Ogni volta che esce un libro di Aly Martinez faccio i salti di gioia, è una di quelle autrici che acquisto a occhi chiusi e ha scritto alcuni dei miei libri preferiti. Oggi vi presento Thrive, il secondo capitolo della serie The Guardian Protection, e che racconta la storia di Lark e il suo grande amore.
Thrive è un romanzo sulle seconde occasioni. Jeremy Lark si è innamorato di Mira York da giovane, ma lei a quel tempo stava con il suo migliore amico. Era off limits, ma questo non impediva ai due di passare del tempo assieme come amici.
Solo che quel sentimento crescerà, trasformandosi in amore, un amore che li costringerà a un addio sofferto.
Diciassette anni dopo, Mira è costretta a chiedere aiuto e protezione proprio a Jeremy. Nonostante l'addio crudele di Mira, Jeremy non riesce a soffocare quel sentimento per lei. Nonostante la rabbia, amerete il suo personaggio: un tipico uomo alfa alla Martinez con un grande cuore e dai gesti da occhi a cuore.
E' innegabile l'attrazione e la connessione fra i due personaggi, questo grazie alla scrittura di Aly Martinez.
I due sono costretti a passare tanto tempo assieme, a vivere sotto lo stesso tetto. Ripercorreranno assieme gli errori del passato, fino a diventare quasi impossibile soffocare quel sentimento che in diciassette anni non si è mai spento.
Tra tensione, rabbia e passione, intraprendiamo un viaggio sulle montagne russe, aggiungete suspense e un pizzico di mistero feed ecco che avete tra le mani un un altro gioiellino di Aly Martinez.
