Gaby Durand, a woman with psychic abilities, came to the Phoenix Agency for help. The former military men who run the agency are all married to women with psychic abilities and they have created a Psi Department within the Agency. Here, at last, Gaby feels comfortable, feels she can make a positive contribution.
Gaby came to Phoenix about visions concerning Justin Harding, a man out to kill Dan Romeo, the Agency’s senior partner. Making good on his threat, Harding tried to kill Dan but was captured, tried, convicted, and sent to prison.
But Harding, having escaped from prison, is targeting Dan once again. Only this time, he’s also targeting Gaby since he’s learned that she was the one who identified him as the killer. Former SEAL Ben Winters will take her to an isolated cabin on the coast of Maine until Harding is back in custody again.
Will Ben be able to keep Gaby safe? Will their mutual attraction to each other lead to something more? Or will Harding make good on his threat?

This short story, part of the author’s Phoenix Agency series, introduces Gaby Durand, a woman with psychic visions who has come to the Phoenix Agency for help. Here, at last, she feels comfortable . . . the former military men who run the agency are all married to women with psychic abilities and have created a Psi Department within the agency.
Readers will find much to appreciate here: suspense, tension, and action along with chemistry and passion; an unexpected twist or two keeps those pages turning. Gaby’s inherent strength is evident throughout the story; her psychic visions, a combination of extrasensory perception and aura interpretation, are an integral part of the telling of the tale, serving to highlight the reason Gaby had never felt comfortable before finding the Phoenix Agency. It’s an innovative and interesting aspect of the story; readers are sure to look forward to a happily ever after for Gaby.

Color Of Darkness is a fantastic romantic suspense by Desiree Holt. This is a quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Holt has provided readers with a well-written book populated with a phenomenal cast of characters. Gaby has visions and warned Phoenix when Dan was a target. Now she's being protected by former SEAL Ben. Ben and Gaby's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I loved reading Color Of Darkness and can't wait to read more from Desiree Holt. Color Of Darkness is part of the Phoenix Agency Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Gaby has visions that cause her world to go dark and her body to double over. Escaped prisoner, Justin Harding, is after her. Ben Winters, a fellow agent at Phoenix, is to take her to a safe house and protect her. Will Harding find her? Will the lust she feels for Ben overflow?
I enjoyed this short story. I liked Gaby. She is stronger than she thinks. I liked when Ben came to the door and the levity he displays there. I also appreciated how quick he was to defend Gaby when necessary. I loved that they were able to be open about their feelings for each other. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Short but good
If you are wanting to read something fast and well written , this little book is it. Just a bit of action and bit of romance. You will like this book.

Loved it!
It's a quick little read that has a lot of action. Ms. Holt's books always pull me in quickly and don't let go. An enjoyable story!

Excitement in a few pages
For such a short story, it certainly packed a bunch. Fast- paced, suspenseful, and filled with anticipation and plenty of chemistry.

Desiree Holt never disappoints me, the color Of Darkness is everything I want in a romantic suspense book, I love the characters, passion, twists and turns, this one is a short read but so good!

This is a romantic suspense short story which contains adult content 18+
Gaby is a woman who has psychic abilities, ones that indentifed a killer who has now escaped prison and is after her. Luckily she has Ben, an ex SEAL to protect her. But Gaby has a lot of feelings where he is concerned.
I've never read any of this authors work before, but this exciting and fast paced short is the perfect introduction.
The characters are intriguing and it makes me want to go and read the rest of the Phoenix Agency series that this novella is a part of.
