Spanish Grammar in Context uses authentic text to illustrate and explain the key areas of Spanish grammar, and then offers a range of exercises for students to test their understanding and to produce effective language of their own. Aimed at intermediate and advanced learners, and with a key to the exercises provided, the book is suitable for independent and tutor-led study. Sourced from contemporary literature, newspaper and magazine articles from both Spain and Latin America, the texts are up-to-date and topical, and together with the exercises which have been expanded for the second edition, give students a comprehensive coverage of Spanish grammar
I can't say I loved this one, though that could be partly due to how much I absolutely loved Italian Grammar In Practice, Exercises, Theory And Grammar. Now if someone could make a Spanish version of that book I would be eternally grateful.
I have studied Spanish for ten years, to date this is the best grammar book I’ve found for the language and I own the French and Portuguese versions.
The book covers everything you need about verb conjugation and most sentence formation. The book begins most chapters with the name of the grammatical concept and a passage demonstrating it, this is followed by an explanation of usage(e.g. why this past tense is different than another) and then goes into formation with major exceptions included and a reference to the back of the book for a complete list.
The formatting is clean and information organized effectively, with the book following a clear linear progression. In fact the reason I’m so impressed by this book that the reason I even found this page is because I’m trying to find the group that produces these books to see if they have a version for German.
Me gustó un montón. Explica las cosas muy sencillamente y entendiblemente. Las lecturas son interesantes. No hay un montón de ejercicios, pero creo que sería imposible cubrir tanta materia más tener muchos ejercicios sin convertirse en un libro muy largo.
Lo arrepiento que no lo pudiera terminar, pero tenía que devolverlo a la biblioteca.
