Our heartrate can increase and we produce hormones. Scientists have not yet been able to tap into these processes so they have to rely on the memory the dream.

Interpreting our dreams is not an attempt to predict the future but is much more about understanding our subconscious processes and problems.

Would it not be wonderful if interpreting your dreams could help you to understand yourself better?

This handbook will not only help to give you the background knowledge you need but it will also explain why we dream and how to interpret your dream symbols.

I find dream interpretation quite fascinating, especially reading about the different psychological theories behind what our dreams mean and say about us. I had little idea about how long dream interpreting has been studied and it's quite interesting.
It is also quite interesting to learn about the vastness of symbols in our dreams. I picked this book to read after I had two very different and emotionally heavy dreams almost back to back. While this book didn't give me all the answers I was hoping, which Ms. Schneider-Mark emphasizes, it really was fascinating to learn the basics behind keeping a dream diary and some of the religious and cultural significances of dream interpretation.
But this book really is just an introduction to the study of dreams. Each chapter and discussion is pretty short, making it a quick read. You might finish it wanting to learn more, which is great, but would most definitely require additional reading materials.
Overall, it was informative and interesting.
