Lemme tell you the plot as far as I've read:

My sister has an affair with a married man linked to the mafia, and they run away suddenly.
The mafia comes after me to find my sister's whereabouts.
I'm held hostage but I'm very charismatic and daring and manage to run away more times than the reader can count and am caught each time but it's cool because at least I was able to ditch them from time to time.
During one of these runs, I visit my ex and he, being an absolute sweetheart, helps me through the rest of the plot.
I and my ex trick the mafia leader and tase him, then film a sex tape with him bound to a bed, gagged as blackmail material.
The mafia leader doesn't care because his ego is too big to show any emotion and also because he kind of enjoyed it (bear with me here... I'm just as flabbergasted as you are.)
The mafia leader finds me again and we play cat and mouse for multiple chapters where he catches me and uses my body to punish me; almost wants to order to have me killed cuz he's so pissed off at me he can't stop thinking about me; can't because he has weird feelings for me but of course those feelings could only be that I piss him off nothing else, of course not; then I run away before he can kill me; he catches me again; makes me dress up in kinky things during ze punishment and the cycle repeats itself.
During one of those escapes, I fall down a cliff (or something I'm not quite sure. He's just injured, that's the main point) and get amnesia.
The amnesia makes me think I'm 20 and that the mafia leader is my boyfie.
The mafia leader goes along with it(???) because apparently, this might be a good way to get info(???) out of me even tho we established multiple chapters ago that I was of no use and should be killed to make things easier.
––– skipped a few chapters because I was at the end of my patience –––

Apparently, now my sister has been found, and she's getting surgery using the mafia leader's money, I'm living with the mafia leader and he has a habit of getting drunk and asking me to date him even tho he's about to get married!!!! and I reject him because my only vulnerability is that I'm an orphan and was made fun of, and tend to get clingy with partners.

~~~ end of my patience ~~~
I'm....not even sure what to say. It probably sounds a lot better summed up but it's so annoying and weird in the comic. I know that it wants to not be too serious but that would be fine if there weren't really serious topics discussed as well. Like there will be a few panels where we'll get into the characters' childhoods and how they each went thru trauma but then there will be an intense sex scene out of absolutely nowhere and it just ruins all the buildup of feelings. Also, any information we get unrelated to sex is ignored in the next few chapters so really....this is just an author wanting to make lots of hate fucking scenes but needing a story and characters that aren't just two handsome men with names.
Dnf at ... I-don't-even-know-neither-do-I-want-to-go-back-and-check.
BL manhwa based on a novel
🔞 Dark romance
Very enthusiastic consent for the most part
But it can also be controversial
Chaotic mc
Korean mob love interest
Enemies to s*x partners to lovers
Forced proximity
Unhinged characters
They feed off each other
Kidnappings
Orphan siblings
Trauma kings
Violence
Plot twists
The story has a really appealing & memorable prologue! It made me eager to learn how the characters got there and about their dynamics, since there are romantic feelings involved despite the... unorthodox situation. It goes from the present, to relegating us with the chronological past (kinda like the classic: *Record scratch, freeze frame* "Yep, that's me… You're probably wondering how I got here." *Rewinds back to the relevant past*)
Mongryong is a never seen before protagonist for me, who keeps it surprising until the end. He is a buoyant badass full of attitude & snark, who thinks outside the box. I love that he can be both adorable and a menace 😹
The webtoon was entertaining for a long time, and then it got old, it lacked depth to chain me in. I felt like Mongryong and Jeha's backgrounds could've been been explained more. And at some point, I did not feel like rooting for the two of them romantically 🤷‍♀️ Also, although this BL does a lot of things differently (like Mongmong being very into s*x instead of the fake "no, when I mean yes" that manga finds so moe, and I could never swallow 😒), it still falls into the old trap of pairings having no proper communication and just "solving" everything with intercourse. Just set me free of that poppycock.
One complaint I have is that the prologue is what hooked me, and I had been waiting the whole story for it to catch up to the present, tie it to the rest of the narrative and contextualise it properly. But when it reaches the present, the manhwa fails to do so. The ending was very unsatisfying.
I think this can be a success for many readers, but I feel ambivalent.
CW: Plenty of triggers & immoral criminal actions that never go unchallenged
Temos ameaças de morte, tentativas de assassinato, cárcere privado, xingamento enemies to lovers, mafiosos, tudo o que se precisa para ter um relacionamento saudável. O MongMong perfeito e uma figura a parte. O Jeha... é o Jeha. Acho que poderiam ter focado um pouco mais nele. A gente não sabe nada do cara que ele apaixonado só que ele morreu.
O manhwa tem 59 capítulos, mas se tirar todas as cenas de sexo sobra uns 25 de história e desenvolvimento de personagem kkkkk
Enfim é um manhwa legalzinho para passar o tempo e não pensar muito sobre a vida.
This was hilarious. Loved the dynamic between the two MMCs (to use bookish terms here with a BL manhwa). It felt pretty unique and I just loved that Mongryong could give as good as he could get! I felt like I was on the edge of my seat wondering what could possibly happen next, because Mongryong was just that unpredictable - but like in the best way possible. And as soon as Jeha was down bad... whew, could not stop reading.
There's unhinged and then there's Mongryong's level unhinged. What he did to Jeha's dad.... How do you even come up with that🤣🤣🤣?
Great comedy, spice and everything not so nice! 100/10 great balance and character development which I couldn't stop laughing with the sassy bossy bottom who keeps dancing on the mafia bosses last nerve 😅
Rape used as a joke and a way to solve situations twice. Not the biggest fan of the way they gloss over pretty important things. But I have to admit, it was pretty funny, you know, rape aside (which I understand is a pretty big thing to put aside).
muy buenos dibujos, pero la trama meh. situaciones cuestionables (como la mayoría de los manhwas) y a mitad ya no entendía nada.
So fun, the mc is nuts and it is hilarious. Kidnaping the ml and making a sex tape with him just to get him out of his (mc) case, omg.
This officially the first manhwa that I’ve reread completely.
I just read a MM romance with a bratty MC that plows into situations that should be way above his pay grade with zero fear (Gentlemen Prefer Villains by C Rochelle) and needed to follow that energy with a similar story and Mongryong is the best for this so obviously I had to pick it back up. I wish this series would get an English print publication so I could have it on my shelves.
There is just something to be said about reading a ridiculous story like this that brings me so much joy. I love the pairing of the serious and ruthless crime boss Jeha getting sucked in to Mongryong’s craziness. How can you not love a character that refuses to be intimidated or back down even when he’s out matched.
Yes there are 🚩 🚩🚩 and triggers in this book but they are my favourite kind of ridiculous ❤️
Reread
The artwork is lovely, though I have to say the story is a bit all over the place and doesn't hold up over time. There are some very interesting themes here that are not elaborated on. Such as Jeha's backstory. There is a lot going on, but it's hard to follow.
Lee Mongryong is absolutely adorable and crazy in the head, haha. Honestly, you forget how much havoc he can cause for a little pink-haired man until someone crosses him, then it's game on. He is just out of control most of the time, and it has to be the highlight of this series.
Jeha's character arc is very cute, and like I said, I wish his story would have been elaborated on. He starts off as this kill first asks questions later, guy, to a doesn't know how to go on a first date cutie. Loved the characters, and the premise the story just needs some structure.
