Being a survivor of horrific domestic abuse, Evie Kline is afraid of men and the hurt that they bring into her life. But a love of writing and the frustration of something lacking from her novel lead her to an interview with the enigmatic billionaire Liam Duff. Liam Duff is known as the rich Playboy. He owns multiple businesses, including a Gothic nightclub in the heart of Las Vegas that hides his real passion underneath its dance floor. The club is an unnamed Members Only BDSM venue that serves only the richest and most elite clientele, with himself as the Headmaster. The attraction, at first sight, is overwhelming for both, eliciting desires and fears that live just beneath the surface, and the more that Evie runs from him, the more determined he is to show her that not all men are bad and that she needs to trust in herself and the feelings they have for each other. Will Evie be okay with Liam being the dominant master of a sex club? Will Liam be able to protect her from the danger following her? Will their budding Romance be able to survive their separate lives clashing together at a frenzied pace?
I’ll have to get my thoughts together before I post a detailed review but overall just sort of a mess. Full of editing mistakes, bad plot points, characters that aren’t fully fleshed out at best and horribly constructed at worse. On top of all of that it has moments where it is so startlingly problematic for a multitude of reasons I’ll fully flesh out later. Couldn’t recommend.
Evelyn meets Liam when she requests a meeting to interview him for a book she has been struggling to write. She is instantly drawn to this handsome green eyed Irish man. When they touch their is a spark between them that frightens her after an extremely violent past with her abusive ex. Evie runs out when her feelings become too much as she is terrified if Liam sees the scars from her past that he would be disgusted with her.
Liam is ensnared by Evie and will stop at nothing to get her to stop running from him. He turns out to be a really wonderful man that falls fast after never being a relationship guy before Evie.
Stephen (the ex) has found Evie and is now Stalking her. This leads to Liam hiring Jeremy and other guys as security to protect Evie.
This did start out as a slow burn 🔥. Once they become intimate though the spice keeps on coming. This did end on a cliffhanger.
Story is ok, but drawn out more than necessary. The editing in the book is nonexistent. Misspelled words, missing puncuation, wrong form of a word (think there instead of their), grammatical errors (hadn't of...instead of hadn't have). The constant errors in the book almost had me put this on the DNF list, but I hate not finishing stories.
Plenty of spicy scenes in the book, but again, the story itself is overly drawn out to the point it gets boring/repetitive at times.
DNFed. Life’s too short to read books you don’t like.
The writing and plot already felt VERY off. And seeing I’m on page 30 of 645 per my kindle….no way in hell.
Right from the jump there’s a weird vibe going on between the two main characters. Granted idk how the rest of this book goes, but I feel like some background or lead up would be nice. Not one meeting and them acting like they know they’re end game type shit.
Such a great book. As someone who is not the typical stick figure woman, having a curvy main character was lovely. I survived a horrible ex- and to read a story where she survives and heals while finding her forever person, was so cathartic for me. I could not put the book down. I am so excited to dive into the next in the series!! Definitely will be recommending!
The idea was good, but it just came across like a teen wrote it. The pace and tone of the book was all wrong. The female protagonist was completely immature and the male went from being a puppy dog to bossy way to quickly and at all the wrong times. Nothing seemed to happen organically and came across rushed. I have been skimming through just to get through it.
One of the most intense books I have read lately. Evie and Liam are a great couple and deserve happiness. It's a journey not for the faint of heart. I laughed and cried with this couple. I felt proud of all they have tried to overcome and they just keep going on with love. I recommend this book if you can handle the content.
I liked the storyline, it was interesting and a little different than others. I had to stop reading the series because there was SO MANY spelling and grammar mistakes, it was making me crazy. If it weren't for that, I would've read the full series.
Such an amazing book! This series is quickly becoming my favorite series thus far and I'm excited for the rest of the books. 10/10 recommend! Sexy, sultry, adventurous, all around fantastic!
This book was all over the place and it ended with a cliff hanger which in my opinion wasn’t needed. Everything should have been wrapped up in book one.
