Don't get me wrong - I quite like the series, that's why I continue reading it and am looking forward to book 3. I love the characters, I love the loving relationship between Belgrieve and Angeline, and just like the first book, the second book is filled with entertaining adventures and heart-warming stories. But up until book 2, I still don't know for sure where the story is going. There are bits here and there, but they don't stir too much curiosity in me. I just hope the next books will be even better and more exciting.

Audio: 5 Stars Amazing job with the 300 different voices!

Story: I wish Japanese manga writers would stop creating ridiculous characters with exaggerated behaviors, clinginess and psycho personalities are not ok. With the exception of the creepy behavior from the daughter, the story is fun and interesting and a great balance of slice of life and adventure. Better than the anime for sure. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!

This series is excellent.

I really like, and am really drawn to the characters in this series.
I am especially fold of Bell and how he looks over and takes care of his town, and how his relationship with his daughter is also entertaining.
Now, add in her friends and the three Bodeaux daughters, and this series is just great.

Not a bad read. Kinda creepy how this 17 yo FMC acts like a 6 yo and is always rubbing and wanting to touch her dad. Woman got cheesed when he turned down taking a bath together - like girl, you giving off Sweet Alabama right now.

Not sure where the plot is going - I’m interested enough to try book #3. Helps that the volumes are short and quick haha

Heart warming

Tender moments and some good action near the end. This feels like women and men who need a good heart rending and warming read would love this. I'm a tad torn.

7.5/10

A great mixture of action and coziness.

It’s a little too soft for my tastes, which landed it a 7.5, but I could see this being an easy 8 or 9 for someone with a less specialized taste.

I jumped in to this book right after listening to the first and I was very glad I did. While I still have no idea if there is a larger story arc this book was leaps and bounds better than the first.

This is a fun adventure, fantasy progression series. The FMC finally makes it home to visit her father who is her idol. She spends time sparing with him but he worries for her because he doesn’t see the side of her other adventurers get to see. That is until they find themselves in a real battle where he sees her true abilities at work. Even though the FMC seems like she might be OP in some situations she definitely has some pretty tough fights on her hand.

Angeline is finally back home with her father for a much deserved vacation so let the spoiling begin. Of course, all vacations must come to an end. Belgrieve travels part way with the three to deliver a letter about potential restoration of the roads. The trip is not going to be as easy as they expect.

Much like previous volumes a mix of wholesome slice-of-life with fighting fiends and a smattering of nobles plotting. Combined with likeable characters, an intriguing world and over-arching plot and I ended up enjoying the read despite it at times irritating behaviour of Angeline towards her father. 5-year olds might act like that, I doubt 17-years do even if they really love their dads.

All in all, an entertaining read. Up to the next volume.
