I was trying to live like a fucking priest, but I was a sinner. There was no hiding from it. No evading it.”

I'm speechless right now.
Ruined.
Wrecked.
Completely overwhelmed with feels.

This book. THIS. BOOK. I don't even have the words for all that I feel right now.

I have never read this author. I also haven't read any of the other books in this series. But when I read the blurb to this book, I had zero chill. I had to read it and I took a chance to read it completely out of order without having read the rest of the series. And you know what?

I'm a sucker for a redemption story. I'm an even bigger sucker for a gritty MC. And I'm absolutely gone for a cheating redemption story. So long as it fits the story, of course. And this story? It was all of the things.
So you’re just being possessive?"
"No."
"What is it then?"
"I want what’s best for her. I just wish that were me.”

This story was a kick straight to the feels. Storm was emotional, gritty, unapologetic, and completely unforgettable.

Now let's address the elephant in the room. This series is not really read as standalones. But you can easily read this book and enjoy it without having read the others because there's perfect amount of background given.

Let's not address the other elephant in the room. Cheating. If that's not your thing, don't read this book. Seriously. But I happen to love the angst of a good cheating story. The book starts out with Storm and Keira already separated following the events of his f*ckups. The story is told in part present and flashbacks to the past. You're taken deep into the heart and soul of an incredibly broken and damaged man. You get to wade throw his pain, his regrets, and ultimately his redemption.

Now you're probably saying to yourself, cheating is never acceptable. Well, in the case of this book, I disagree. I love reading redemption stories and I love seeing the ugly side of love. And Storm's story is not a light one but man was it good. He's not a perfect man. He's not even a good man. But he's a man that would do anything for his family and would break himself apart for his estranged wife. Including tattooing "Property of Keira" and piercing his dick with a padlock that only Keira has a key to. Even though they're not together and he has no hope they ever will be.

They met when Keira was just 19 and the growth they both go through is painful and uplifting all in one. Storm is a man with vices. He's a recovering addict and so far from perfect, but man my heart just went out to him. Watching these two slowly find their way to each other again is one of the most painful and fulfilling experiences I've had from a book in a long while. I also loved the way the cheating is handled. Look I get that it's not everybody's cuppa, but if someone was going to write a cheating hero and redeem him, there is no better book than this one. And that extra epilogue? Wrecked me.

Keira and Storm's love story is not a pretty one. It's definitely not a smooth one. These are both incredibly broken and damaged characters. They're not perfect and they're not innocent. But watching the growth they both go through was incredible. And watching them find their way back to each other while facing all the odds against them was an experience unlike any I've had in a long while.

I could probably write an entire novel for my review with all the feels I have for this book, but I won't. What I'll tell you is this is a book that you simply need to take a chance on. It's unlike anything I've ever read. It's a slow burn. A painful and beautiful second chance romance that owned me from beginning to finish. The last time I had this many feels with a book, I was reading Undeniable. Serena just got herself a new stalker....erm...fan. Because I just grabbed the rest of this series on KU and see a binge on the horizon.

Why do people continue to try and fluff this and other cheating stories up? Saying oh give it a chance, or the classic, "you're missing out". Umm no, no I'm not, cheating books are not my cup of tea. I've been extremely out spoken against this couple and have made assumptions based on the info given in previous books. And what I can tell you, is that I WAS RIGHT. He is NOT redeemed in this book. Oh, boohoo he had a crappy kiddohood. Oh...now he's addicted to drugs. And apparently it was going to be the whole oh he's a sex addict angle from what Storm/Asher said in a tie in series guest appearance. But it's more no...he's just a drug addict, because sex addiction isn't even real/recognized. There was so much blow back to that crap "excuse" on FB that it must have been noted and actually googled. So get this...HE SAYS HE WAS SO HIGH THAT HE WAS ASSAULTED. Kid you not. The vibe is he was so high out of his logical mind that one of the club girls banged him, that's how the cheating started. LOL, like what?! If you're THAT HIGH and that much of a drug addict, he most likely CAN'T EVEN GET IT UP! Again, some research before can clearly let you know that men who, especially abuse coc, most likely end up suffering some form erectile dysfunction. And when they're extremely high, numerous drug options make this possible, they also drop function of their D. So either he's too high that he can't get it up and therefore he can't play the victim card OR he actually had knowledge of what he was doing even though he was high. SO to try and push that victim card for him....no. Sorry, I know it's "fantasy" but I can't suspend belief to buy into that excuse. AND IT'S NOT JUST ONE TIME. He goes on to sling that wang all over. But oh it's okay because you know, he "LOVES" Keira. So much so that he's the victim and when he's decided he would like to have her back, he then makes a whole I'm a victim blah blah song and dance. Not even a beggar. No redemption qualities. But you know because he tattoos his dingaling and pierces it with some far fetched lock, it shows he loves her. Like, I want to slap Keira. Also, what a fool. Keira looks like a complete moron. Everyone knows what he did. Just because some characters are wrote like it's no big deal, let's be honest...in real life we'd all be thinking she's a moron for taking him back. How does she not, every time he even LOOKS at her, much less touches her, think about him with someone else? It should make her immediately cry, or want to throw up, or bang her head, or stab him, or compare herself in every itty bitty tiny way to the others and so on and so on. She would NEVER get over what he did.

If you need a padlock on your dick to stay faithful to your wife, you need a divorce and a shrink. I might be able to stomach a redemption story, but a padlocked dick is not *redemption*, it’s *deflection*. Sir, the problem isn’t your junk, it’s that you’re a weak asshole. I would not want a man in my life who only stays faithful because he literally CAN NOT use his penis. Grow the f*ck up. 😒 #notforme

***Although Storm is the 8th book in the Dark & Dirty Sinners series, it can be read as a standalone***

Storm’s story is beautifully heart wrenching, filled with so much raw emotion, and has left my heart in tatters. I didn’t think it was possible for a book to be able to drag every emotion possible from me.
Storm, a beautifully broken man, that will leave you swooning, your heart breaking and feeling every emotion alongside him. There’s so much pain that you can’t help but root for him and Keira to get their Happily Ever After. The love and devotion he has for Keira, it’s the kind of love that everyone aspires to have, to be loved so deeply and intensely. It’s beautiful.
There will be people who think Keira is weak, but to me… SHE’S A SUPERHERO. To be there, to accept someone’s problems and hold their hand, being their person whilst they struggle is taxing in itself. She does that whilst trying to better herself and be the best mother she can be. Her character strength is something to aim for and to behold.
She is a superhero, but for me the biggest star is Storm. He may have made mistakes, but he’s constantly working to right wrongs as well as fight an addiction. The emotions and thoughts he deals with, is intense and so relatable for anyone who’s suffered from mental health issues. But for him to keep trying, regardless of all the obstacles he has had and does have… he’s inspires hope to continue to go on and that things will get better for you.
This book, has hit me everywhere, I may have not gone through the same problems, but I’ve got my own Keira and I’ll be forever grateful for that… Storm, his emotions they resonate with me. This story of redemption, it’s a book that will stick with you for life. This story will break you but in such a beautiful way, but it will mend your heart back together.
If you’re reading this, I really hope you give it a go. I didn’t know what to expect when I read Storm, but everything I could think of, didn’t come close to what I could imagine. It was the perfect story, for such flawed characters that becomes such a beautiful, power couple that finally finds their place together and in their world.
To people out there who don’t think they’ll get their own happy ending, give it a read, it gave me the hope I’d get mine.

Keep in mind to read the trigger warnings

DON'T TRUST THE FAKE ARC REVIEWS! This A says she does HEA....that's a lie. Just because you want to write that on the page, doesn't mean it's true or that you actually accomplished that. You know what this book accomplishes? It teaches women that it's okay to not have any self worth. Like seriously, let a man cheat on you constantly, even while you're PREGNANT, allow him to violently jerk your figurative backbone from your body, that way you can permanently bend over to allow him to screw you over figuratively, while he literally screws everything else in his path.
CHEATING, CHEATING AND MORE CHEATING!
The only reason this has a so called HEA, is because they end up together, because Kiera allows his behavior, doesn't love herself AT ALL, is a weak pathetic excuse of a woman and settles in because it's apparently easier to mistake love for another, than realizing you should love yourself.
So if you love reading about a man that doesn't love her and that wants to use excuses for his inexcusable behavior, this one's for you.
If you want to fantasize that perhaps secretly the cheating jerk you're with in real life might actually, perhaps have a shred of a tiny bit of love for you, or you are under the assumption you haven't been cheated on, so reading cheating is taboo, this one's for you.
Suspend your beliefs and drop into a fantasy land of letting him go D down the whole town and he'll still come back to Kiera with lame excuses and since she doesn't have a spine, she'll bend over and take it. Because who doesn't want to have their cake and eat it too?

Not a slight again Serena's writing at all but this is on my no way in hell list. Numerous reasons (heroine who's kept the cheater in her life, cheating, etc etc)- but what I absolutely hate hate hate about second chance is that its when "HE" decides to change....asking for a second chance is all based on when "HE" gets tired of running around. The implication is that its all based on his feelings and not on the feeling of victim in this situation. He doesn't suddenly realize what he's lost or that what he did was wrong...he's just tired and wants to settle down now that he's had his fun.

However, I will give props to Serena for cutting out the fact that the h will have to continually see all the women the H cheated on her with while they're reconciling as they are moved to a different MC chapter.

I thought based on the previous books this would be a joke...and in this one there would be like oh no it didn't actually happen....but it DOES girls! he actually CHEATS! It's not a joke he really does cheat on her so much it was so sad! I didn't think this writer wrote cheating since the other books are safe but she does. so much money on this series for it to end up crossing the line for so many. I won't support this series or writer anymore since they want to treat women like crap and everyone in the violent but safe group will know that this is no longer a safe series or writer.

I don’t do cheating books they are usually my complete hard limit but I wanted to read this one as I’ve adored this whole series so far and surprisingly I was actually looking forward to delving into all the whys and whatnots of Keira’s and Storms turbulent relationship.

This dealt with some deep subjects namely addiction in all its forms time-wise it’s set after Kiera moves with daughter Cyan to be nearer to Storm as he takes over the running as Prez of a Sinner's chapter down in Ohio. After the events that affected their daughter previously Kiera knows she needs to put aside her own trepidation’s and allow Storm to assist her in supporting Cyan.

Storm knows he’s blown the only good thing in his life through his own stupidity and inability to allow Kiera to know the good and the bad of him. Also through keeping his life separate family in one box and MC in another and hiding who he truly is he has now lost everything that mattered to him. Ohio is a new start and he is prepared to do anything even watch from the sidelines if it means he gets to share even a sliver of Kiera and Cyans lives.

His self worth and opinion regarding himself is so low and because of this he had placed his wife on a pedestal she never asked for. He sees himself as everything filthy because of his background and Kiera as this pure Angel he will tarnish with his filth. It takes potentially losing it all and hitting rock bottom to finally open himself up and realise that her happiness even if it means it’s elsewhere is all that matters.

This was all about building bridges forgiving past mistakes and forging new pathways forward. Being accountable to each other is emphasised and for me, Storm did manage to do enough to redeem himself. This was unusual for a cheating redemption story and everything here is definitely not straightforward there is definitely a lot of shades of grey involved. I think I was able to get behind this mostly because the cheating was past and not present and the way this unfolded with a series of flashbacks to the past with some diary and letter entries trickle fed the information slowly. There were also unique circumstances that though not blameless made it much more understandable. Plus Kiera wasn’t blameless either she should have been more reactive pushed for the answers instead she buried her head slightly and just accepted what she was told not that I’m excusing Storms behaviour here far from it. I was also intrigued by the extremes Storm went to in regards to staying and proving he was being faithful. You can’t really blame Kiera for doubting his intentions and Storm definitely needed to prove himself before he was potentially given a second chance with his wife.

This also had a series of epilogues which I loved but the last one set way way into the future man that was brutal and definitely moved me to tears that’s for sure I was totally gutted but it did feel strangely fitting and Storm's last grand gesture did prove his ultimate devotion.

So yeh this was fabulous and I’m amazed I’m actually giving a cheating book the full marks I’m not about to discover a new genre to love by any means but this one as an anomaly did hit the spot with me it gave me all the feels and more and I ended up enjoying it a lot surprisingly.

Never before have I sat and basked in the afterglow of a book like I am after reading Storm, (Dark and Dirty Sinners' MC, #8). It's a thoughtful and emotional book. Storm's story is complicated, moving and highly poignant. Grab your chocolate, your wine and your favourite teddy, because Asher, Keira and Cyan are going to take you on a journey that will make your heart shrivel up, break, and then reconstruct it in the most inspiring and uplifting way.

Anyone who has followed the Dark and Dirty Sinners know Storm... they know what he's done, they know of his betrayal, they also know that the consequences of this have caused huge issues within his family. He and his wife are estranged and his daughter, feeling lost and tumultuous, has been looking for love and acceptance in ugly and dangerous places.

Storm, having taken on the role of Prez in the Ohio chapter of the Sinners, moves Keira and Cyan to a new home there, and is hoping the change is a fresh start for them all. We see him, Keira and Cyan trying to navigate their new lives, which is challenging to say the least.
Storm's new brothers aren't as receptive as they could be, Cyan is struggling with school and her mental health. Keira, God bless her, is still feeling the sting and frustration of Storm's betrayal, whilst also trying to overhaul her life, set a strong and empowering example to Cyan, and hold everything together for everyone else.

Their history, both together and apart, is told in flashbacks which they reconcile with their present day lives. Both have had to deal with things that frankly nobody should Their pasts have shaped them and influenced their present behaviour to the point that everything they hold dear is imploding. They are both stunned when they realise that they are caught up in a destructive cycle which they have to break to prevent Cyan following the same dark path... This is what their story focuses on.

Throughout the series so far the author has written Storm to be a contentious character, which I and many others wholeheartedly bought into. I was furious at Storm on behalf of Keira and Cyan. With this book the author delves deeper into the circumstances surrounding Storms betrayal. She shows that nothing is black and white and grey areas exist! She throws up social issues surrounding child neglect, addiction and really made me consider how sexual assault is regarded so differently depending on gender.

However... things aren't all doom and gloom! I cried more at the happy moments than I did the sad ones because they were so hard fought for. We see two weakened, flawed people hit rock bottom in their own ways, then we see them turn it around and its so inspiring. Storm handled Cyan beautifully, Keira consciously toughened up... the scene in the diner *wink wink* was so satisfying and made me laugh out loud! Poor North, dealing with the rug and Fraction the dog had me belly laughing! This book also gives us moments that we have been waiting for the entire series, my heart is sated at the demise of a particular character! Its been a long time coming but worth the wait.

Serena Akeroyd has exceeded every one of my expectations with this book! Honestly, at one point I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it because it's subject matters are upsetting to me, but thank God I gave my head a shake!
The writing and phrasing, language and quotes are simply beautiful. She has turned it up a notch and a half with this book, I expected it to be good because she always delivers, but just Wow!!!
I have said it before and I will again, this author makes you think about what you're reading, she writes intelligently and thoughtfully. Her writing is so polished she spoils you for other authors, its going to take me a while to pick up another book after reading this one because she invokes such vivid emotions the book hangover is real.

This is without doubt one of the best books I have read so far this year! I hope you give it and Storm a chance, I promise you won't be sorry!

As I sit here trying to put into words how much I loved this book, I find that the tempest I have experienced in reading this story has left me raw and overwhelmed and all in my feelings. Bear with me as I cobble together my thoughts and emotions about the journey that is Storm.

THE BACKSTORY

I think I need to mention that Storm is the 8th book of the Dark and Dirty Sinners MC series by Serena Akeroyd. While the rest of the series really needs to be read in order to be enjoyed, Storm’s book is outside the main story arc and can, thus, be read as a standalone or skipped altogether, if the trigger warning at the beginning has made you think twice. (I really hope you don’t skip this book.) I mention this because Storm’s story has been a long time in the making and I have loved this character since the start of this series.

You see, we’ve gotten little glimpses of Storm throughout the rest of the books, little facets of his personality, of the man he was (and is and could be). Storm the VP. Storm the party boy. Storm the lover. Storm the cheater. Storm the husband. Storm the possessive ex. Storm the father. Storm the son. Storm the Sinner, the brother, the friend. And while Storm is one of the most flawed characters I’ve ever met, his heart shown through in so many ways. Despite his mistakes, especially those with his wife and marriage, we were able to see that he was kind, funny, intelligent, a fierce friend, a caring lover, a loving father, a dedicated Sinner.

So when we get to this book, we not only see the man we got to know throughout the series, we also get an in-depth look at his past, his present, his heart, his family, his life - almost in its entirety - essentially, we get him, Storm. All the dings and scratches, as well as all the bells and whistles.

THE REVIEW

So, in this book we join Storm, the Prez of the Coshocton (Ohio) chapter of the Satan’s Sinners, in the middle of establishing a new life. With his daughter and estranged wife in tow, Storm is navigating the waters of a new home, a new clubhouse, new brothers, a new everything. It’s his chance to take a struggling chapter and grow it into a successful, profitable one. To make his mark for the Sinners. Along the way, he is challenged for some of the choices he makes. And he is forced to defend those decisions.

But “work” is not the only place where Storm is maneuvering through uncharted waters. Home poses just as many uncertainties, demands, and possibilities. His relationship with Keira has been broken, both hearts and vows. His relationship with Cyan is also changing, but she’s still his little girl. Working to make both of these relationships better and stronger is such an amazing adventure to be part of. Through speed bumps, potholes, and detours, Storm tries to find his way home, to Keira.

You’ll get everything in this book. Romance, action, danger, complete and utter emotional devastation. You will also get second chances, personal growth, accountability, vengeance, redemption and love.

Storm’s story will challenge you. It will make you cry. It will make you laugh. It will make you swoon. It will make you angry. It will make you cheer. And in the end, it will make you love…love Storm and Keira for the people they were, are, and will become. It will make you believe in love and the power of second chances. It will make you wish for a love as strong and resilient and as meant-to-be as Storm and Keira’s.

THE CONCLUSION

There are those for whom Storm and his story are very controversial. But I hope that you will give him a chance. That you will give yourself a chance to experience something truly exceptional. I challenge you to dive into Storm with an open mind and an open heart. But don’t ignore those trigger warnings.

Earlier, I called Storm a journey and it truly is that. An emotional, heart-wrenching, not-to-be-missed, spectacular ride!

I picked up Storm specifically for the cheating and the hero trying to make amends. My first book from Akeroyd and it was a good one. Can easily be read as a stand-alone. Storm definitely screwed up. Cheating and lying to his wife Keira. His way back to her and becoming a family again took its time. I appreciated the focus on his recovery and also the time it took for both he and Keira to let go , open up and trust again. The love between them was still palpable. The looks, the little touches here and there. So good. And when Keira finally was ready. Bam! Explosive.

Sadly I struggled as well. I felt the story was too long especially when some of the conversations between certain characters were repetitive and it happened numerous times. I don’t mind when a story has past and present chapters but here I felt it affected the pace of the story.

The epilogues were great and how it ended Storm and Keira’s story was just in their spirit and I couldn’t imagine any other way. Overall a terrific MC romance and I’m interested in the other Sinner characters so I’ll be checking them out.

Storm is hands down my favorite read of the year, and in the Dark and Dirty Sinners MC series. This book is chef kiss perfect!

This book was like the super-duper looper at Hershey Park, every twist and turn you thought you were coming out of, the rollercoaster of emotions puts you into another one. Damn, Serena you are a Queen at storylines and in-depth characters, that give such raw and powerful dialog the story feels real (I want Storm to be real). The Dark and Dirty Sinners MC series has led me to craving Strom’s story since I read Nyx (book 1). This book answers every question you could have ever had about Storm, and a few about the guys. I will admit, I was not a fan of Keira before this book, something in the series had me seeing Storm as broken and her as non-supportive. This book brought clarity to all of that and I love their love story!!! I personally don’t know if I’ve read another book that gave me so much understanding of the entire series in book 8, but I don’t think it could have been done before now. The things you see happen with Storm and Keira throughout the series had to play out for this beautiful story to come together. It is truly a master mind book, and I feel as if I need to re-read everything again just to wrap my head around the depth of this book to the series.

Not only do I 100% recommend this book, but please read the series in order you will get so much more from this book. My emotions are raw from this beautiful book...but in the best way possible. *Be Mindful of Trigger Warnings* (if you have a question about that please message me) Pre-Order Now, Release July 29th

Not safe: perceived cheating
- she was a virgin when they met but he was not celibate after meeting her. He wanted her so much he fucked a cw 🤮
- during their marriage he was taken advantage of while under the influence os drugs (he is an addicted) around 5 times
- during the separation she has bad sex once and mediocre sex one other time
- during the first few months of the separation he is a completely and utter whore, to the point of being surprised he doesnt have blisters. He is a sex addicted. What is odd is that he could control himself enough to wait until his std test was clean to fuck around, but apparently he only fucked around when he was high. However he was a sex and a drug addicted, so how could he controm drug addiction that led to sex enough to wait months for his results?

I was liking it. He didnt cheat, he was abused and the women toom advantage of him.
However he became a big manwhore after the separation, he was a sex addicted and was with manu clubwhores.
The heroine on the other hand was only with two man, one the sex was not good and the other was also lacking. Why authors have this need to make the heroine experiences with other people always so bad? Why it have to be said the sex with the other guy was bad? Please explain to me because I am tired of this.
Why cant women have fun? Why the sex needs to me a miserable experience with her comparing the om to the hero? We get a descriptive scene only to see how depressive the act is.

Also, Rex was totally out of line. What Storm did during the separation did matter, she is only dating now after months of his whoring around. It was not Keira's job to fix Storm and demand him to speak. He is not only a grown up, but he was already in his mid twenties when she was 18. Yet Rex act like she was a bitch. I loved him but he thinking he has the right to talk to her like this pissed me off and I didnt love him anymore. He is still better as a hero than all the others but he was rude, unfair and blamed the victim.

Even storm believed what he did was cheating and the second he got the all clear he started his manwhore ways? How he was sober enough to not fuck the cw before his test was negative? As soon as his results came back he become a whore? So he could control his impulses enough to wait for the test?

Also, after meeting her and supposedly wanting her he fucked a clube whore and wrote about it in a "love letter", nasty.

Ps: I hate Bear.
I also felt a strong message that it takes two to break a marriage. I disagree, when a man cheats he does it alone and many things go wrong in a marriage because of the erros of only one of the partners. There are thousand of cake eaters out there, sharing the responsibility when the reason for the break is infedility is victims blaming.
Bear cheated, got his mistress a apartment and only came back when his wife was already better. He left his wife at her worse, during depression, he cheated and then he showed up when she was healthy again. He is a disgusting human being, her depression doesn't excuse it. She has no guilty in his cheating.
The same for keira, she is not responsible for the secrets Storm kept, she could have done things differently, but lets be frankly, if she was more accertive since the beggining she wouldnt even be with storm. She wouldnt take a man who fuck others because he thinks he is not worthy of her yet, because this prove he is in fact not worthy.
I couldnt be more happier than when he died, it make me smile

Storm is the Ultimate Man
This book is full of emotions and rollercoaster feelings (heart break, anger, hatred, sadness, love and longing and also some action). By the end of this book you will be cheering Storm and Kiera on and supporting them. You will want the type of LOVE Storm has for Kiera. As many of you know this is a book about a man who cheated and knowing this may be a Trigger for some, I still encourage you to read this book.
I am in AWE of Serena and how she can write such amazing books. She put so much effort and research into this book about addiction that you know it is all true and not made-up nonsense fiction. His addiction and road to recovery are to a T of what people experience in real life and go through.
I have never met a man like Storm that OWNED up to his massive mistakes and his ADDICTION issues and I have personal experience with men and these addictions. That being said, Serena wrote STORM beautifully, showing a man who grovels but owns it. She explained every detail you would need to know the ins and outs of his cheating and addiction, the past and the present and the future but not only that she showed us everything that Kiera went through as far as her emotions and how to come out of it and deal with it, never making it easy on him. I personally love when authors go into the future to see how they move on and grow old together and you get that sneak peak in this book. You also see the love of this MC family coming together and supporting each other.

Cheating! No excuses EVER WHEN YOU ARE MARRIED WITH KIDS!
He claims he is some high he was taken advantage of!? Really!? It’s almost impossible that kind of substance abuse would leave you limp.

So what about the rest of your continued cheating? Drugs? Sex addict…. Go get help and get off the drugs and screw your wife….ya know the one you made VOWS to.

There is never an excuse to take a man like this back…. Doormat. No redemption not we ought grovel in this world but divorce papers.

I officially will never read this authors work ever again.

5+Stars

After reading the author’s warning at the beginning of the book, I am glad that I heeded her caution and waited to start Storm until the weekend. This beautifully poignant second chance MC gutted me and left me emotionally overwhelm in the best possible way. In my opinion, this book is the best out of all of the books within the Dark and Dirty Sinners’ MC series.

If you have read the series in order, you would know that Storm was estranged from her wife Kiera due to his infidelity. We didn’t get much details from the previous books, just some bits and pieces of their broken relationship. According to the brothers, one thing for certain was that Storm’s love and devolution to Keira was intense and incomparable.

After the revelation of what really happened in the past through the multiple flashbacks, I was heartbroken for Storm. His silence, misguided perception and all the rumors had painted him as the villain, but he was just misjudged. I didn’t say that he didn’t have any fault in breaking his marriage but he was not the only to blame. As mentioned in the book, it took two to make a marriage and two to break it. In the past, Kiera was too protected in the bubble that Storm had created and she had no desire to stand up for herself, question the rumors and fight for her marriage.

It was a raw and heartfelt experience to witness Storm’s redemptions and Kiera’s reawakening. There were lots of teary moments and swoony moments. I loved that the book had brought us beyond the present. I cried so hard after the most bittersweet and fitting epilogue. Their love and connection were scared and unbeatable. There is no Storm without his Keira. I am certain that the last scene would forever stay with me and would make my eyes water every single time I thought of it.

This book was designed so that it could be skipped within the series’ reading order because of the multiple triggers. Therefore, the series arc of the NWS was not incorporated in this book. However, the MC lifestyle and dangerous actions were still abundant and all-consuming. I actually loved that the story was concentrated around the rebuilding of the Ohio chapter. We also got glimpses of the brothers from the West Orange chapter which were an integral part of Storm and Kiera’s story. Due to the extensive time span of Kiera and Storm’s story, there might be some spoilers of what was to come for the future books. However, I would still love to see how that happened.

Overall, I totally enjoyed this beautifully heart-wrenching second chance MC romance. If you are still deciding if you want to read this, I would urge you to keep an open-mind to give Storm his chance to tell his story. This book is everything, it made me feel, gave me hope, and reconfirmed my believe that there really are soul mates out there who share a love that was so deep and intense that they cannot live without one another.

I volunteered to provide an honest review of an advance complimentary copy of this book.

I don’t even have words to describe how much I loved Storm and Keira’s story. This was beautiful. And real. And I loved every second of it. It made me hurt. It made me love. It made me cry. It broke me to pieces and it put me back together again. I’m obsessed with Storm. I don’t care what he did in previous books. The depth of Storm runs so deep we can’t even comprehend. I know there will be people who read his book with a closed mind and can’t see the beauty of his growth. But I saw it. I saw the dark that he lived and the light that he craved and the way they mixed to create a beautiful life. Marriage isn’t always easy. And it’s never perfect. It takes work. A lot of effort. It takes people who are willing to fight for each other and overcome the obstacles thrown in their path. Storm and Keira were proof that it’s 100% possible to struggle exponentially in their marriage and make a complete about face and thrive. My heart was not ready for that ending though. It gutted me and healed me all at the same time. I can’t even describe the level of devotion these two had for each other. The unconditional love. The adoration.
I just-
I can’t-
I’m not ok but I am. I wanna read this story again but I need a minute. Lol.
Serena wrote this book because we NEEDED to read this story. I know there will be people who don’t love it. I know there will be people who can’t look past Storm’s wrongdoings. That’s ok. It’s unfortunate but I get it. But if you could try to be open minded, I think you’ll be able to see how truly great this story is. Storm and Keira are my absolute favorite. It will take a story of epic proportions to change that. I really really hope this series doesn’t end for a long time. Cause I’m not ready to be done with this MC. 10/10 Recommend this book. 10/10 Recommend this series!!

I’m not into pathetic cheating stories, where the guy doesn’t really own up to what he did. At the same time the author portrays him as a victim and Someone who is the bigger person, with a saint like complex where’s he’s proud of his “ woman” for kicking him out the night she found out he cheated.? Jesussss get tf over yourself you fucking loser.

I like grovel not weak men. I also like it when the heroine finds her worth… like I give a fuck if storm “ finds himself”

Also they’re kid was written so weird like wtf.?

“ omg daddy I’m gonna be a biker princess. I hate mommy. Omg daddy I’m your baby right?” Was she 5 or almost 13 idk.

Also the fact that she blamed her mom and not her father and I really thought she’d come to some sort of conclusion in the book that it wasn’t her mother’s fault at all and show “ some kind of anger” towards her father but I guess not.

I gave up @ 65%, maybe it was a me thing, I found him very annoying. And, sorry, I don’t think piercing your d!ck and putting a lock through it and giving your wife the key proves anything except you’re crazy.

All the flippin stars!!!!!!!

I am broken, but in the most beautiful way. Storm has been one of the characters that I have been, not so patiently, waiting for. His and Keira's story has been stewing in my mind since they were first introduced. Since I have first hand experience with a cheating husband, I have been dying to see how she handles it. Keira is my queen. And Storm is my king. This story will wreck you. It will make you cry. It will make you bleed. It will make you believe in love again. Keira and Storm will now forever be the couple that I measure against. I will say " but does he love her like Storm loves Keira?" These two are #couplegoals. The drama is on point. The action is intense and suspenseful. The romance is definitely MC style. I loved every minute of this story. If I can only recommend one book this year, this is it.

***Although Storm is the 8th book in the Dark & Dirty Sinners series, it can be read as a standalone***

Storm’s story is one that many have been waiting for since the first entry of the Sinners MC series came to be. Let me tell you it has been well worth the wait! From the very first page Storm and Kiera’s story will grab ahold of your heartstrings and refuse to let go. Until this point everything we know about Storm is through the eyes of another character. Now we get to see what really makes the man and what drives his relationships, especially his relationship with Keira (who we also finally get a real in-depth look at). This amazing work by Serena Akeroyd looks at how mental health, addiction and an overall difference in upbringing can affect our relationships and lives as we get older. I think every reader will be able to identify with these characters at some point and that makes this story all the more powerful. This one is definitely worth the read! Please do listen to the TW though and have the tissues at the ready!

I don't know that I have the words to be able to express my feelings about this book. There is no Storm without Keira and Keira isn't Keira without Storm. These two are the perfect soul mates. Storm believes he is toxic for her, but in truth he is exactly what she needs. There are so many emotions in this book from betrayal to pain, but at the heart is love. These two love each other, despite everything, and that is what I love about this book. Seeing them find each other is perfection and Serena Akeroyd outdid herself with this book. Heed the trigger warnings, particularly with the epilogue. I am not in a place to be able to read the epilogue yet, but at some point I am sure that I will. I am desperate to find out who Cyan ended up with, and I hope it is who I think it is. I cannot wait to see what comes next in this amazing series.

Disappointing.

This book is about Storm justifying his behaviour, and Keira accepting it all for the sake of a HEA that doesn't seem believable.

It's really freakin' hard to think, type and cry at the same time. I'm have a crisis at the moment... part of me is filled with joy at the thought of Storm and Keira getting to do it their way and part of me is just broken. Storm is MY FAVORITE in this series. Serena Akeroyd has outdone herself with this phenomenal novel.

I never hated on Storm like so many readers did because I saw the brokenness within his soul, almost from the beginning. This book revealed all the puzzle pieces and it made me love him so much more. I was cheering for Keira and my favorite moment of this book was when she took responsibility for the role she played in the failure of her marriage. I'm a realist and with this comes the real knowledge that marriages are hard, self worth must be found within and addictions make good people do horrible things. This is not an excuse for bad behavior, just facts. Storm was an addict who suffered from abuse and neglect. When he was having an emotional crisis, he turned to the one thing that numbed his pain.....drugs. Keira was a naive, young, innocent girl who had her own family issues and needed to grow up. They hurt each other along the way.

Redemption, the act of redeeming, is long and often difficult. Storm redeemed himself in spades and Keira saw the sincerity in his soul. I have often told my son that when you do something horrible to someone and feel true remorse that all you have to offer is a heartfelt apology combined with a change in behavior. Whether the person excepts your apology is out of your control, so think before you speak or act.

This book and entire series is fabulous. These books are technically stand-alones if you consider a stand-alone as one couple, but you will miss the wide story arc, the world building and a boatload of details if you don't read them in order. Bravo on a GOLD STANDARD read. I highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

May-2025 I went ahead and reread this (after reading the previous books) because the first time around I felt like I was missing huge hunks of the story. And they helped fill in certain things like North’s background when he returns and Cyan's grooming/attempted kidnapping backstory. But Keira wasn't around much in the previous books, and really Storm wasn't around a ton either. What whoring around that was spoken about happened after they broke up, so we still have no additional details on their relationship. Kendra the OW was only mentioned a couple of times in the previous books, and never with Storm, so we get nothing there either.

If anything, it's an even bigger plot hole that Keira thought him and Kendra had this ongoing relationship or never thought to ask anyone because they weren't ever together. It just wasn't laid out very well. IMHO

Regardless, I didn’t hate Storm like others; they get their HEA. It might not be what some consider their idea of a HEA, but Keira was happy. 🤷‍♀️ I just want to be done with the series, so if she's happy... I'll be happy for her. It did make me curious about Raine, I’m assuming he didn’t end up with Cyan by the epilogue. I saw on a Goodreads author QA there was going to be a second-generation spinoff, but it looks like it never happened.

This one is tough to rate. It wasn’t bad, it just doesn’t work as a standalone (IMHO) and I STRUGGLED not to DNF it many times. But I did finish it, so I sort of want credit- 🤣🤣

The book has one MAJOR problem and that is that it skips over the majority of the couple's history. We have tidbits provided through multiple flashbacks, but the blood and guts parts of the cheating/drug abuse aren’t really explored.

So, it’s not really angsty or too emotional because Storm is already clean and dedicated to saving his marriage… he even has so there aren’t any OW shenanigans going on either.

I also couldn’t fact check any of his explanations or denials because we aren’t given the facts, and I don’t know what happened in the other books. We do know that there were some wrong assumptions made, and that the wannabe OW was a liar liar with her pants on fire… but I’m assuming (maybe incorrectly) that many people assumed they (H & OW) were a couple in the previous books, and I’m not sure how that wrong assumption was made based on the facts that were provided in this book.

So, most of this book follows the fallout after the revelations that her husband cheated on her and was a drug addict/alcoholic while dealing with their daughter’s trauma from an abusive situation that I’m assuming happened in a previous book.

I thought the author did a great job of showing that they both had issues and contributed to the fallout of the marriage… mostly by not communicating… but I also felt like maybe she did too good of a job because the more I read, the less I thought they were compatible. They just didn’t seem to fit… he put her on a protection pedestal rather than sharing his troubles, and it felt like she gave zero effort to be a part of his life. It’s her prerogative if she didn’t want anything to do with the mc, but you shouldn’t marry one if that’s the case. They actually reminded me of a couple I knew IRL, he was in the military, and she hated being alone, so she guilted him and complained every time he went on leave. Both were great people; they just weren’t great together… that’s sort of how Keira and Storm made me feel.

They’re some writing issues, some inconsistencies like she is twirling in a skirt, then he’s pulling down her jeans. And many times, characters/situations are thrown in without proper development. There’re multiple flashbacks, changes in POV, and random letters thrown in that sometimes felt incongruent.

Bottom Line- OK, but I don’t think this should be read as a standalone or you’ll feel lost/get bored. There’re also several times I felt like I was just dropped into a subplot without the needed introduction (like the molester stuff) to feel caught up. Not to mention the numerous secondary characters that were thrown at us. Basically, it felt like I was dropped into the plot mid-book and constantly struggled to stay invested and keep up. The last chapter FFW 14 years then there's an optional epilogue that goes out 40 years after that.

Safety-

This was such an emotional book that I might have used a whole box of tissue. I met Storm in the previous books and always felt fond of him. I knew that if his book was written it was going to tear me into pieces and it did. But just like I hoped, storm tore me apart but he also put the pieces back together.

His upbringing was such an emotional rollercoaster. The way his mother and sister treated him was beyond sad. I never understood why they hated him so much. They deserved everything they got.

Storm and Keira story will make you laugh, cry (like ugly cry), love, angry. You will feel all the emotions each character went through.

Serena wrote such a beautifully broken story that I will need a moment or two just to get by. I thought Mavericks story broke my heart into piece, but Storms story shredded it.

Please be warned that this has lots of triggers. The ending had me choking up but as someone that has been with the love of her life for over 20 years, I see how it would end that way.

Great Story Serena......

I don’t know were to start as I sit here after finishing storm I am heart broken and I have never cried so much. But there were some laughs along the way as well. The story blew me away the love between Storm and Kiera is of epic proportions they are each other sole mate and in this story we witness the struggles that they went through and the emotional rollercoaster off feelings they have for each other even though they have both been hurt along the way by each other and storm with hiding his addiction but through all that he is always there for Kiera and cyan they are his everything. I can honestly say I have fallen in love with storm and thank you Serena Akeroyd from writing storm it was amazing read even if it broke my heart at the end and I recommend this book as a must read book as you said Serena Akeroyd there is no Storm with out Kiera just thinking about the story make me get all tearful again absolutely loved storm

Storm’s book hits you like a category 5 hurricane causing maximum destruction to my emotions, but the fixing… it’s truly beautiful. Since I first read Nyx, Storm has had me intrigued from the get go and I’m beyond happy that he’s rightly getting his story out there.
Storm lives up to his name, knocking down the walls to your heart with his whirlwind of emotions, leaving you completely in love with the man.
I've always loved the father /daughter relationship between Storm and Cyan and this book makes me go all swoony over Daddy Storm.
Both Keira and Storm have many demons to fight in this book, whether it's their own individual battles or battles they face together as a couple.
I’ve felt as though I'd been slapped, kicked and punched in the gut for some of this book. So much so, I’ve had to take many breaks but wow was it worth it.
I'm just going to say this one last thing , In my opinion everyone needs a certain Storm in their life

“Sometimes angels can be demons too”

Not going to lie, this book made me cry... a few times. That’s the tell of a great romance though isn’t it? It makes you FEEL. Storm was broken from the very beginning and knew it. Keira was too, but it took her some time to realize it. Storm messed up big time. But Keira was able to grow into the woman she needed to be when she threw him to the curb.

Thankfully, they still found a way to love each other after all the bad and ugly things life threw their way.

I will say, mind your triggers. There are some big ones in here but if you can hang with it, trust in Serena. This book was amazing, and I’m so glad I read it.

I wish I could give this book more then five stars cause hands down it was one of the best I've read this year.

It has trigger so keep in mind to read what they are before you start reading this book. It can be read as a standalone or as book eight in the series about the Dark and Dirty Sinners MC.

Storm isn't perfect cause he is broken and he made mistakes and now he is paying for them. But there is also more to this man and in this book we will learn that sometimes things aren't as they seem and everyone deserves a chance.

A huge trigger warming, stock up on tissues cause you will need them. This book is filled with emotions and it will break your heart. But damns, it is good.
