It’s the past that shapes a person into who they are destined to become.
In 1993, Benjamin “Keys” Taylor had it all. A rewarding career with the Marie Corps and the love a good woman waiting at home, until a night out on shore leave sets in motion changes he never saw coming.
Once back on home soil, he was unable to resist his need to see his woman, Donna. In his haste to reconnect, he inadvertently put her in the crosshairs of an enemy. One that was set on destroying the one Keys loved the most in order to hurt the Charon MC.
Surviving the fallout was not easy for either of them, but their love for each other was strong enough for them to make it through. Now, they find themselves with a new house guest, a woman who’s been horribly abused and needs their help. But her presence is bringing those old, vicious memories all back to the forefront, once more testing the strength of their love for one another.
Not one of the better ones in the series. Rather a bit plain. Only romance was Keys and his wife had sex once and decided to work on doing better in their marriage. A woman who the club rescued once before needed it again and that's what it was about. Don't even know what happened to him. Seems maybe the author was on a time limit and just wrote something that was pretty boring.
Khloe Wren is an amazing talent author! This book is a great addition to the series. It keeps you wanting more. You get all the feels as your discover Keys and Donna's Journey!! Can't wait for the next one!! Go check out this must read series if you haven't already!!
Love at first sight that was Keys and Donna. But Sledge from the Iron Hammers doesn't like that a Charon MC member is on their patch let alone seeing a woman on his patch that means she belongs to him the Iron Hammers.
Keys has to fly out to see an injured marine buddy but doesn't want to leave Donna. Sledge sees it as the perfect opportunity to jump in n take what he wants.
Donnas flat mate realises something is wrong and vows to get Donna away safely before she leaves for home for Christmas.
For some reason I read book 11 then 13 totally missed this keys book out but it just goes to show you can read them as individual Hea but are a lot better apart of the set
This was a good bridge book, liked back history with Keys and Donna and how they were struggling in the present, how the club knew and put both in the position to do something to move on. The drama with someone the club helped in the past and helped again was good and bad. Good that they were there, but bad because they needed the help again. I also really like the new direction the club is taking on the business side. That should bring all sorts of new things to the club. I'm also waiting to see how all these crushes work out.
This possibly wasn't my favourite book in the series, however it was a really good bridging story. In previous books we met Keys and Donna and providing you've read the series you will know what happened with Em. It's a pretty emotional addition to the Charon family and it flowed well, with the added bonus of bringing Mirabelle back into the main stream. This is not a dark MC series but it has enough grit to ensure it isn't just a romance with an MC backdrop. I look forward to Arrow's story.
So I will be honest it was a little space out from one part to the next kinda fast but it does go very well. I really love keys and Donna alot. It is a fast read but very good as well. I could still picture it as I was reading it and that's always a good thing for me to feel like I'm there with them. Keys does have a hard time and poor Donna but they come back stronger than ever

I have absolutely loved this series, and this story was no exception. With awesome characters, humor, drama, angst, tragedies, suspenseful situations, and intriguing twists and turns, it's certainly a story that you're not going to want to miss! I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of this series! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
It's about time that we finally get to really see Key's story! I've been waiting on this one since the start of it all (no really...I love all the boys but Key's piqued my interest from the start) As always Khloe pulls you right down into the thick of things with these boys and I love every moment of it!
Guess it's time to start over until we get more! <3 what can I say I love this series and it's constantly on my re-read list!
Reading Keys and Donna story gave me a better insight into their story. Keys detemine to protect everyone he loves. Donna loving her daughter who was created from rape and Keys being Emma father. The lost of their daughter, Keys need to protect everyone also broke them. But with the help of their brothers and sisters help them to heal and reconnect. And Maybella bring her into their lives made it more complete.
This is Keys and Donnas story finally from the behinning. It is set years ago when he was still enlisted and she was a student. Their love was what got them through a pain no woman should suffer. Fast forward to today and pain and suffering are still present but it's now they overcome it.
Wow Donna and Keys sure have been through the struggles. I'm mad she hadn't told Keys what happened that first time, she let it go on too long. Her man had his club behind him and would have protected her. Then her daughter's betrayal cut too deep and still can't believe they lost her like that.
I adore Donna!! I could not wait to read her and Key’s story and it did not disappoint! It broke my heart at some points but life is not all sunshine and rainbows, it is raw and real and this story was as real as it got. From Keys having to deal with his buddy’s death to Donna dealing with her rape and saving a marriage from guilt. There was so much! Loved this!!!
This was a let down... I liked the back story of keys life. But the other part was ok I guess. It's good that that saved her again but I don't quite understand why they keep treating her like a little kid. I thought she was in her early 30s. I feel like it left alotttt of stuff out, like its not finished.
What a totally amazing book! I just absolutely loved it from beginning to end! I couldn't put it down until I was done! A definite must read and I can't wait for the next book to come out! Happy Reading!!! :)
Wow! This story takes you and an emotional rollercoaster ride. Keys and Donna are a great team but have a traumatic past together. Lots of feels reading this one makes for a wild ride.
Very good read with insight to Donna and Keys story. A little bit drama with a catch up story with a character from previous book. Definitely looking forward to the next Charon brother story.
Khloe Wren did a beautiful job of filling us in on their past; while keeping all the details from previous books clear; and introducing new details and struggles in a new way. This is a series that can live on forever!
This is a story I've wanted forever. Keys and Donna's story, is emotional as well as filled with strength. Humanity as well as humility, and so much more come from this story that will answer so many questions one would have over this couple.
I really enjoyed going back and seeing how Keys and Donna got there start. They have been a favorite of mine in this series. Love how this mc helps out each other. This is an amazing series and I can't wait for the next book.
The characters and plot were good. What I don't care for is that we already know that Key has an old lady, but this book goes way back in time and then current. I just don't care for these kinds of books.
I really liked reading about how Keys and Donna got together, sometimes you wonder about the established relationships in a series; It’s nice to get answers on them.
What an amazing ride. From beginning to end I couldn't put this book down. My heart broke for Keys and Donna and all they had been through. In the no matter what was thrown at them their love and family at their back got them through it together. I love this series and can't wait to see what happens next.
