So obviously Author is a medical professional of some sort (I think Nurse?) and she knows her way around in the Emergency Room which reflected in this story because EVERY chapter had one emergency surgery drama or another and too much medical terms for any sane reader to understand!

Then there is the fact that it was wayyyy too long! Honestly, for a suspenseful romance, there was not much Romance and way too many bad guys & names to understand who was who and what!

In terms of the MCs, this one is an older couple in their 40's who were separated for over 20 years. When they were teens, heroine's Father caused them to break things off. Heroine was pregnant and he didn't know. She marries OM because she had no choice. OM hurts her and causes her to have a miscarriage. She becomes a brilliant Surgeon & leaves OM. Hero joins the Marines and partners with a team of friends and they open their own security firm.

20 years later, they reunite when his brother who is a cop gets shot and she has to save him. Hero is angry at her for literally a minute and then all of a sudden, they reunite and plan their forever. That all happens in the first 2 chapters I believe - literally instantly.

Then for the rest of the story, we have bad guys coming out of the woodworks left & right to try to kill either the MCs, the Hero's teammates or some innocent child/person. It was a constant theme page after page and so damn hard to follow of who was the good guy and who was the bad one.

Finally we get to the end and all bad guys are gone and MCs live HEA with miracle births & children for everyone. The End.

Whew! I have a headache. Aspirin anyone?😆

This was a wonderful book, my only criticism is the number of characters, I was completely lost at the beginning but then I just concentrated on the main ones and it became a lot easier. The storyline was fascinating and unfortunately all too familiar in this day and age. Elizabeth is one of the strongest characters I have read in a long time and I am so glad she had a happy ending.

The Chase group are every bit as exciting as they were in Secure Desire and the characters are all wonderful and Ms. Dunn makes each and everyone of them fascinating. I can’t wait for the next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in R.L. Dunn’s ‘Chase Security Series’, this was former Navy SEAL and CEO of Chase Security International Martin Bailey and Dr. Elizabeth Reed’s Story. High school sweethearts Martin and Elizabeth meet again when Martin (Marty) has to return home when his brother, Austin who is a Sergeant with the Silverton PD is shot in the line of duty. Elizabeth is the trauma surgeon in Silverton who treats Martin. Elizabeth notices a pattern of suspicious injuries that our occurring to prisoners at the local jail and wants to uncover what is happening. When she suspects that Austin’s injuries are also linked to the suspected prisoner abuse her and Marty work together to investigate. Whilst investigating Elizabeth and Marty find themselves in a complicated web of drugs, human trafficking, illicit porn, and prisoner abuse. As their feelings for each other are rekindled the couple find themselves in danger and they work alongside the members of Chase Security to solve the mystery before any more lives are lost.
Another exciting and action packed story by Dunn, which can be read as a standalone story or as part of the series. It’s not just a second chance at love romance but it is also a crime mystery story with plenty of suspense and drama. The storyline had me hooked from start to finish and the plot twists kept me guessing whilst the narrative made the book flow nicely. I loved the main characters, Martin and Elizabeth who were both very relatable and I enjoyed how their romance was rekindled and developed throughout the story. The book is recommended for over 18’s due to its adult content. This novel also dealt with some dark issues from drug abuse to human trafficking but it also has some lighter moments and the characters really bought the whole story together. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Secure Again: A Chase Group Story by R.L. Dunn is another winner. It is a thrilling and enticing read that is non stop action from the start to finish. There are so many players it is a wonder that R.L. was able to keep up with them all as it was a little daunting myself but she did a masterful job of weaving it all together to come out with a story that will have your heart pounding and your emotions on high alert. I really enjoy the Chase Group stories and love their characters. This one was a bit of a hard pill to swallow at the thought of what the evil men and women in this story were doing and I could not wait for their just deserts to be served with a side of whipped cream. It is choc-a-block full of action and danger, secrets and lies, heartache and love.

Dr. Elizabeth Reed is one strong and sassy, independent and beautiful woman but she is heartbroken. She has long suspected that things have not been right with the injuries she sees on some of her patients. When she asks questions she doesn’t realise she is now putting herself in life threatening danger. However, when doing everything she can to save a life, she comes face to face with the one person who shattered her heart.

Martin Bailey is the CEO of Chase Security International, but all that is left behind when he has a family emergency. Whilst waiting for answers he finds himself face to face with the one person who tore his heart out and stomped on it. What he finds when he gets to the hospital will require the whole of Chase Security and then some to bring the monsters to justice.

The book is extremely fast paced and will have you biting nails and on the edge of your seat. Not one to be missed.

Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2)
By R.L. Dunn
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2) by R.L. Dunn. It is a story that starts with a bang and doesn’t let you go until the final page. There is action, danger, mystery, and romance. I loved the characters of Dr. Elizabeth Reed and Martin Bailey. Elizabeth is a doctor who takes her oath to help patients very seriously. She is dedicated to her career and good at what she does. She also has a past that is painful to remember. When Austin Bailey, Martin’s brother ends up in the hospital and they meet again old memories resurface. Martin is a man who is intelligent, strong and the CEO of Chase Security. He can’t believe his eyes when he sees Elizabeth. Will anything happen between Elizabeth and Martin? Is their love for one another still there? There is a conspiracy of crimes that are being committed. Will Martin be able to keep Elizabeth safe? Will they get a HEA? Read this book to find out. This story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It has twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I grew to care about what happens to Elizabeth and Martin with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. I enjoyed reading about all of the supporting characters that helped Elizabeth and Martin. There are also those with an evil agenda that must be stopped. Don’t miss out on an amazing tale that is exciting and entertaining to read. I highly recommend reading it.

Secure Again is the second book in R.L. Dunn’s Chase Security Series. After finishing the opening to the series, I knew that I will need to get on her notification email list so that I would not miss out on the other books in the series AND I tell you, based on the sixteen founding members, we will have sooo much to look forward to! You can read every book as a standalone but I promise you, you will want to read all of the books in the series as you get to know the guys better and better and you start making connections and the pleasure you get … Just open the book and look at the list of the people listed at the beginning of each story … oh my … firstly, thank you for that list and secondly, seeing this list I can just dream about the hours we will be sending in this Chase Security universe!
Secure Again is Martin Bailey is the CEO of Chase Security International and one of the founding members and who is based out of DC. He has to return to the Midwest suddenly because of the family emergency and he comes face to face with Dr Elizabeth Reed, his one and only … There is so much heartbreak and so much pain in this story and it goes beyond Marty and Beth’s story, it shows us the perverse corrupt side of humanity and how much it takes to try to make things right …
Kudos to the writer for putting together such a fast paced story that is so interwoven and intricate and heart breaking and … it has everything that one can wish for when picking up a book! I cannot wait to head to San Diego with Julian next!

Secure Again is the 2nd book in the fantastic Chase Security series by R.L. Dunn. Dunn was new to me when I started reading this series but I’m sure I will continue to read their work as this series has been excellent so far. Each of the books in this series can be read as a standalone but I would advise starting from the first book and reading them all in order. This is more relevant when reading the third book (which I’ve just started) as there is some mention of what had gone on before in book 2, I also advise this purely as this is a fantastic series and I think that others would have a great deal of enjoyment from reading all of the books.
At just under 500 pages this is quite a long book but it is fast paced and very action packed and will have you totally engrossed and not want to put this book down. There is so much danger, mystery and intrigue that totally grabs you from the get do and just doesn’t let you go.
I absolutely adored the 2 main characters in this book, Martin and Elizabeth, and was totally invested in their story. This is a second chance romance for them and they totally deserve a HEA but the author does not let this come easily for them. They are both really put through the mill on the way.
I only have 1 thing about this book that is a very slight negative. There is a very large cast of characters and I found myself at times struggling to remember who were the ‘good guys’ and who were the ‘bad guys’. It’s a very minor issue and certainly did not reduce my enjoyment of this book.

Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2) by R.L. Dunn

The second book I've read and definitely not the last. This is the second book in the Chase Security Series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Dunn has a way of bringing you into the book.

Martin is the leading male in this book, but Ian makes an appearance. Going back to his hometown changes everything for him. Not expecting to rekindle the romance from his past. The quote I chose for Martin is: "Thank you, everyone. Those words are too few for all you are doing. I have some news for all of you. Today I made a life decision: I’ve adopted the infant injured in the trailer park fire. Lola Wyatt will be Lola Bailey by morning. In advance, I thank all her new aunts and uncles for being a part of her life. Second happy news: I plan to ask Elizabeth Reed to marry me the second she wakes up."

Elizabeth, Beth, is a doctor who finds that guards are abusing the prisoners. When a cop is shot and she tends to him; she finds that it's the younger brother of Martin. Not sure how things are going to go she faces the Bailey family. The quote I chose for Beth is: "That is a bleed. Eric, Patrick, recheck the CT. What vessel does it look like to you? There are multiple layers of collateral circulation from previous injuries. He follows his own book."

This is a fantastic read and I can't wait for the next book. Highly recommended for romance lovers.

Secure Again
Chase Security Series
Book 2
By R. L. Dunn
☆☆☆☆☆
Full length novel with more than a hot romance. Be aware you can't put this book down.

Elizabeth Reed is a trauma surgeon who has seen her fair share of injuries. She also suspects something is no good at the prison. So much Trauma, adults, children, and prisoner's. But… she has had enough. She is documenting her suspicions and keeping it until she has enough proof. In the meantime she is having problems with one of the doctors. He has caused enough problems for her to fix. So she needs to put a stop to it. That's when everything she stands for is jeopardized. The doctors think she should let the officer who was shot die. She can't though! Read on to see what happens next.

R. L. Dunn is the author of this Suspenseful story. This fast paced, easy to follow, page turner. Has it all. The emotional Rollercoaster in itself, will keep you wanting more. I love her characters, and can't help but fall in love with them. Elizabeth is such a strong heroine, and takes care of herself, and others, as she fights for her patients. The men in this story are amazing in their security plans. Which as we know, suspect the unexpected. Well Done R.L. Dunn!

Secure Again was definitely a 5 star read for me. This book had everything one could possibly want in a book. Dr Elizabeth Reed and Martin Bailey are both such strong characters and I love them both. They both have amazing jobs and are both so good at what they do.
Elizabeth Reed works in a hospital and is the best at what she does. I love some of her antics such as hip checking the bed to make the heart jump to show there is a heartbeat.
When Elizabeth decided what she wanted to do in life she went all in. She will not save a cop over a prisoner. Everyone gets equal treatment in her care. When she starts noticing things that are not how they should be she asks questions. Such questions could be dangerous for her. Martin and Elizabeth have a history and when they come face to face some feelings come barreling back!
There is so much going on in this book and I’m glad Martin went to Iowa when he did. Someone is out to get Elizabeth, will he be able to save her and her career? There were lots of characters....so many were evil some were good, it was hard to keep them straight but I did. This was a great read and I strongly recommend it to everyone.

Ohhhh my, I just totally adored this book. I was completely sucked into it and couldn’t put it down until I had soon consumed it in one full sitting. Literally, I never even got up to cook supper this book consumed me that much it lead to a fantastic pizza night in our household!

Elizabeth Reed is everything you want to see in a female lead. A strong and fierce force to be reckoned with when it comes to medical integrity, she truly made this book so delicious to read. I Farmer (Martin) Bailey is the type of man that makes you weak in the knees; delicious, strong, protective, and down-right a hot Alpha lead. Elizabeth finds herself questioning the injuries that are coming in with the inmates from the local jail. As a doctor something doesn’t seem right and she is determined to get the the bottom of it. Just as that is heating up she is also faced with the fact that she is keeping the brother of the man she loves alive. These two do not have a pretty past but can they work together and find a beautiful future together? I can’t wait to see what the next book in the Chase Group stories will bring us.

Wow...there is a lot going on in this book and it is an amazing ride. While this book may be intimidating due to the amount of pages, I found myself flipping through them so fast and I arrived at the end of the story before I knew it. I was so engrossed in the story that I completely tuned out the world around me.

Martin, the CEO of Chase Security, is called home when his brother ends up in the hospital. Elizabeth is the doctor treating Martin's brother. The two share a heartbroken past that they must face when they see each other again. This is not your typical second-chance romance, though. First, R.L. Dunn makes them work hard to move beyond the past and even have a chance at a future. Oh...and there's the web of prisoner abuse and other crimes that they must unravel along the way.

This book was fast paced and action packed. I read it from cover to cover in one evening because I couldn't put it down (I had to know how it was going to end!). There were twists and turns along the way which kept me fully invested until the end. I enjoyed the first book...but I loved this book! This series is amazing and I can't wait to see what R.L. Dunn has in store next!

Secure Again: A Chase Group Story was a great 5 star read.
Once I started I couldn’t put it down. There is so much going on with all the characters.
Elizabeth is a surgeon and Martin is the CEO of Chase Security.

Elizabeth is a very caring person and becomes concerned when she starts seeing patients from the local jail coming in with injuries. When Martin gets called home after his brother has been shot, he finds out that Elizabeth is the one keeping his brother alive. These two have a history that didn’t end well for them.

As the investigation continues on both the shooting and the jail injuries things intensify. Can Chase Security get the answers and solve the mystery? Will Elizabeth and Martin reconnect and have a second chance at a HEA?

Overall I loved this book, I was pulled right in and couldn’t wait to see what was coming next. You get suspense, mystery, romance and so much more. I am really enjoying this series. All of the secondary characters are great. I highly recommend this series.

Secure Again (Chase Security Series #2) by R.L. Dunn

Secure Again is the second book in the Chase Security Series by R.L Dunn. This is a fast paced action packed story that pulled me in from the beginning and kept my attention till the end. I will say that this can be read as standalone but id highly suggest reading this series in order. This is Dr. Elizabeth Reed and Martin’s story. She’s a surgeon and he’s former Navy SEAL and now CEO of Chase Security, these two have a past together. Elizabeth starts to notice a increase in injuries involving some of the prisoners from the local prison . She sets out” to get to the bottom of it”. Martin gets called back home because his brother got injured at work. Oh boy when these two come face to face old feelings come back. Can they figure out what is going on? Is she in danger? Can these two have a future? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next I. This series .

This is a gripping and thrilling adventure from start to finish. This is the 2nd book in the Chase Security series.

Dr Elizabeth Reed is dedicated to her work and her patients. When she starts to see people arriving at the hospital from a prison with injuries the same she starts to wonder what is going on there.

Martin is the CEO of Chase Security and after returning back to his home time the last thing he expects is to reunite with the love of his life. When he comes to investigate who shot his brother he is surprised when he find out it is Dr Reed keeping him alive.

As the investigations into the shooting and also into the prisoners injuries continues can they find out what and who is behind it before its too late and more people lose their life? Will the fact they are investigating put them in danger? Can an old love be reborn and made stronger than ever?

All these questions keep you guessing all through the book and keeps you gripped all the way through. I loved it and can't wait to read the next one.

When you have a blast from your past, will you be able to resist or crave what you have been missing all this time.

Elizabeth is a doctor who has a troubled past, although she takes her oath very seriously but when a man from her past comes crashing in will her heart be able to survive the encounter.

Martin is the CEO of Chase Security, when his brother is admitted into hospital, Elizabeth is the last person he thinks he will see, but will there past be able to be overcomed and hopefully create a fresh future or will the past catch up with them and will Martin have to save her from the threat that is attaching them.

This story is full of action, thrills and twists. Martin's character in the first book was so strong and controlled, in this book you feel the vulnerability in him and it is great to see him in turmoil over this independant and sassy woman. This story was well written and had me on the edge of my seat with every turn of the page. I can't wait to read the next book in this series and see which one of the characters is next to get his story.

From the first page, the reader is pulled – yanked in fact – into Elizabeth Reed’s world, and the tension just keeps building. One of the things I like best about RL Dunn’s writing is that you’re kept on your toes (and the edge of your seat). Nothing is ever obvious or overstated; you travel with the characters to the end point (and to the solution), and this book is no exception to that. Elizabeth and Martin also have a chemistry that you can feel; it is never artificial. There is no superfluity in the writing; there is just a sense of being part of a frankly frightening situation. The world needs more ER doctors like Elizabeth – and more organizations like Chase Security (with men like Martin Bailey!). Before you read, be sure to have everything you’ll need for a few hours without interruption, and then revel in this book.

I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2)
By R.L. Dunn
4 stars

Secure Again was another great read from R.L. Dunn; the story was as engaging and exciting to read as the first one. There was great mix of mystery and suspense running throughout and I was engaged from beginning to end. I loved that the plot was predictable either; I loved having to guess what is going to happen!! There did seem to be quite a few different characters and it took me a little while to get used to them all but I loved the main characters! I loved Elizabeth! She was a really strong character and a pleasure to read about. I was definitely on the edge of my seat on a few occasions waiting to see if characters would survive and would Elizabeth be able to help them! There were a few twists in the story too which made it even better to read!
Secure Again was a great read, one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and one that I would highly recommend!

Secure Again is the second book in the Chase Security series by R.L Dunn. It is a second chance romance- with suspense, intrigue, mystery, danger, hidden agendas, chemistry, and high stakes.
Dr. Elizabeth Reed is a surgeon who has noticed a number of disturbing injuries stemming from the local prison. She is determined to find out what is going on.
Martin Bailey is the CEO of Chase Security International- is drawn into the mystery through his brother (a police officer) and the investigation he was conducting. But Martin and Elizabeth also have a past relationship- and soon old feelings are bubble to the surface, adding to the already charged situation. With a complicated web to untangle, there is no time to spare if they are to figure it all out before anyone else dies.
There was a lot going on and a lot of characters to keep track of, too. Making for an intense read.
Bring on Book #3!

Thank you, R.L Dunn!

Secure Again (Chase Security Series #2) by R.L. Dunn. I LOVE this series and I always get wrapped up in these stories and feel like I know the characters. This one is no different. This is the story of Dr. Elizabeth Reed who is very independent and successful. She is a trauma surgeon who will do anything to help her patients. When a police officer shows up in the ER she is shocked at the state his is in. She knows something fishy is going on and she's going to find out what. Martin Bailey is a formal Navy Seal who gets a call that his brother Sergeant Austin Bailey has been shot in the line of duty and he's needed at home asap. Once he gets home he's so focused on his brother that he is in complete shock when he see's his old flame Elizabeth. Once she and Martin catch up they try to figure out what is going on in this town. Will Elizabeth and Martin rekindle their old flame and will they figure out what is going on in their sleepy little town before its too late?

I enjoyed this book. This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much if not more than the first one. If you have not read the first book, I highly suggest doing so. This is a well written story that has great details that made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. I had no issues connecting with the characters as they brought the story to life. Chase security is back in this romance-mystery story that is full of action and steamy characters. There have been quite a few prisoner injuries and there seems to be some type of pattern. Will they solve this mystery before more lives are lost? We also have a little rekindling romance starting between Dr. Elizabeth and Marty. What will fate have in store for them? This story has such great supportive characters that I enjoyed reading their story. I highly recommend reading this book.

Secure Again is the second book in the Chase Security series by R.L Dunn. I loved the first book in this series and this book did not disappoint! When the brother of Chase Security CEO Martin Bailey is critically injured in the line of duty, Martin has to return to his childhood home. Dr Elizabeth Reed, Martin’s former love, is tasks with saving his brothers life and the two are forced to reconnect.
It soon become apparent that Martin’s recent investigation is connected to his brothers injuries and Elizabeth has had suspicions in the past that everything in her small town is not as it should be, especially concerning the local prison. This book is brilliant, it is so exciting from start to finish and you never know what is going to happen next. I am definitely a fan of this series and cannot wait for book 3.

This the second book in the Chase Security Series and I have to say that it is better than the first. I recommend reading the first book to enjoy this installment. The story’s plotline has amazing details to describe what was going on. I felt as if I was right there with Chase Security. The characters are complex and complicated. The agency has former Navy Seal Martin, as the CEO of Chase Security and he is transiting into the role nicely. Martin’s brother, Austin was shot and his high school sweetheart Elizabeth was the surgeon for his brother. Will Martin and Elizabeth restart their high school fling? Will figure out what is going on in their town? I highly recommend this story to find out the answers to these and many more questions.

Secure Again by R.L. Dunn is the second book in the Chase Security series. This book is a fast paced book that is full of twists and turns the whole way through. It has you on the edge of your seat wanting to find out what is going to happen.
The characters are such strong characters that for me they really carried this book. I loved the feisty and strong side you get to see of them and how well that worked with their connection. The story itself felt exciting and like the author really knew how to keep you guessing. It meant that I did struggle to put it down once I had started reading it and finished it in one sitting.
This is a great addition to the series I am looking forward to seeing what is next.

Secure Again is the second book in R.L. Dunn’s Chase Security Series. Just like the first book in this series you are hooked from the first page and the authors words keep you hypnotized until the last page, even then you want to just jump to the next book to keep reading. This book is filled with action, romance, and mystery. You follow the characters Dr. Elizabeth Reed who is a trauma surgeon and Martin Bailey who is a former Navy SEAL but now the CEO of Chase Security International. These two have a past but is the love they once had still there? Will she get to the bottom of the issues at the prison? The author did an amazing job writing the storyline and book altogether. I cant wait to read Book 3 in this series.

Secure Again by R.L. Dunn is the second book in the Chase Security Series. This is a continuation of the first book, so I highly recommend reading book one in the series first. This story focuses on Dr. Elizabeth Reed, who notices a mysterious medical issue at the jail and Martin Bailey, CEO of Chase Security International, who has his own investigations ongoing. This is a good story that is full of suspense, mystery, and romance. I was drawn into the story and wanted to keep reading to find out what was going on for Dr. Reed and Martin's cases. I liked there were separate stories, but they intertwined. I also enjoyed the characters. I look forward to reading more in this series soon.

Secure Again is book 2 in the Chase Security Series by R.L. Dunn. I don’t know if it is just me but I felt that there was a huge amount going on and I was lost for a good time with this book, took me a good while to get through this book. On saying that though once I was able to get into the storyline I found the book flowed nicely and I do recommend that it is read. I do like books that the author allows a female character to be strong and stay true to herself. I would highly suggest starting with book one in the series. I do think that this is going to be a good series.
