Trapped on her own during lockdown, Maya begins to fall for her boss and director of the company, Max Harrison. Tall, broad and strong with strikingly blue eyes; all her Omega senses tell her he must be an Alpha. Their meetings may be virtual but they are the most real thing in Maya’s life right now and she suspects he may feel the same way too.

But when her heat strikes, the stakes between them rise and their reckless and passionate actions endanger both their professional careers and their hearts.

Can Maya and Max find a way through lockdown and their crippling doubts to be with each other?

A soft and steamy non-shifter omegaverse romance with a happy ending.

This is a stand alone novella from Hannah Haze’s Heat series -- soft m/f omegaverse stories set in our world.

I'm Hannah Haze, a why choose paranormal romance author known for my sweet omegaverse books and not so sweet magical academy series. If you enjoy a touch of humour, a lot of steam and plenty of swoony, romantic moments; strong fmcs who know what they want and mmcs who vary from the devoted to obsessive, then I am the woman for you!

My other loves include long romantic walks in the countryside, undisturbed soaks in a hot bath and even hotter stories. I have one husband, three children, a very naughty cat and a new fluffy pupster. When I’m not writing stories, I’m thinking about stories, listening to stories, reading stories or dreaming about them.

This is a new author for me. I enjoyed her cute little omegaverse. I like that it's contemporary, though this one happens during pandemic lock-downs so that makes it hard for Omegas to deal with their heats when Alphas can't get to them.

What happens when an omega goes into heat in the middle of the pandemic and lockdowns? Lots of phone sex.

There isn’t much to this story (it’s more of a novelette), but I realised after reading that the theme of this series must be “what happens when an omega goes into heat at an inopportune time?” so I have rated accordingly.

There was really no plot with this book. Not even really a superficial one. My thinking is it was at the beginning of the pandemic, so that was enough of a plot. I’m reading it three years post pandemic so that might be why I didn’t feel it was up to her normal story.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5

Cute, short Omegaverse novella set during the 2020 pandemic. Wish it was maybe a little longer for more smut scenes.

This was a fun and spicy novella. It had several omegaverse elements in it. I liked that the pacing was pretty quick and that they had known each other for several months before the end. We get to see several of their conversations and them learning about each other before anything spicy happens. I wish it had a bit of an epilogue but it was still a fun story.

This is a short omegaverse novella on Kindle Unlimited that takes place during the time of the pandemic and social distancing.

Maya is an omega and she goes through her heat in the middle of the pandemic without an alpha to help her. She ends up meeting our hero via Zoom because she is her boss who also just so happens to be an alpha. He helps her through her heat and they form a relationship.

This one was really quick and cute. I feel like for people who are not used to the omegaverse world and the social structure of alphas and omegas then this is a really good one to start. I’ve read some other Hannah Haze books and this one has been my favorite thus far.

This meeting could quite possibly be torture: early stages of heat, hot guy and no method of relief – apart from that vastly inadequate plastic dick in her drawer.

I really enjoyed this. I always like an omega trope and even more fun that it was more a "sweet" omega verse type, a lot of times omega stories can get super dark. I thought the lock down aspect of the story and the zoom romance basically was so sweet and perfect for the pandemic.

And I know it's a short book on purpose, but literally the only thing I could "complain" about is I wanted more!

I didn't know the author. I usually read more RH books. But I'm not new to omegaverse, and, thereto, too, in a contemporary setting and without shifter. Furthermore, I prefer a "sweeter" omegaverse like this one. It was really good and I enjoyed it.

And it fits with a pandemic lockdown with today's view of the world. I rooted for both. I could feel the struggle of the characters and how much they want each other.

It was a short little novella, but I think I will read other books in the future of the same author.

Standalone novella
Omegaverse in the middle of lockdown
*over 18 readers only*

Max and Maya are meeting virtually for work during the 2020 lockdown. There's attraction, but they live in different parts of England. Things heat between them when she let's it slip she is approaching her heat. Up to that point they had not discussed him being an Alpha or her an Omega, but there was no denying it. In the midst of her heat, she calls him, desperate for help. But this breaks all kinds of rules. He is her boss. How will this affect them once her heat is over...

Lovely sweet little story, set at the peak of the pandemic. You know, the scary pre-vaccine days, when there were curfews and lockdowns everywhere. When the world literally came to a standstill.
This is an Omegaverse story set against that backdrop, with online love, and online heats.
And finally ends with an in-person romance. Very short and very sweet. Giving this one 4 stars.

Quick easy read

Quick, easy light hearted read with Alpha/Omega characters. Well written and the authors humour is easily relatable. Going to see if I can find other works by this author.

So good but short!

Really cute 2020 pandemic romance. I really liked the characters and the story, and as always for Haze, the steamy scenes were excellent.

I wanted this to be longer. I wasn’t paying attention and then I looked down to find I was already at 85%.

It was a cute omegaverse/lockdown novella
I liked their connection and it was very sweet though I wish we could have had their declaration on page and their first scene more detailed. And there was no mention of knotting, which I love in omegaverse

This was a quick and entertaining read. I love the omegaverse, especially the sweeter books and this just scratched the itch for a sweet and steamy read.

I get that it's short... but what was the point?

----------- light spoilers ----------------

The miscommunication/hurt/cold feet whatever was never addressed and we didn't even get to see them confess feelings to one another?? Big nah from me.

This was a fun, cute, super quick read. It was interesting and definitely relatable with the pandemic/lockdown setting and the Zoom meeting scenes😆. I’ve been in an omegaverse novella mood lately, and overall, I enjoyed this one.

This! This is new and fresh. Loved it.

This book puts omega-verse in the Covid-19 pandemic, and let me say, that threw me for a loop. Often omega verse happens in a current moment, but with nothing truly connecting it to reality. This one on the other hand puts the pandemic at the forefront. Taking place mainly over the zoom/the phone and trapped on other sides of the country during lockdown, fabulous.

If you want a quick, spicy, cute romance, pick this one up!

I love Hannah Haze first off. I was unsure how this one would go at first because a lot of omega verse is about smells and dynamics in person whereas this one starts online. However, the relationship that are omega and the alpha build just because of who they are as people outside of all the rest of it I think really gives this OV something else. I do love coming to the rescue and surprise he and stuff of that regard when it comes to omega verse.
