Wala pa akong nireview na Wattpad story dito sa Goodreads pero I'll put an exemption for this because I feel like ang underrated ng book na ito when actually it's a gem!

This has always been my 'comfort read' whenever I read/watched something depressing or just when I'm feeling blue . I miss those times na inaabangan ko kapag may update noon, circa 2016 (I feel so old already), kasi naman stress reliever talaga ito hahaha. I think it became a tradition already na ireread ito every year when I'm bored, kapag miss ko mga characters or wala akong trip na basahing bagong wp story(well, di na talaga ako nagbabasa ng new stories, puro reread nalang ginagawa ko). Pero seryoso, ang dami kong gustong sabihin sa book na ito at 'di ko talaga alam if I can put it all into words.

-The slow burn romance is sooooo adorable- hindi siya frustrating at all. Like hinihintay mo lang talaga 'yung perfect timing para mag-upgrade ang 'platonic' excuse nila lol. I enjoyed seeing Andreau and Zade's character growing together and their friendship made a strong foundation for their relationship.

-It's not just the romance ang reason (main reason) kung bakit gustong-gusto ko ito, it's how they are passionate with their courses or dream profession. Their passions brought them together. Andreau's love for film is evident and tuwang-tuwa talaga ako sa pagiging movie buff niya kahit di ko gets mga movie/series references minsan. I love Zade, and yes, biased talaga ako sa mga fictional characters na mahilig sa libro. Zade influenced me, I learned a lot from her character (note: maraming educational lessons din sa TSIB), to the point na I considered as second choice 'yung course niya dito. I both love their traits and personalities, it complements both of them.

-Actually, mas maraming narrative dito kaysa dialogues which people may find boring but that wasn't the case for me 'coz I had more fun reading in this writing style at nabigyan din ng more emphasis ang character ni Zade dahil dito , plus it's more imaginative this way.

-Ang realistic. It gave me hints about college life and coming of age lessons.

-I LOVE ALL THE SUPPORTING CHARACTERS (MARS, KESH X ROLDAN, MISS MARISSE AND TRISTAN)

-Now, what really didn't convince me is their ages. I mean... I think it's not appropriate/di kapani-paniwala? They both talk like mature people, parang matanda silang mag-usap haha(soo married talaga). Don't get me wrong, 'yung first part ng book kasi, ka-edad ko si Zade pero I don't think I have that level of maturity yet while conversing. But well, I think their life experiences justified that.

Okay, tama na, and dami ko nang sinabi. 😆 (edited dahil ang dami kong typo and I might edit this again soon kapag may idadagdag ako. kbye)

Grabe, I want more. Slow burn done right.

Read this for two weeks and I won't ever regret it.

At first, I was really hesitant to this read this story because the word count is intimidating (300k!!!) but when I started, damn, I was already in it to finish.

Mostly narratives siya and I thought I would get bored but I really love how it was written. It's like the character is telling you a story, their story. And Zades' is so talkative, I love her so much. Because of Zades' talkativeness, I learned a lot from this story (god, the word porn)! Also, the film things from Andreau!

IMO, this story doesn't really focus on the romantic side. It focuses on how their relationship evolved from strangers to friends/enemies to lovers, grabe, chef's kiss. I also love how they fight! SO FREAKING MARRIED!

The brain sex was one of my favorite thing about them. They just... talk. Their communication is refreshing, I want that kind. Even though Andreau had a hard time of expressing his feelings, they still manage to communicate, in any way possible. I also love how they compromise.

Andreau's smiles. Zade's smiles. Their passion. Their weirdness. Their differences.

I also love the side characters!! I wish I could read about Leanya and Dan's LL more. :<

I want more.

I want more.

This just became one of my favorite book.

So, The Spaces in Between. It took me almost 2 weeks (I guess?) to finish this story, which is rare for me since normally, 3 days lang tapos na ko sa isang libro. Sa sobrang tagal kong kasama sila Zades and Andreau, now that I'm done, I'm having a bad case of sepanx.

Now I've got a few thoughts for this story. TSIB is one of stories that belongs to old wattpad days, old but gold ganern. If nabasa mo na siya dati pa it means you're a certified tita of wattpad. Honestly, at first sobrang hirap akong magadjust sa narration ng kwento, the 13 year old me will probably love it but the 20 something me? She's not so into it. If you're going to read it in wattpad, I'll say that the story has a lot of unnecessary lines, scenes na I think walang ambag sa kwento at nagpapahaba lang ng story, making it look like dragging or something, plus maraming cringey lines which I understand naman since ang tagal na ngang naisulat. If binasa ko siya sa wattpad? I'll probably give this a 3 stars.

But like I said, "If". Good thing that I read the book version. The book version is so much better for me, it suits my taste. Edited lines, no more dragging scenes and lahat ng chapters are perfect to help you stay rooted to your chair cause you won't be able to put the book down. Andreau and Zade's story is a great example of a slow burn romance where you'll find yourself somewhere along the book, cursing and screaming at them to "Just kiss already!" (While still smiling). But what I like about it is hindi siya boring, walang patay na eksena and hindi nakakastress dahil naiinis ka na sa mga bida kasi sobrang bagal nila, there's nothing like that. Instead, you'll find yourself smiling, kinikilig everytime may konting improvement sa relationship nila. I also like how some parts are deep and will amaze you, mapapasabi ka nalang ng, "Wow, how come this author is so poetic?" . May mga lines na mapapaisip ka talaga, I like Zade and Andreau's views in life. Plus word porn!! If you read it, you'll know what I mean.

But what I like the most? The special chapters, as in! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this is a slow burn romance so that's why wala ng masyadong eksena of Zades and Andreau as a couple. The special chapters answered all of my prayers tho, I love it because iba yung level ng kilig doon, TSIB from chapter 1 to epilogue gave me 80% and the special chapters made it to 100%. What I found na "kulang", pinunan ng special chapters. Don't worry, if you're worried na wala kang book to read the special chapters, Ms. Leng made it possible by creating a soft copy of TSIB on Ao3. May special chapters dun though hindi lahat but still, worth it parin.

I still have questions like what happened to other characters? I'm gonna look for answers by reading the wattpad version kasi baka naedit out lang ganun. All in all, I understand now why TSIB is a comfort story for some. Ang sarap nga naman balikan palagi. In my case, I'm gonna re-read it again soon, that's no doubt.

This story is a masterpiece. I discovered this last 2017 but I do reread it from time to time (ngayon ko lang naisipan i-rate lol). I love that the story did not just focus on the romance between the main characters but rather on their individual growth: Andreau becomes more open and expressive and Zades becoming more mature—kung hindi pa sya mature enough at that age. It's kinda long and there are some parts that I find kind of boring but overall, it's worth it. Kudos to the author!

TANGINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA that's what it really feels like reading this book! It tugged my heartstrings, made me cry-laugh and got me falling in love with every banter and moment they had. I was jumping and screaming and giggling like the teenage girl that I am. I just—love is an understatement—I want to breathe this book and digest every part of it like oxygen.

Never been a fan of slow-burn burn yet I'm down for this book. I admire how it was narrated and the flow of the scenes seems too natural and not rushed. Also, loved the fact that I also learned a lot of unfamiliar terms.
