Godot from Zero to proficiency (foundations) was OK. I did learn that the asset library had a first person player, a terrain editor, water, a car that I could use in my games.
It does as the author says let you make a game with no programming. I did make the maze game. While the terrain editor, and water would not work on the computer I am using I was able to import the car for the outdoor terrain.
While he does show how to make a indoor scene and an outdoor scene they are not finished games. There are no enemies. So all you do is walk around in the maze or drive around on the island.
I would rather have read a book that helped me make a finished game with enemies, and things to collect, and a end to the levels. It is a book in a series of book that help you complete a game but, I would rather have all the books in one book.
So I learned a little but, not very much about godot reading this book. I certainly would not know how to make a complete game after reading it. I found it to be a disappointment.
