Codex: Adeptus Custodes
The Adeptus Custodes are demigods of war, sworn to defend the Emperor to their last breath. While this book is billed as 'Codex: Adeptus Custodes' it could be titled 'Codex: Talons of the Emperor' as it covers the witch hunting Null Maidens of the Sisters of Silence, as well as the Emperor’s transhuman bodyguards.
The book follows the usual style of 9th Edition Codices beginning with the background material for both the Custodes and Sisters of Silence that brings their history right up to date, before moving on to all the rules required for using these elite forces in games of Warhammer 40,000. The background section of the book includes quite a bit of interesting information, with my favourites being the Deeds of Legend sections, in-universe reports of the actions of various Custodians. The rules section is also quite interesting, including some interesting Narrative Crusade rules, and rules for Valerian and Aleya from the 'Watchers of the Throne' novels.
