A
fast paced and exciting adventure in a rural setting of Shakertown in the early
1920s. The main characters, Will and Tom, are young men and think like all young
men do; I am invincible. Bad things
happen to other people-Not to me.
They
come upon a dead deputy while hunting for gold. Later they discover a mysterious barge. After being warned to stay
away, more than once, they cannot. Like a moth drawn to a flame, Tom is drawn
to discover the truth behind the barge. Even attempts on their lives do not
stop them!
I
started reading this book and the mystery kept me turning pages. Before I
realized it, I had finished in one sitting! You will really enjoy this one!
Ben
has other short stories about Will and Tom: The Trestle and The Hunt. He also
has an exceptional book, The Boy Who Flew With Eagles and the short story
sequel, A Terrible Price.
