Miss Winnifred Keating is desperate. With her brother missing and little to no power in her hands, she has but one choice if she wants to see him again: work with the most insufferable Duke she has ever met.
Seth Dunn, Duke of Cambolton, will stop at nothing to get his sister back after she disappeared without a trace. Even if that means calling a truce with an opinionated lady who hates his guts.
Pushed together by their shared goal, their search for their missing siblings awakens not only new feelings but also a beast from the past. And it all starts with a letter, detailing their siblings' very own funeral.
Hanna Hamilton has been fascinated with the Regency era ever since she was a young teen, first discovering historical romance novels by famous authors such as Jane Austen and Lisa Kleypas. She believes that love was just so much more magical back then, more like a fairy tale. She always daydreamed about finding love herself that way, but since that is impossible in the twenty-first century, she decided to write about it instead!
Born in Texas, Hanna Hamilton obtained a degree in Creative Writing and has worked as a literature teacher before becoming a novelist. When she isn’t writing, Hanna likes to explore the countryside with her husband and two children, gaining inspiration from the natural world around her.
So, come on a journey into love, confusion, and redemption all within the Regency era. Hanna hopes that you will enjoy immersing yourself into her novels and that you too will find a love for old-fashioned romance, just as she has.
Leo Keating is missing. Two weeks ago he left his home to go to his Uncle and Aunts. He never arrived there. Leo is in business with Seth Dunn, Duke of Cambolton, they are also the best of friends. The Duke's sister Rose has also been missing for two weeks. Leo's sister Winnifred wonders if there is a connection. Seth doesn't think so as he said they didn't know each other. They both have hired Mr. Markham, a private detective to find their siblings. They also will each conduct their own investigations. Winnie thought they should work together but Seth said no. However, when they both find themselves at the same house in a bad part of London, Seth changed his mind. He didn't want Winnie to be traveling around St. Giles by herself, especially at night. Will Leo & Rose be found unharmed? Why were they taken? Have Winnie and Seth got something in common? These characters are fleshed out. I felt like I knew them. The plot is well constructed and the story is well written. I enjoyed this story although it was also a page-turner. There were times I didn't want to put the book down. There is danger, mystery, suspense, intrigue, secrets, and love. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Loved it! Seth and Leo have been friends and business partners for years. Winnie, Leo’s sister, has been in love with Seth for just as long, but knew nothing would come of it since he is a duke ans she a baron’s daughter. The other two in the main cast of characters are Rose, Seth’s sister, and Victoria, Leo and Winnie’s sister. When Rose and Leo go missing, Seth and Winnie must work together to find them. This story is so well done and wonderfully conceived. Not only does it include the intricacies of clue finding and deciphering, but also the burgeoning of multiple romances. There are complex sibling and familial relationships that complicate and interfere with sevearl matters. This book sets a lively pace, has multiple surprises and is most definitely on its way to being a best seller.
Code Name Duchess A Historical Regency Romance Novel
This is another very good story about family and love.Winifred is looking for her brother that is missing so she gets in touch with his friend Seth a duke and finds his sister is missing There are twists and turns but the couple realize that they are in love and they find out the cuts that are guilty. The characters are very courageous and determined. This is a very good plot and full of mystery and betrayal The extended epilogue years later shows happiness
Kidnapping betrayals and romance are the theme of this book which throws a Duchess and a Duke together with a common goal, despite their turbulent past. There's a decent amount of suspense and plot twists as they do what they can to find their siblings in a nightmare come to life for the pair of them.I kept turning pages to see what would happen next and how the book would be resolved. Not your normal regency romance plot but it works well.
Another enjoyable book by Hanna. Winnifred Keating‘s brother is missing, as is Seth Dunn the Duke of Cambolton’s sister. They do not like each other (to put it mildly) but they will do anything to find them even if it means working together. By doing so they find their feelings changing and a world of mystery and danger opens up around them. A good storyline and strong characters keep you reading. I received an ARC and am leaving a totally unbiased, honest and voluntary review.
Liked that the characters are intertwined lady Winnie and her brother, Leo, are close, and the Duke of Cambolton, Seth is very close with his sister Rose. Both Rose and Leo disappeared at the same time and the only way to find them is to work together, even though Seth and Winnie don't get along. When they finally figure out how to get them back something else happens. Do they finally get their siblings back or is there more to do?
This exciting book grabbed me right from the beginning and I couldn't put it down till I finished it. It was very captivating and well written. There was so many twists and turns throughout the whole book.
The story took interesting turns and at times became a tangled web. Good job on a plot with strong characters. The only complaint I have is at times the plot got lost in the damaged people.
A very interesting and enjoyable story her brother is missing and she needs help with twists and turns for you to muddle through Can her brothers friend help her
This is a good book, the characters don't spend half of the book trying not to love each other. There's some action, mystery, and love all mixed together.
Code Name Duchess is a good story with love & intrigue. However it tends to go and on details that are irrelevant. That tends to spoil for story for me.
