right on the spot – outdoors under the falling ashes.

That hint of desperation between them made this story hot and romantic.

#15 – Fire Extinguisher by Rowan Elizabeth

1st person POV, Domme, Anal play.

When Eric comes off a particularly bad job, only his wife is able to lift his burden in a unique way.

I thought this was quite touching and made the most sense for this couple. Even though it was short, I felt Eric’s tension and his need to submit; to not be the strong one to carry the burden of the horrors he experienced. He was able to let go under the capable ministrations of his loving wife.

#16 – Her Hero by Catherine Paulssen

Holly is desperate to put the romance back in her marriage after feeling like her husband’s job comes first in his life. It’s their wedding anniversary, and he seems to have forgotten all about it. The next day she drives to the fire house to talk to him, but she doesn’t make it there. Nathan saves his wife’s life and realizes that life is too short to take things for granted.

I loved this story, and I’m not going to lie, but I got a thrill out of the near tragedy scenario. The make-up sex was worth the bit of angst.

#17 – Johnny Blaze by Delilah Devlin

Librarian, Bridget Luckadoo has had a crush on the hunky fireman, James Cooper from across the street. But he’s so gorgeous, he can’t possibly ever be interested in someone like her. When her best friend drags her to a male strip club to celebrate her birthday, she caves when she sees that the main attraction will be performing. Johnny Blaze. That firefighter will have to do, since she can’t have the real thing. She never expected to become the main act of the night, nor did she expect to come face to face with her crush.

Seriously, this was HOT! You’ve got to love a man who will go to such great lengths to make an impression on the woman he’s had a crush on while fulfilling a fantasy. And the fact that they couldn’t even make it back to either of their apartments and settled for some hot outdoor/in a truck sex. Hot damn!

If I had to hand out medals, they’d be as follows:

- Best Dirty Talking Heroine: Unexpected Detour by Ily Goyanes

- Best Dirty Talking Hero: The Fireman’s Rescue by Kalissa Wayne

- Most impressive Orgasm: Saving Charlotte by Sabrina York

- Best Sex Involving a Fire Truck: Temperature Rising by Cathryn Fox

- Best Humor: Rescue Me by Maggie Wells

- Best Dominating Male: Saving Charlotte by Sabrina York

- Best Sob Story: Her Hero by Catherine Paulssen

- Best Use of Fireman’s Equipment (other than his c*ck): Hook Me Up by Adele Dubois

- Best Outdoor Sex: Johnny Blaze by Delilah Devlin

Smokin' Hot Fireman contains seventeen stories of heroics, handsome firemen, and various scenarios. Like most anthologies there are stories that hit the right note with me and had me squirming in my chair, contemplating whether I should burn my own house down, while others ensured that my house would survive for at least another few pages .

Many of the stories followed a more romantic style, but no matter what style they may have started in, they all ended up with a heated exchange of bodily fluids as emotions came to a boil. Whilst the romantic situations are not my personal preference, they are very well written and the stories will likely capture your imagination. After all for many women, Firemen are the perfect hero, running into danger, when the rest of us, are well, running in the other direction.

Over the 215 pages that I read, there were, as I said, a couple of the stories that really appealed to me, the first of these was, 'Lost and Found' written by Nanette Guadiano. I could seriously identify with her characters and found myself swept along in the drama, romance, and pictures that she created in my mind. It could have been the age of the character that drew me to her, but I think it was more that like many woman, I have always felt there was more out there for me. I've often dreamed of throwing caution to the wind, and simply disappearing to another country, and this is what Anna does. Nanette skilfully takes us on Anna's journey of self discovery in a few short pages, and all good stories do, she gets her hero in the end, but with a twist attached of course.

The other story that I adored was, 'Temperature Rising' written by Cathryn Fox. This was a story that again I could personally relate to but more than that the writing was amazing. Just the right amount of excitement at the right time, was for me, a recipe for needing some relief from the heat. I was the twist coming at the need right from the start, but it didn't matter, as I found myself wrapped up in the passion, desire and needs of these characters.

I've actually found myself going back to these two stories a couple of times when I've found myself needing some more fuel to reheat my own fire, and I'm happy to report that no matter how many times I have read them, they still rekindle my desires.

One of the things I seriously love about anthologies is that they generally offer something for everyone no matter what your personal taste in erotica. The one thing I really liked about Smokin' Hot Firemen is that the editor Delilah Devlin, has managed to pace the book as a whole wonderfully. The stories start more romantically, then heat up as the book progresses. Towards the end we again see more romantic stories and that to me it felt almost like a mirror image of not only the fire or situation a hero or victim might find themselves in, but also of most women's libidos.

Whether Firemen are your thing or not, you are sure to find a few stories that will kindle your interests and desires. Who know you might even find a fireman or two creeping more often into your fantasies, I know I did!

“Smokin’ Hot Firemen” is an anthology of seventeen erotic short stories edited by Delilah Devlin. The talented authors who have contributed to this sizzling collection do an excellent job of showcasing the different aspects of this dangerous profession and highlighting the sexy heroes who have to be ready to deal with an amazing range of situations. From Sabrina York’s submissive heroine to Adele Dubois’ awkward kitty rescuer, Lynn Townsend’s definitely feminine firetruck driver, Elle James’ all too relevant tale of the dangers of jumpers’ lives, and Cynthia D’Alba’s wryly ironic tale of a fire lieutenant’s grill-inept neighbor, not to mention Delilah Devlin’s own smoking hot tale of a special birthday celebration to name a few...all of the stories are designed to ignite a fire so keep plenty of cold libations available.

This very entertaining collection of spicy short stories both adds to the allure of the sexy firefighter and emphasizes the breadth of duties they may be faced with. The delightful variety of authors describe different aspects of a firefighter’s life even as they explore the sensual connection that they form with their lovers who have to deal with the risks that are faced on a daily basis and each author did a wonderful job of creating a vivid tale. This read was particularly poignant in light of recent events but it certainly does nothing to alleviate the soaring temperatures of the summer season, instead, it makes one very grateful for air-conditioning and engenders a desire to look for other works by these imaginative writers.

This is an anthology of short stories all dealing with Smexy Firemen and edited by Delilah Devlin. There were 17 stories by 17 different authors in this particular book. With that many authors, it means that most of these stories are only a few pages long, ranging anywhere from 7 to 17 pages long.

As with any anthology, there are going to be hits and misses for every person. Some of the stories were complete unto themselves, some were more like vignettes taken from a larger novel, and there were a few that were more straight erotic scene than story. Some of them were completely awesome and some of them were more eh. Overall, it was a very good look at why firemen seem to get us all Steamed up!

Personally, I like anthologies. They are a great way to get a quick introduction to a new author, as well as not feel too guilty when you are busy or interrupted while reading and keep having to put the book down because you are between stories anyway. This was a great cross section of both authors and types of stories. I think just about everyone could find something in this anthology that they like. I am going with 3 stars on Goodreads and a couple of new authors to add to my Must Check Out pile.

I just finished this hot anthology of great stories about one of America's favorite heroes, Firemen!

Rachel Firasek starts the show with "Smoking Stilettos", and from there each story captures a glimpse of firemen and the hero worshiping heroines they encounter or have in their lives. I enjoyed all the stories, but I have my personal fav's; "Johnny Blaze" by Delilah Devlin, "Something's Burning" by Cynthia D'Alba, "Rescue Me" by Maggie Wells...oh hell, who am I kidding I enjoyed the whole book. ;-)

The stories are funny, definitely hot and pure entertainment. If you need a break and only have time for a short story, grab this book and enjoy a story or two at a time. You won't be disappointed!

Sometimes when I read books with such a specific theme I think that there isn't enough room for creativity. But in this case I was surprised and pleased with what I found. While firemen aren't one of my leading fantasies I am able to appreciate how they are for others, and indeed within these short stories they are really enjoyable to imagine.

Firemen are heroes, they are often heading right into danger for us. They act fearless and headstrong, and this can really play out nicely in the bedroom too. These stories aren't the typical firemen saving damsels in distress; these characters are much more realistic than that. And besides, it's fun to read about others pushing those limits we might not normally in our everyday lives.

Smoking Stilettos She has really done it this time, but no way is Red going down without a fight. It may have been an accident, sort of, yet Matt is determined to make her pay. Scrambling up the fire truck is probably not her best idea. Still, Red is having a hard time being sorry. Whether she knows it or not, Matt has her right where he wants her. The chase may be fun, but it is the capture that really gets the heart pumping. Saving Charlotte What Mark Conner sees when he enters the room is enough to make his blood boil. Nearly getting burnt to a crisp is a turning point that opens Charlotte’s eyes in so many ways. After that horrific day, Mark never really thinks he will see her again. Charlotte, however, cannot get Mark or his promise out of her mind. Mark hones right in on Charlotte’s desires, showing just how amazing he is in and out of uniform. Hook Me Up This is what Lexi Wentworth gets for thinking she can slip out quickly and not be seen in nothing but a nightie. If she were not so beautiful and obviously in trouble, Knox Bennett would have to laugh. Hanging upside down in a tree is not how Lexi planned to meet the sexiest man alive. Knox can only hope he will get to see Lexi again. So, when she shows up at the station, he knows his life will never be the same. Firemen rescuing cats in trees may be clichéd. This story, however, takes it in a whole new delicious direction. Big Trucks Getting to the scene fast and safe is what Amy Whitacker does best, behind the wheel of the fire truck. Hearing the tones go off gets the blood pumping for Steve Tillery. Seeing Amy handle the big red truck sends that blood rushing south. Steve thinks he is pretty good at keeping his feelings to himself, especially since he works with Amy. Apparently, she is better equipped at knowing what he needs than he is. Office romance may never be a good idea, but hot sweaty sex in a fire truck? Who would say no to that? Lost and Found Getting out of a dead end job, not to mention a dead end life, makes Anna move thousands of miles away to Italy. Trying to save the child’s life is as instinctual as breathing for William. He does not think. He just reacts. The almost tragedy is enough to kick Anna out of this funk she has been feeling for far too long. Once she meets William face to face, she knows this is where she is meant to be. The biggest risks sometimes reap the biggest rewards, of which Anna is the lucky recipient. Temperature Rising This one night, Delilah Morgan is going to let her fantasies run free. Seeing her sitting there is all Jonah needs to set this night in motion. Just watching him walk across the room ignites Delilah’s desires, priming her for what comes next. Jonah can see in her eyes exactly what she is longing for, and he intends to deliver. The job is serious stuff. So when it is time to play, Jonah and Delilah know how to make the most of it. Unexpected Detour Even off duty, José does not think twice about running into a burning building. There are not enough words for Isabella to express her gratitude. José cannot explain why his normal caution around women evaporates with Isabella. He just goes with it. She is the curvy dark-haired beauty of his fantasies come to life, so he is not going to let her slip away. Beautiful dark eyes set in luscious caramel skin all wrapped up in hard-packed muscle are enough to make any hot-blooded woman go up in flames. Rescue Me Irritation is running high when Addi Mason is dragged from her shower by the pounding on her front door. This will be one fire-fighter Trey Hansen may never live down to. Addi does not even make it to the door before it crashes open, and she is lifted off her feet. Her instant shock lasts long enough for her to get a good look at her uninvited guest. What happens after is pure lust. Ready to take back her life, Addi and Trey’s reunion feels like it is meant to be. Chasing Fire Chase has known for a while that he wants forever. He just never expects the response. Seeing the wives and girlfriends of smoke jumpers worry themselves sick is exactly why Maggie needs to end this now. Once Chase hits the ground, nothing breaks his focus, but the trip down gives his brain time to think of Maggie. How has she let this happen? Maggie has no idea, which means the minute she sees Chase again, she has to tell him. Feelings have a sneaky way of happening, whether you are ready or not. Stoke Being a nurse, Aida feels she should be handling this so much better, which is definitely easier said than done. It does not take an expert to see the fear behind her eyes. Drew wants to help her get past it more than anything. Just thinking how close she comes to dying makes Aida want to burst into tears, even if having Drew near is certainly helping. Once Aida gets over the shock and after a good night’s sleep, Drew has the perfect - See more at: http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/Book...

I just want to reiterate that this is an anthology, and that there are 17 short stories included in this book. Let me be the first to tell you that they are super sexy stories with some mega hot men. I need to fan myself…… ok. Numerous subjects were dealt with within each story, such as death, fear of loosing a loved one, marriage in crisis due to the firefighter’s job. I was surprised that humor was used and I have to say that that story was laugh out loud funny and I still think about those two characters. BDSM elements were also a theme used throughout each book (so delish). Also at the end of the book is a short blurb on each author, which I liked because I like to get to know the authors who put their all into quality writing that I get to enjoy.

Each story dealt with firefighters but each story was unique in how they dealt with the firefighter and his story to happily ever after. All of the authors did their research in regards to firefighting equipment, the life inside a station house, the banter between the men, and the women firefighters. Each story was written beautifully (really), and sensitive subjects that were integral to the story was dealt with sensitivity and respect.

I have compiled a list of several of my favorite stories from the book:

Smoking Stilettos, by Rachel Firasek — I loved this story because the heroine realizes how rewarding her man’s job is to him, and how much people depend on him to keep them safe.

Saving Charlotte, by Sabrina York — This story stayed with me because the hero found the heroine at the last minute during a fire, and saved her life. He was sensitive to her and her feelings, and the story was just that good.

Hook me Up. by Adele Dubois — This story was just so good. This was the one that was funny. I can’t go into detail about what happens because I don’t want to ruin it for you. I can say that you won’t be disappointed.

Her Hero, by Catherine Paulssen and Fire Extinguisher, by Rowan Elizabeth — I put the two of these together because each of these stories deal with some serious subjects. The husband and wife need each other to help deal with the stresses in their lives as well as in their marriages. Each story is unrelated to each other, but I felt that I should group them together.

Chasing Fire, by Elle James — This one was just so good. It was about a woman trying to deny that she has feelings for a firefighter. His career choice is dangerous, will she give in and accept her feelings? This story was so romantic.

Ok come on! Who doesn't love a book chalked full of sexy hot firemen? Smokin' Hot Firemen is an anthology of 17 authors that penned some smoking hot stories! There are many different heat levels offered up. I read the various chapters of Smokin' Hot Firemen in-between my regular books. It was like enjoying a constant flow of sexy erotic reads. Did I mention hot firemen?

Some stories are better than others but overall a decent collection. This review will highlight three of my favourites.

Lost and Found was written by an author that I had not previously heard of. Nanette Guadiano's story was written in first person and it was amazing. It was a true romantic fantasy. A 36 yr old woman stuck in a life rut, leaves her former boring life, packs up and moves to a small town in Italy to finish the book she started. Enter a blond, tall British fireman hero who has been on an extended vacation and they share a bottle (or two) of wine. The story was almost poetic and very steamy. I loved it!

For me even though a story is a novella length, it has to somewhat believable. Maggie Wells' story, Rescue Me is exactly that. Although Trey and Addison had not seen each other in years, they had a history dating back to high school. Their erotic romp in her kitchen shortly after being rescued/reunited was not only hot but excitingly believable for those who harbour thoughts about their former high school fantasy.
When I started reading Rescue Me, I forgot it was a novella because I quickly connected with Addi. A bit of humour and a whole lot of sexiness, Rescue Me was my favourite of the book.

Another winner for me was Fire Hazard by M. Marie. Fire Hazard was written in first person and I don't think I even knew the name of the heroine. As she starts to see the faint haze of smoke filling her twentieth floor apartment building and as the blare of alarms pierces her ears, she bravely tries to wrangle her frightened cat into his cat carrier. So far, totally believable. If you have ever tried to wrangle a scared clawed cat hurriedly into a cat carrier, you can imagine the damage he could cause to tender exposed flesh. Thankfully fireman "Jackson" was available to tend to her wounds. *insert giant sized grin here*

Smokin' Hot Firemen: Erotic Romance Stories for Women, edited by Delilah Devlin, is so hot that you'll need to grab an Ove-Glove in order to pick it up! Inside are seventeen stories, totaling 231 pages - all about firemen. (So girls, you REALLY gotta like firemen stories LOL!) The nice thing about an anthology is that you get a good exposure to different authors, different styles of writing and different heat levels. Some of the stories were more romantic/sweet hot... and others had BDSM in them... while others could just set off the fire alarm by themselves. Have a favorite erotic/romance author? Here's a chance to check out seventeen of them to add to your TBR lists! Rachel Firasek, Sabrina York, Adele Dubois, Lynne Townsend, Cathryn Fox, Nanette Guadiano, Ily Goyanes, Maggie Wells, Elle James, Tahira Iqbal, Cynthia D'Alba, M. Marie, Kalissa Wayne, Shoshanna Evers, Rowan Elizabeth, Catherine Paulssen and last, but NEVER least... Delilah Devlin. This is a great anthology to have if you just want a little something-something to read to help switch your head from "Mom" to "Wife"!

Bottom line? If you're looking for short & plentiful, pick "Smokin'" with its 17 stories. Want little bit longer short stories? (I know. Oxymoron.) Try "Blaze". Want the stories to set you on fire? "Smokin'" is it for you! Just want a little smoke started? Check out "Blaze"!

Since these are short stories, it means you don't have to wait forever to get to the sexy parts - the various authors cut to the chase, and get off pretty quickly. In fact, in almost every one, the female in the story is so instantaneously turned on simply by the idea of a fireman, that she's already "wet" and "hot" by the middle of the first page of each story, if not the first sentence. (If there's a computer program to count, I'm pretty sure this book would win for density of the words "wet" and "hot" in English literature.) So, it's typical of any erotic stories with firefighters. (I'm starting to feel sorry for them, it is such a ubiquitous stereotype.)

If you read too many in a row, it's like eating a half pound of See's candies by yourself; you will start to feel nauseated. (Not that I really know, of course.) On the other hand, if you (like me) have worked all day with children, and you need a little dose of adult energy to counteract it, and your so-called boyfriend has annoying schedule conflicts, you can read one or two stories, and you don't waste a lot of time.

The writing in all the stories is mediocre, predictable, and sometimes clinical - descriptions of body temperature and other vital signs being the best indicator of how well the folks are getting along. This should probably get 5 stars for successfully fulfilling its intentions, which are pretty obvious.

Okay, I just wrote & deleted a paragraph analyzing the believability, the male-centricity-vs-female-centricity, & the level of creativity in the sex acts that were described -- I deleted it because...Who is reading this review anyway? Nobody who picks up this book is going to care about that. Suffice to say, they are all heterosexual pairings, they're all one-on-one except one story (oh, wait, that was something else...), and you will find exactly what you expected.

This book is an adrenaline rush. In Smokin’ Hot Firemen, the sex ranges from rough to tender but the men are certified heroes, red suspenders and all. With seventeen stories written by different authors, the fireman fantasy is explored from all angles, making it a must-read for anyone with a thing for lifesavers.

I enjoyed some stories more than others: Rowan Elizabeth’s ‘Fire Extinguisher’ flushed out its leading man into a haunted sub in need of relief only his partner can provide, and two coworkers fight their mounting sexual tension in ‘The Fireman’s Rescue,’ giving a lady a turn saving her love. If the damsel in distress is more your style, the classic plotline is very present here (several kittens get lost in trees or under sofas). The book is full of variety but every story had the same high-stakes heat to keep me warm over my winter break.

I would recommend Smokin’ Hot Firemen to anyone who likes their men masculine and sooty, and to readers who prefer their erotica loving and idyllic. This collection is quintessential erotic romance. As someone drawn toward the coarse and realistic, I got a bit tired of angelic women and the men who fall in love with them at first sight. But reading Smokin’ Hot Firemen was a great way to unwind on vacation and I dog-eared a few favorites to return to in the future. As other reviewers have said, there is definitely something offered for everyone. Overall this is a wonderful anthology to add to one’s collection.

I'm a sucker for a man in uniform, and although military uniforms are my preference, I also wouldn't turn down a hunky fireman ;) Sadly, in real life they're few and far between, but between the pages of this sexy anthology, hunks are plentiful - hurrah!

Edited by Delilah Devlin, and containing stories from popular names such as Rachel Firasek, Sabrina York, Ily Goyanes, Shoshanna Evers and many more, Smokin' Hot Firemen: Erotic Romance Stories for Women definitely lives up to its title.

I must admit when I picked it up, I wondered how much variety there would be between stories, given it's talking about a single profession - but I was very pleasantly surprised. The imagination of the authors was really something, and while there was a story about a cat up a tree (albeit fantastically written and very tongue in cheek), there are Doms, smoke-jumpers, exotic dancers and more nestling between the pages of this delicious book. My personal favourites were Rescue Me by Maggie Wells and Her Hero by Catherine Paulssen.

So, if you're a fan of firemen, or you're simply looking for a hot read with lots of variety and some fantastic writing, then you should definitely check out this book. Recommended.

I wanted to like this more than I did, I really did. But I'll definitely go with that old adage, "It's not you, it's me." Seriously! The writing was good. I don't think there was a story written badly in the book. I just had a hard time with a six page story this time. I don't mind novella's, you have a bit of a story in there to understand better. I just didn't like the fact that there was an entire story in 6 pages. Too rushed and not enough background to satisfy my mind. What woman is going to let a stranger, firefighter or not, save her one min and within 2 hrs your hot and heavy into a serious relationship? Well - not in my world anyway. I know books are about fantasy too, but most of these were so far fetched I just couldn't wrap my little brain around that fact to enjoy it really. I guess these kinds of stories just aren't my cup of tea anymore :-(

This was a free book from one of the Goodreads contest giveaways from Cleiss publishing. I dint realize when I first entered the contest that it was a short stories type of book. I always find these types of books difficult to read as I typically enjoy getting the before and the after when it comes to the good stuff in between. A lot of these stories felt very much like there was something missing and instead was just the 'sex scene' from a story. I will say I enjoyed the last one immensely as well as some of the ones throughout the middle but definitely the last one by Delilah Devlin!

This was an interesting compilation of very short stories featuring sexy firemen and the ladies they most desire. I would liken the stories in this anthology to one or two scenes in a typical book. They are varying degrees of steamy. Overall, I enjoyed this anthology and found several authors whose work I wouldn't mind reading more of.

Excellent collection of hot stories focusing on firefighters. Their strength, dedication, and ability to take action are all beautifully explored in this set of short stories. You can jump in anywhere, or read the book cover to cover--you can't go wrong with this erotic anthology.

Solid collection of erotica for those of us with fireman fantasies. I enjoyed "Saving Charlotte," "Rescue Me," and "Something's Burning."

Worth noting-hetero sex, a few with kink, a few feature married/committed couples.

This had some hot scenes, but a few of the stories were a bit out there. I guess the hey i just met you, let's have sex in the woods, was a bit too unrealistic. It was a very erotic story.
