Hunted by a corrupt and bloated government, a heroic Savage Wars general is forced to begin a new life as bounty hunter Tyrus Rechs. Now, guided strictly by his own warrior code, he stalks the scum who make their living through pain and evil out at galaxy's edge.
Yet even as he tracks his prey, Rechs must stay one step ahead of the shadowy kill teams and the reward-seeking assassins seeking to slay a legend. Each new contract he takes on could lead him to untold riches… or to the ambush meant to finally put him down.
Because they all want blood. They all want Rechs. They all want him gone, dead, forgotten.
But when Tyrus Rechs takes a job... he finishes it.
Experience this exciting new series from Dragon Award winning Authors Jason Anspach & Nick Cole. If you're a fan of The Mandalorian, Galaxy's Edge, or The Punisher, you'll love this science fiction thrill ride.
I’ve somehow managed to approach the Galaxy’s Edge universe from the outside in, reading this and the Order of the Centurion series without touching much of the actual core series. This isn’t an obstacle to enjoying the story of Tyrus Rechs, though, as Anspach and Cole seed the stories with enough context to make them largely stand on their own. The result was excellent for the mil SF genre, and has enough space opera overtones to appeal to a wider audience -- particularly when you factor in Rech’s mysterious origins.
Tautly written, sufficiently well-plotted to be interesting without needing a scorecard to follow, and full of characters who are fleshed out enough to be interesting without being overwhelming. While not path breaking, this was great recreational reading. I’ll be back for more.
Wow. Just wow. Tyrus Rechs is an amazing character - like the legendary centurion carrying the Spear of Destiny or Solomon Kane, if either were to become a bounty hunter. There is nothing about Rechs that is lighthearted, which means he is nothing like Han Solo. Despite the walls he puts up between him and other people, he cares deeply, passionately. I see Rechs' heart in the eyes of every vet I have had the privilege of meeting. I need more of Tyrus Rechs to properly appreciate those vets I do not have the opportunity to meet.
A really enjoyable set of stories centred on the character of Tyrus Rechs, Legionnaire and Bounty Hunter. Really like the characterisation as well as the story plots, and fast moving stories. A good read.
Hunting bad guy and delivering justice. Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action. I'm loving this universe and all I have left to read is the two books on the fall of earth
