In the courtroom, I pride myself on how many times I can get the judge to bang the gavel and threaten me with contempt. Outside of work, I don’t have time for extra drama, which is why I’m perfectly happy with the no-strings arrangement I have with my bang buddy, Zac.
Unfortunately, my old-school colleagues consider a single woman a risk and are dragging their feet to make me partner. In order to effectively smash the patriarchy and survive the summer of couple-type events, I could use a fake fiancé. Zac’s also in a bind—his brother’s upcoming nuptials are filled with complications galore—so we strike a deal involving plus-one benefits. At first, all we can agree on is that we’d never actually work as a couple. But discovery is an important part of every case, and the more I try to blow off our growing connection, the louder my heart yells “I object.”

Enjoyable and entertaining read. Great interplay between the two main characters. Plenty of sexual interaction between two friends who both want a no-strings relationship “with benefits”. She’s a hard working lawyer trying to make partner in a male dominated law firm. She negotiates to change to a fake fiancée with Zac to improve her chances of making partner. What a riot!

*** Prologue Catalina
“Dicks, dicks everywhere, and not an inch for me.
Although “an inch” might be too accurate of a measurement when it came to the glittery-pink, phallic-shaped confetti raining down on our heads.
Ellie, one of my besties, and the thrower of this bachelorette party lowered the canon, a grimace on her face. “Sorry, everyone. I didn’t know it’d go off that easy.”
I ran a hand through my hair, shaking the projectile penises out of my dark curls. “That’s the thing about premature ejaculation. It always catches you off guard.”
Several of the women seated around the hodgepodge mixture of bar tables cackled, drawing the attention of the other patrons, and not for the first time, either. While I was freaking hilarious and all, the rambunctious mood and amount of alcohol consumed definitely played a hand in the shrieked decibel.
At this point, Ellie’s stepsister, her four bridesmaids, and the rest of the female friends and family in attendance would probably laugh at any and everything. Ellie’s vexation grew as she watched Penny fish shrapnel out of her glass. “Oh, shoot. Did some end up in your drink?”
Despite the obvious answer, Penny and I exchanged “That’s the thing about premature ejaculation. It always catches you off guard.”

Ellie’s vexation grew as she watched Penny fish shrapnel out of her glass. “Oh, shoot. Did some end up in your drink?”
Despite the obvious answer, Penny and I exchanged a glance. Our friend had been next-level stressed about throwing this party, regardless of our countless assurances we’d help ensure it go off without a hitch. Besides pitching in, our other job was to keep Ellie calm.
Penny casually shrugged a shoulder, a smile spreading across her face as she replied, “Just the tip.”
Catalina "Cat" Mendes is a wild cat as lawyer. Work is her life and she doesn't do relationships because of issues from her past. She does have a bang buddy, Izaac "Zac" Tommasi though for those special times ;). While Cat is trying to make partner at her law firm, the old fashioned partners feel that she doesn't take life serious enough and she should be in a committed relationship. At the same time Zac's brother Noah is getting married to Jeremy, Zac's ex-girlfriend Julia's brother. Zac cannot stand being around Julia and her family so he comes up with a plan that can benefit Cat and himself. Let's pretend date!
Of course, the more time the spend together not in bed, the more these two start to realize that the really like each other and might want more out of their current set up. When push came to shove, Cat had a problem moving forward because of something from her past. It will take a little time but these two will find themselves back together in no time.
I enjoyed this fake relationship love story. It was fun watching these two finally come together for real. Cat was so career focused it was great seeing her find what she really needed. Zac knew what he wanted all along, it just took some time for Cat to catch on. Together, they found a perfect happy ending.
While I liked it, I didn't quite enjoy it as much as BDE and Love's a Glitch. Those two were really funny, especially the latter. This one, not so much. At times I felt it droned on too long, and while I enjoy a good sex scene just fine, I don't need it to last the better part of two chapters. It just wasn't as easy a read as Penny and Ellie's stories.
I also felt that Catalina and Zac's feelings... well, the stuff that happened at the end seemed a little rushed. Not only with the 'always and forever' love that Cat and Zac proclaimed but also with the job stuff and even to an extent, with Julia (I'm trying to avoid spoilers). Some of the dialogue towards the end, namely from Cat, seemed a tad too saccharine for the characters, to the point where it didn't seem authentic.
Bang Buddies With Benefits is such a fun read. This one will have you giggling all the way through. This is Catalina's book. She is feisty and a force you cannot look away from. She is anti-relationship with good reason and once you find out why you heart goes out to her. You feel the sparks fly from the very beginning when it comes to Zac. I love Zac. He is more than what he seems and is full of surprises. The chemistry between Zac and Cat is amazing. If you love cute meet cutes, fake relationships to more than you are going to love this one so much. I could not get enough of Zac and Catalina. This is just a cute, sexy, fun read that you will not be able to put down.
I liked the characters but they were basic. Catalina collected facts as a way of de-stressing. Zac was the typical "bad boy:" tattoos, manscaping, owns a dive bar, no commitment. I finished a book earlier this week that the guy was actually the one with the ticking biological clock. He wanted marriage and babies before he died. That is a good twist on a trope. In this book, there are no twists. I can see it being made into a rom-com tomorrow. And following the formula is okay because at least, you took the time to learn the formula. However for me, in the end it's forgettable.
This was a good book! Cat and Zac have been "buddies" for awhile, but when Cat's bosses catch her in a compromising position Zac helps her out of it. In return, Cat is Zac's plus one. These two spend time together and get to know each other. Zac sees a whole different side to Cat and likes it. These two realize that they have feelings for each other, but neither wants to admit it. It's interesting watching them work through their issues and see where it will take them together.
Bang Buddies with Benefits is a bit of naughty fun to mke your day pass by quicker. It's a sexy fake dating your bang buddy for wedding/work benefits mess of fun. I say mess because these never go thw way the participants wNt but exactly how readers need- ending with hppily ever after.
It was slow for me but it was a good read. There was more 🌶️🌶️🌶️ than I'd expected, I was thinking more cute rom com but it was a little more than that. Still a feel good sort of story though
I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy
Read on Radish. Cat and Zac are such a delightful couple. Thoroughly enjoyed the playfulness and wept with the painful backstory. Loved this whole series.
