This is an excellent book that provide a good understanding of the mixed methods research. It provides a good introduction, the different mixed methods designs, the philosophical background and recent update in the field. It also provides examples and applications of all the designs. Given that mixed methods is a growing field of research methods with more of articles than compiled books, this book is a good place to start with if you intend to carry out a mixed methods.
