Ang out of place at forced nung mga twists/revelations. ✌️
Anyway, very good ang pagkakasulat. Hindi mahirap basahin ang libro. Ok ang narration and overall na style.
The reviews had me laughing 🤣 you all hate problematic books so much it makes me think how boring the filo wattpad community is its embarassing. Anyway, this is my first new age wattpad book that i liked! Solduke brainrot is very real and I am really Thankful
TWs: Suicide, Mature Themes, Sexual Harassment, Smut (pero minimal lang compared to the other books in the series)
The author is well known for writing heavy angst and adding very mature themes and I think she definitely lives up to her name. But I will say that CTS is my least favorite book of hers so far.
While I do love the way the heavy parts are written, I still think that the author should be mindful of what she writes as her audience mainly consists of easily influenced young teenagers. With that being said, I really think the way Mitzy's depression was handled was not it.
FIRST OF ALL: She was painted as a manipulative person and an antagonist, which shouldn't have happened. For an author that repeatedly endorses mental health, I think that it was hypocritical of her to simply just leave Mitzy out in the timeskip with no closure or explanation whatsoever.
If you need proof, check the Wattpad comments. Check the Facebook posts hating on Mitzy and slutshaming her when she was just as young as the other characters and needed just as much guidance. And I actually find it ironic how these same people also support Reese. It just really goes to show how the author really failed in giving Mitzy a second chance or at the very least an explanation to the readers.
Another thing I want to point out: Duke. Just...him as a character overall. I'm glad that the fanbase also agrees with me that he's the least likeable male lead in the series. I hated how he was always so unsure and hesitant with his feelings for Solene, how he was literally never there for her in her hardest times, how he treated her as a 'second choice', and yet he was forgiven in the end.
Going back to Mitzy, it's really weird how people were so ready to forgive Duke (someone that was already preoccupied in a relationship in the first place but chose to neglect it) but couldn't even offer Mitz a second chance. Keep in mind that the girl was on the brink of being disowned by her own family, had to deal with the physical effects of pregnancy, suffered from suicidal ideologies, had an (I assume) emotionally absent father for her baby at that time, all while struggling with her studies and the battery exam.
I can see how he redeemed himself with Solene with their scenes in DOS but that doesn't negate how he treated her in the past. Solene definitely deserved better and I still think so. Because it's a romance book (or I guess mainly focuses on the relationship between two people), Duke's character kind of ruined the experience for me.
I still definitely have more points I want to make but I'll keep it short for now. If you want somebody to discuss more about this with, please feel free to approach me!

I don’t know what to feel after reading this??? I guess, I expected too much because its a popular series and I wanted to read something from Wattpad that’s nor from Jonaxx (who’s my fave wattpad author of course) 😭
Overall it was an okay read, not something that I would actually reread in the future because I feel so stressed while reading this. I do not need to experience the same emotional distress lol
Aside from Sol, Harvin, and Troy, other characters are so unlikeable. Duke definitely pissed me off. I hate Mitzie, Sean, Atreus, Bethany and even Jelay!!! I hate that Sol never had a true girl friend. Everyone betrayed her!
My annotation tabs for the scenes that made me angry are more than the annotation tabs for the scenes that made me feel kilig!! Okay na yung start but then Duke became so frustrating. I so hate the miscommunication trope.
Also, the twists seem too forced and predictable? Nailatag lang basta but there were no definitive factors that will lead to the turning point of the story??? Or is it just me?
Plus, Jelay and Atreus’ betrayal was taken so lightly??? It doesn’t sit well with me :(( Kahit pa walang feelings si Sol for Atreus, she trusted him as her friend. Lalo na si Jelay. Her pregnancy and betrayal was just dropped so casually. Its just so out of plot. It seems out of character for them especially since their characters were built up nicely.
Duke and Sol being endgame is fine with me. Reading Duke’s POV, he was regretful and is really willing to become a better person. Just hopes he would cut off Bethany for good. And become a better decision maker.
Sa writing style, it’s oki. It’s easy to read. I just grew tired of the wordings na “ang babae” and “ang lalaki”. Just call them by their names. (>_<)
I don't know but I personally didn't liked this as much as I thought I would especially because of how hyped it is but... it was just okay.
It's a quick read, a bit slow paced in the beginning but it's still a fun one for me. Laughed with their rebuttals and asaran.
To be honest, I didn't feel that much connection with the characters, especially Duke. He's not that like-able for me. (though the first chapters were really cute)
As the story progresses, the least I am interested in the main characters. I feel like I was just detaching from them haha.
I do appreciate Sol and her story— how she overcame everything and still stand by herself.
I waited for the POV of Duke to see his personal point and thoughts, but meh. I wasn't that satisfied because they really did Sol wrong.
Also, I got stressed with Duke's brother haha! Even though their present are all okay now, it was still hard for me to like him.
Overall, it was just really okay. 3 stars I think would be fair for this. Please check TWs if you're interested in reading it. :)
It was an okay read. I wasn't blown away, and the characters took a while to grow on me, especially Duke! I don't know, maybe because I read this right after my car accident, and I was a bit groggy or something. But it made me laugh at some points and had me reaching for tissues during others, though.
I love how it was written. I just really can’t stomach Duke’s character. From start to ending he has this fucked up personality. What an insensitive assh*le🤮
One of the book's greatest strengths lies in its character development. Sol or Solene's undergoes a remarkable transformation throughout the narrative, evolving from a hesitant and uncertain individual into a determined and fearless woman. The supporting cast also adds depth and complexity to the story, with each character playing a vital role in Solenes's life. The narrative encourages readers to ponder life's meaning, the pursuit of dreams, and the importance of embracing the unknown. It's a story that will resonate with anyone who has ever dared to chase their own metaphorical sun. Inksteady demonstrates a keen mastery of storytelling knowing that is his/her first novel, effortlessly blending vivid imagery with profound insights. The pacing is well-crafted, keeping readers engaged from the first page to the last. The author's ability to transport readers to far-flung realistic story is nothing short of remarkable, making the settings feel as alive as the characters themselves.
PS. This book may contain Trigger Warning such as ff:
Wow. This book blew my mind. It was emotionally draining, and I was completely exhausted by the end. It's a difficult book to love because it's so different and unique from the other romances I've read. It's divisive in its own unapologetic way. It's also quite indistinguishable in that the characters are written NOT to please the readers, but to emphasize the themes highlighted in the book.
It discusses romance as a decision and a commitment, how our actions reflect and affect others, how communication is healthy and can actually save relationships, and how faith, truthfulness, and sense of duty are essential. I believe the author's goal with this book was to make you emotionally invested, and I believe she succeeded in that regard. It's incredibly stressful, both emotionally and mentally.
Because the romance in this book was quite intense, people had varying opinions and emotions while reading it. but for me, after reading the epilogue from Duke's point of view, I kind of forgive him for the things that he did because you kind of realize that he really didn't have a "choice" and as a young teen, it was difficult for him to think logically, so in that sense, I'm looking forward to understanding his perspective.
I just want to emphasize how powerful and incredible Sol is. I believe she is one of the most powerful MCs I've ever met, and she is constantly striving and shining. She deserves all the love, and I hope that this time things fall into her fingertips and the world gives her what she deserves.
My only concern with this book is how confusing the characters are written, how fast paced it is, and how certain problems in this book are not Completely addressed. Everything felt a little sloppy, and I wish it had ended in a more elaborate and complete way because it felt rushed. It's a good book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I was angry, but in the end, I healed and recovered.
2.7 stars! I want to give this one 3 stars but the readers' comments about Mitzie made me mad MAD.
Okay, I'll start with the things I like in this book.
1) Writing style • It was an okay writing style. It's not confusing, but it's not mind blowing nor completely clear neither. There were parts that were too fast paced that some scenes were not narrated enough for us to have complete grasp and image on the scenes. But the writing was not entirely bad.
2) Sol and her internal conflicts • I think this was one of the reasons why I continued reading. Because I want to see how Sol would resolve all the problems she had externally, and internally. The author did not let Sol rest with the mountains of doubts and fear she had and I'm here for it!
3) dialogues • The dialogues are realistic. They are not cringe nor forced for the sake of calling them iconic lines-worthy.
4) Characters • Characters are well-established and has their own distinct personality, depth, and layers. (Or at least for our main characters)
Now, let's go with the things I hate in this book:
1) Forced conflicts • Most conflicts here were just smacked into the book for the sake of 'we-cannot-be-together' trope. Especially nearing the conclusion! It was so forced yet was not concluded properly! I love the first half's conflicts because it focuses much with her doubts and how she feared of loving someone like Duke. But this was overused in the last parts to the point that it felt forced. Like GIRL, JUST TALK TO HIM!
— some conflicts came out of nowhere, too! Pero hindi naman naa-adress nang maayos!
Teka, itutuloy ko to later! Marami pa yan.

I just hope the author put trigger warnings at the BEGINNING of the story not only sa simula ng isang chapter. This way, mabibigyan si reader ng chance to proceed with the story or not.
Nonetheless, the story was good. It was entertaining. Sol's a brave woman. Gustong gusto ko yung character niya. I like Troy and Harvin as well, I'm actually rooting for him (Harvin). I hate Atreus tho. He's a manipulative and a basic asshole.
There are character development for sure.
I was impressed when I found out na baguhan lang pala siya sa pagsusulat. The narration is good, too. I was looking for more. Parang may kulang lang... and medyo na-rush ata.
There are things here and there na pwede naman wala na sa story pero I guess that's how the author writes at since bago lang naman din si author, madami pang room for improvements.
I read this in less than 24 hrs and not really a fan of miscommunication and love triangle tropes, but after everything happened in the story, HINDI PARIN DESERVE NI DUKE SI SOLENE, AND I'M GLAD HE'S AWARE OF THAT.
Ramdam ko while reading this novel 'yong saya, frustration, galit, gulat, kalungkutan, disappointment, at pagtitimpi.
Like, they just say sorry in one kabanata during a party (?) and that's it and ang kagandahan lang din sa special chapter is yong aware nga si duke (and even troy) that they don't deserve their partners even after everything.
I get that all of them were just caught in a tight situation but Duke could have atleast informed Sol about the problems arising instead of hiding and misleading her to thinking that he likes Mitzie. I just wanted to rate this 3.5 stars because even when they met each other again he became cold towards Sol when he was mainly at fault fof the things that happened if his girlfriend was not misinformed. One of my "ehhhhh's" in the book is that Mitzie knew that Duke had a relationship and fell for him and didn't even try to seek her boundaries.
Although character development was evident, I just think na this story was not my cup of tea unlike College Series #2.
3 points because I love Sol, I love Troy, and I love Harvin. Turn off lang sa akin si Duke pero I mean no harm, just my opinion :>
- The rollercoaster of emotions. You will have a love hate relationship with the characters in the book. Which I love! The characters aren’t perfect, they have their flaws and they have their own character arcs.
Duke is not the typical dreamy boy, who is so perfect in all sides. He has his flaws and his own development. I admire Idy’s writing and her set ups.
The reality of life is present in the books and shows the hard parts of it. That it’s not all rainbows and sunshine! This boot is indeed heartbreaking but still beautiful.
Do I recommend? YES! Time to break the wattpad is jeje stereotype and support our own young contemporary writers!
Trigger warnings! - Suicide, Mental Health problems, Domestic Abuse, murder.
first wp and romance read in a while... and it def captures the innocence and angst of a young love. banter of lines especially during scenes in the campus bw these 4 friends are so funny and relatable, and mc's chemistry especially during their in-denial phase of falling in love was just chef's kiss — especially that drunk rooftop scene. it also remind me carson x gio, lalo na noong nabanggit ang elyu!! ♡♡♡
i love that the author made it realistic (characters are portrayed with flaws and mistakes, not as sugar coated as the usual wp tropes) but unrealistic at the same time, bc of excessiveee twists and plots that just made the story too full packed and sometimes a little cringey.
overall, i enjoyed it naman, especially in its first few chapters, but in the middle parang nawala yung momentum sa sobrang dami ng nangyayari.
i still love it tho... sol x duke!! ♡

Sooooooo, this is the first book I’ve read again since 2020. The last book I read was Rain in España when the pandemic started—just sharing. Anw, this is also the first Wattpad book I’ve read by inksteady.
I really like Sol’s character. She’s strong, independent, and knows her worth despite everything she went through. I love how she didn’t let her struggles define her and kept pushing forward. She’s the kind of female lead that you just can’t help but root for. Bagay sa kanya nickname niya na Sol because, like the sun, she remains strong and keeps shining despite everything she has been through.
As for Duke, I don’t hate him, but I don’t like him either. He’s a red flag. I get that he wanted to prioritize his niece, but he didn’t consider how much he was hurting Sol in the process. He had good intentions, but his decisions were questionable.
Kuya Sean, Duke, and Mitzie all have terrible decision-making skills. I was so frustrated with them at some points in the book.
Troy and Harvin were my favorites after Sol. They were actually good friends who supported her. I just wish they had more scenes!
Jelay and Atreus? That betrayal hit differently. Even though Sol didn’t have feelings for Atreus, they still betrayed her trust, especially Jelay. It wasn’t just about Atreus—it was about friendship. I feel like this part of the story wasn’t properly addressed. Sol deserved better friends.
Sa writing style, it was easy to read, which I liked. It flowed smoothly, and the emotions were delivered well. However, some of the twists felt too forced and predictable, as if they were added just for shock value. They weren’t even fully resolved or explained.
One of the things that still bothers me is Nanay Yella’s murder and suicide. I feel so bad for Sol, but I still don’t fully understand the reasoning behind it. It felt rushed, and I wish it had been explored more.
Also, if Mitzie didn’t get pregnant, Duke wouldn’t have been that stressed. His actions were heavily influenced by that situation, which made things even more frustrating.
Despite my frustrations with some characters and plot points, I still enjoyed reading this book. It made me feel a lot of emotions—kilig, anger, sadness, frustration—but that’s what makes a story engaging.
Will I read the second book in the series? YES POO!!

Tried getting back into reading Wattpad books after so many years and I chose this one because of good reviews. But seems like those reviews are only due to hype.
But going now about the book, technical-wise, maganda ang narration at ang dialogues. May tumatatak.
Story and plot-wise... sorry, but I find the romance and drama so forced. I don't think any authors should use the reason "the characters are flawed" just to get away from them writing insensible characters and situations.
Yung love between Sol and Duke, noong inakala kong sobrang lalim dahil matagal silang magkakilala at matagal nag-push and pull. And then in the next chapter, they're, what? Lusting over each other? Natawa na lang ako.
Yung mga conflict, yung situation, I found most of them written for "convenience" only to get through the story. Just think about Sol's nanay, na maraming nakakakilala sa kanila. Walang nagtaka at nag-alala? Speaking of money, Sol described her family as mahirap. But how she was able to do some things in their home that typical poor Filipino family could not really do... please make those make sense.
Sayang din ang character ni Mitzie. So much potential na pwede panghugutan ng magandang drama at mental health issue.
First story daw ito ng author so I am still going to give her other works a chance. The next book in the series seems promising, maybe I will read that later.

i like how the story was written. na-execute naman ng maayos ni author yung mensahe na nais niyang iparating, pati yung pagkakasulat ng mga characters.
i just don't really like some of the characters, lalo na si duke. seryoso, from when he was introduced hanggang sa dulo hindi ko talaga siya nagustuhan.

I feel like Solene deserved so much better than Duke. But this book really shows us that we can't choose who we love.
Solene had already been in love with Duke since they were kids. Duke liked Solene too, but he was—idk—in denial? And the way he just pointed at the stairs and when Solene followed him, they made out... Goodness! But overall, I think I can't hate Duke anymore. He felt like he had to do that to save—not just Mitzie—but also his brother’s baby. I don't hate Duke; I hate his brother! Oh my God. How can I even describe my hate towards his brother?! And I also hate Bethany. I hate people who push themselves onto others even though they know that person is already in love with someone else. I can't stand people like Bethany. Honestly, I dislike her even more than I dislike Mitzie.
P.S. Solene already moved on because she realized her love for Duke will never end. In the last chapter—where, I forgot her name—their neighbor told her that if she really wants Duke for life, she would have to suffer from jealousy from time to time. But we saw in Reese's POV in another special chapter dedicated to the three girls of the series that Duke is really taking care of Solene. And, damn, she really loves this man. I'm happy for her. Solene deserved what she loves, and that's Duke. So I think we should understand and accept that.
I LOVE INKSTEADY but with this, hear me out. Out of the three books in the series, this is my least favorite. I think this is my least favorite of all of her books. First, this is the first book she has written, so I would say, as a first-timer, her writing style's okay! Easy to understand, you would also be hooked on it, and the dialogues are good and witty! (I would drop it instantly if not.)
But (i know sobrang daming nag a-argue nito online and they said to understand the ML) but GIRL??? First of all, the “mas hindi niya inaasahan ‘to” scene is still living in my head. You can comfort the other girl, but you can't comfort your girlfriend? I mean, you couldn't have said it that way. When he gave the girl a food and didn't have another for his girl, AND MORE. THERE ARE MORE SCENES OTHER THAN THAT THAT ARE FRUSTRATING. You can't even change my mind with “the other girls pregnant, he's afraid, of course he would be very careful” etc, because yeah, but hello? can't treat his girlfriend nicely while also treating the other one nicely? I don't get it. (sumasakit ulo ko hshwhshwhshwa nirerecall ko kasi since matagal na rin no'ng binasa ko ‘to😭)
To end this, I just feel like she forgave them easily after the hardship she faced. This story made me feel a lot of emotions too: kilig, pain,. I SOBBED!

This is a touching story about family, love, and forgiveness. It reminds us that no matter how strong and resilient we may be, there comes a time when we all need a helping hand. And life is not always a seamless journey of happiness. The story unfolds with heartfelt intensity, focusing on Sol's depressing experiences. The narrative is so gripping that I found myself saying, "Oh my God!" on countless occasions. The characters were well described and portrayed, contributing to the story's fast-paced and engaging quality. I wonder if Star Cinema could capture the same level of emotion if they adapt the book into a movie.
While the story maintains its intensity in the first half, there's a noticeable dip after Chapter 21, parang tinamad na mag-isip yung writer sa second half. Everything became predictable and somewhat boring. However, the story managed to redeem itself towards the end with lots of surprising twists.
Very obvious that this is a work of fiction, given some impossible scenarios that might prompt a few 'duh' moments. For instance, Sol was in Amsterdam to attend a baking contest, and then a foreigner interviewed her, specifically asked why she left Isabela province? Like, really? What a stupid question for a baking contest interview, as if he knows where Isabela is! Duh?!
It's a good read for teenagers yearning for a love story that will move them to their core. Initially, I planned to give it 3 stars, but I added one for all my WTF moments.
It was a roller coaster ride, it may not be the typical romance we've all read bcs it is not the type of love that we all would really 'romanticize'.
But this story would have a very special place in my heart, this is actually my first time ever reading a realistic story building that actually happens or has something to do with real life events (which is actually quite surprising).
There are many times I screamed while reading this book, the times where the characters were all hectic and chaotic. GOSH. TRUST ME. I really want to get IN the book and tell the characters to stfu, sit down, and JUST talk.
BESTIES. If you don't want to encounter wrong decision maker typa character. I'm telling you, drop the book and just save yourself some time (like the author alr said/posted on her wattpad account).
But after all the ups and downs that happened, I realized that I learned A LOT from this book (but I won't be telling you coz' it's personal yk).
This is my first time reading one of her works, and I'm so excited to read TTW next.
Remember, "Your life may not go according to your plan, but that doesn't mean you failed. You're meant for something more greater and more profound" - Inksteady
I just saw lot of people saying this story is good so I give it a try and I liked it. This story makes me cry a lot. The characters have flaws but you will certainly learn something from them.
For Sol, I like how she strives to achieve her dreams despite of the pain she suffered in the process and also how powerful her love is. There are just instances that I hate her decisions but I understand it since we really all make mistakes. I admire how strong and brave she is.
For Duke, I don't really like much his character. I just got irritated with him when he let Sol feel neglected or unworthy. Like Sol is his girlfriend but he always choose Mitzie but I kinda understand it in his pov.
At first, I like Atreus since he was there for Sol but when Duke came into picture I hate him. He is manipulative. Just too many red flags for him.
It doesn't mean that when a person seems to be strong, he/she doesn't need anyone. Everyone needs a helping hand no matter how strong he/she appeared to be.

is it legal to rate 4 stars to a book that made me cry at 2 am?
because if it is, then i think i did the right thing.
i immediately loved the story in an instant, it was a unique plot i've read after how many years.
it tackled about college life, family problems, mental health, and friendship. it showed the REALITY i've observed lately. the author said that her stories are far from the ideal, but when i finished it, i was kinda disappointed because i don't expect them to have happily ever after. **it's too ideal for a main character to be happy with her long time lover.**
but it's ok, for me, the ending part was the only manageable scene i read. the other chapters, they are devastating as hell.
i'm onto the 2nd book already after finishing this! so excited.
This made me cry and swollen my eyes albeit the summer heat that scorches!!! I started reading it with the daylight, and my hot tears really career what role they were playing to begin with--so heartbreaking and pure!!! Like you cannot stop crying over it. This is recommended by someone and she got a really good choice.
But still, I admit that despite of intrications and complications they had been through, I love how they still try to work things out. Mapapa-"Sana all" ka nalang eh haha. Sana all.
Out of all the wattpad books I have read, inksteady's books are the one I love. The composition of the book, it is well written an well versed. The plot twists - muy bien 🤌🏼
FOR THE DEEP FEELERS ONLY. (not the typical cliche, all easygoing stories) You have a lot of takeaways from each book. For me it made me aware of different mental health issues or disorders and I can't wait to reread all of the books once I have the physical of the book.
Cheers inksteady! Ease your mind and you take a lot of rest. We will wait your beautiful mind.
Have read this on wattpad, read it for the 3rd time with my physical book para maangas. This book is realy an easy read and recommended to those who wants to start reading.
I love how strong Sol is. Despite of heavy problems, without anyone with her side, she still manage to shine; a ray of sun, indeed. We can get motivation and lessons from her experiences. She taught me that I can be my own knight. she's a role model and i admire her due to her cleverness.
Duke in the otherhand often got overwhelmed by the situations to the point that he will later regret all of the stuffs that he did. I still love him though, even with his redflags, i still manage to like him. love him for his accountability, commitment and perseverance of taking Solene back to his arms. The flaws that comes along with Duke's character makes the story more realistic that we can reflect to.
