Probability, Statistics, and Random Processes For Electrical Engineering

Rate this book
This is the standard textbook for courses on probability and statistics, not substantially updated. While helping students to develop their problem-solving skills, the author motivates students with practical applications from various areas of ECE that demonstrate the relevance of probability theory to engineering practice. Included are chapter overviews, summaries, checklists of important terms, annotated references, and a wide selection of fully worked-out real-world examples. In this edition, the Computer Methods sections have been updated and substantially enhanced and new problems have been added.

I didn't care much for this text. If you use it, I would recommend getting a hard copy instead of an e-copy. There is a lot of, "this resembles equation x.y," and, "use the same conditions as example a.b," where you'll find yourself needing to flip pages frequently. Personally, I thought the language used made the material more complicated than necessary-- could have been much more concise yet just as effective. I missed what part of it-- beyond having examples about defective chips-- was supposed to make it specifically for Electrical Engineering.

poor treatment of a beautiful subject matter. I didn't find it built much intuition for the subject matter and spent too much time teaching you about all the machinery.
