Believe #3

Time To Learn

Rate this book
Love was deceitful... I was blind, until he opened my eyes.

My fairy-tale ending turned out to be a nightmare. Fear of the one I gave my vows to held me captive for far too long. But there was one light amidst all the darkness – my daughter, Ailith. She gave me the strength to escape the prison of his love. Now, I’m a 33-year-old single mother, living back home in Scotland and trying to keep the family horse training business afloat. Starting over in a small town, I struggle to find the courage to live again, while remembering who I was.

One day, a glance from a gorgeous stranger makes my heart beat faster and a sliver of hope laced with desire slices through me. He makes me feel things I'd long since forgotten, reminding me that a man's touch can bring pleasure, not just pain.

Will it be enough?

Love was a painful illusion... a lie. Until she showed me truth.

The one I loved didn't love me back. I was falling over my own two feet for her, yearning for the very thing I've avoided all my life: love. I risked it all for nothing.
I fled to Scotland to escape the memories and now I’m more lost than I've ever been, as I learn to let go of the woman who crushed my already broken heart. Moving on, I bury myself in my art waiting for the hole in my chest to heal.

One day, the sorrow in a beautiful woman's eyes causes me to stumble again. My heart beats anew, and I’m filled with hope and burning with desire. She uncovers feelings I tried to keep buried, and now that I realize how bad I want her, I'll risk it all to have her.

Will she let me in?

For Laura and Kristian, everything changes with just one glance. Their chemistry is undeniable, but can two people who have been burned in the past open their hearts and learn to love again?

Author's Note: While this is book #3 in The Believe Series, it can be read as a standalone novel. Includes a hot-as-sin tattoo artist, a stubborn Scottish woman, horses, and lots of swoon-worthy moments. You have been warned.

As always I am grateful to the author for providing me with an ARC, but there are certain things I don’t like in my romance, and at the point I had stopped we had already hit the mother lode of what I dislike.

My expectations based on the blurb - Author's Note: While this is book #3 in The Believe Series, it can be read as a standalone novel. Includes a hot-as-sin tattoo artist, a stubborn Scottish woman, horses, and lots of swoon-worthy moments. You have been warned.

The reality –

I can assure you there were no swoons from this reader, a few swallows though... of distaste at his behavior. Now I am not one to judge, and I am also not one to take other peoples reviews into account, but seeing that the aforementioned is not the only occurrence, of this type our hot-as-sin tattooist has already marked his card with me, and as such I am choosing not to continue.

It is a shame because I was 100% enjoying this story and up to that point, both the H/h have things they need to work out (obviously) which is what I expected to be the basis of the plot, we have a unique setting with the horse Sanctuary and a feisty child, all plusses for this reader. I was expecting angst and drama, but the story and the synopsis don't quite match up in my opinion. However, this is only my opinion and as such I would still recommend the book, if the aforementioned isn’t something that turns you off your Heroes.

Again, my thanks to the author for the provision of and ARC, I am sorry I cannot be more positive on this occasion.

This review will likely contain spoilers and a bit of ranting. Read at your own risk.

This was my first read by Karen Ferry, she has been on my radar for a little while now as we have common friends on social media and I've been curious about her work.
A few days ago she was offering Arcs opportunities on Facebook and let's just say she hooked me up on it with few little words: single mom, sexy tattoo artist, Scotland. Very steamy.

I didn't think twice, I was in between reads, it felt like providence to me, I love single parents tropes, sexy tattoo artists sounds very appealing to me and Scotland held a promise of a beautiful setting. The cherry on top was the mention of a steamy read. Alleskelle: SOLD!

In fact, here's the author's note about the book Goodreads' page :
While this is book #3 in The Believe Series, it can be read as a standalone novel. Includes a hot-as-sin tattoo artist, a stubborn Scottish woman, horses, and lots of swoon-worthy moments. You have been warned.

As such I really enjoyed the beginning of the book, decent and engaging writing, the prologue promising of a premise I usually enjoy in my romance books: Single mom wronged by her first love, forced to run off with her kid to a new place. In our heroine's case, living and working alongside with her mother on the family farm in Scotland.
I loved the dynamic of this new small family, Laura, her Mom Wenn, and the kid, Ailith.
So when fate started to throw a younger and hot a sin tattoo artist over Laura's path, I really thought I was in for a treat.

But then... Kristian happened.
Young Kristian could be the sexiest man standing I wouldn't give him the time of the day. For all he was described as sexy as sin this man was a giant douchebag in my opinion.

I almost fell for his prince charming act when he took interest about Laura and her kid in the bookstore. That might be his only interesting action in all 200 pages I've read.

My first problem with him and the book itself was when a few hours after thinking Laura so special, baiting her into kissing him, plotting about taking her to bed, all the while acknowledging how different she was from his usual hook ups, he goes on scheduling a threesome with two other women.

I thought that would be all but no, the author delivered a very graphic sex scene of aforementioned threesome.
I didn't need that. It was completely unnecessary. The hero's manwhore's ways had been hinted at already, did we really need to read such a descriptive sex scene about him nailing two women? There was no point to that scene at all especially while the hero's interest for the heroine is running so strong...

I get that the hero was in a confusing place, obviously he had things going in his life to work about but he was going from "This woman is so special I need her" to "let's arrange a threesome I need a distraction" way faster for me to follow or even comprehend.

Later on in the book, the heroine wakes up from a dream about her hot tattoo artist and proceeds to have a solo session in her bed. I mean fine. Why not. But do I want to read in details about her masturbating? Well, not my cuppa, personally. Again, I didn't feel it was bringing anything to the story.

Here's another shining moment for Kristian.
“Look”, I start, scratching the old wooden bar. “I'm sort of interested in someone else at the moment, but if that ends up not going anywhere, I'd like to ask you out some other time. You good with that?”

The pretty bartender agrees, but at the same time, Laura, our heroine, walks in the bar. Kristian proceeds to spend time with her and their friends and over a conversation agrees to become friends and nothing more with her. Minutes later he finds himself shagging the bartender from earlier in the pub's bathroom, and of course the heroine catches them! *roll eye*

What follows made me lose all respect I had for the heroine and let's not even talk about the hero for whom all I felt was disgust.
The heroine obviously perturbed by the hero's behavior decided to get drunk but the craziest part is that when he comes back from his hookup and finds her drunk out of her mind and sick, he goes on taking care of her and the heroine falls for it, even thinking " he smells so good ". *gags*

What had started good for me took a nose dive after too many douchebag actions from the hero and unnecessary sex scenes to show me how deep his manwhore's ways ran.
I got the point when he was described as one, I didn't need those two very detailed sex scenes with other females.

I've had many issues with the female lead as well, first presented as a resilient and strong woman she quickly fell into the empty headed and weak heroines category for me and I lost interest for her as well.

The setting was as advertised though, I enjoyed that part at least.

As for the "steam", I hope every sex scene, masturbating, threesome and otherwise didn't qualify as such in the author's mind. If that was the case, then I'll strongly have to disagree, and accept that this author, as talented a writer she may be, is not for me.
I hiss when the last of my cum spurts and lands on the shower floor.

I wish I had a warning about all the above, I usually don't mind much about a hero having sex with other women if it adds to the story, but in this case it just felt gratuitous and wrong.
Probably a case of "it's not you, book, it's me". Eh.

I received an copy of this book in exchange for my review. ( Full disclosure, I ended up purchasing the book because of formatting issues.)

I have loved every Karen Ferry book that I’ve read up to this point. So, when I saw she was releasing a new one, I knew I have to read it. So I did it, and I liked it, just didn’t quite loved it.

Sure, the book was well written, I do love Ferry’s writing. And while I love angst and live for the heartbreaking pain some stories can evoke, this story left me a little down. And it wasn’t just that, there were some details I didn't like. I have nothing against relationships where the heroine is older than the hero, but they aren’t my cup of tea, so you can imagine my surprise when I realized Kristian was younger than Laura. Then we have the hero having sex with another girl, and damn it, I was so fucking pissed, like “really dude?”.

"...let me try to chase away your fear, Laura.”

After that fuckery, Kristian really tried to redeem himself with me by being patient with Laura. She came from a horrific relationship so she wasn’t looking for getting involved with another man. Kristian had to give her time and wait until she was ready. And he did it with honors.

The horses, I loved horses!! Thunder, in particular, that one got my heart. I got sucked in the moments when they were just there, helping them to heal, feeding them. Karen Ferry really did a great job transporting me to the farm, I could feel the calming atmosphere surrounding the place and get why Kristian felt so comfortable being there.

Getting back to the emotional aspect of the book, I think more insight into Laura’s past would have made me feel more connected to her.

I can’t finish this review without saying that those sexy scenes, HAWT! Well done Karen Ferry, well fucking done!

All in all, Time to Learn was an enjoyable love story. A story that shows us once again that the sun always shines after the storm. If you're looking for a sexy second chance romance with a little angst on the side, you can't go wrong with this one.

I have to say that for my first book by this author. I enjoyed this book, but some things I just didn't like.

Laura had the fairytale romance. She met a guy and they fell in love and life was good. But then her sweet dreams turned into a nightmare. And she didn't just have herself to think of she had a daughter as well. So she got out. And she went home to try and lead a normal life and that would be helping her mother on her farm and enjoying her life with her daughter.

Kristian had his own issues. Living with his aunt after leaving home and now he is trying to get over heartbreak and that is just enjoying his life, having one night stands and doing his job as a tattoo artist.

When he and Laura meets they are two broken people. And Laura doesn't want to get involved with another man, but Kristian once he met Laura and her daughter, Ailith, he knew that he wanted her and he knew that she could be the one for him.

A heartbreaking story and what I loved is that Kristian was very patient with Laura he gave her time and just waited until she was ready.
What I didn't like was one scene in the book, that after Laura told him they can only be friends, he went and had sex with someone else while she wasn't too far away... Not his finest moment. But other than that, Sweet, Drama, Hot sex scenes and definitely a good read.

Incredible! I have to think about this one before I write my review. But, I will say that I loved the two main characters and little Ailith. And, Ms. Ferry writes with compassion and understanding. The reader might get a little angry at times and the sadness will creep in, but in the end the feeling is peaceful and the happiness will be the greatest reward for this couple. Loved it!!!

I have read all of Ms. Ferry's books and each one is unique in its own right. I really can't say which one is my favorite, but this new release was such an emotional read. Abuse was definitely a big factor here, but it's not graphically depicted. It was referred to on occasion, and the big reason why Laura was afraid to take a chance on Kristian. But, Kristian was so persuasive and attractive. So Laura had a really hard time saying "no" to him. I'm not a big lover of animals, but this story takes place with the backdrop of a horse farm in Scotland. It was intriguing to read about. Something different that I really never had any experience with. And, Kristian being a tattoo artist is, of course, just so beautifully hot! With his piercings and tattoos he was just gorgeous! Their love story is just simply stunning! This is one book that does not disappoint! With Laura's mom and cute little daughter, it also portrayed a supportive and loyal family together when Laura life was brutally wounded. I couldn't love Laura and Kristian's love story more! I was even a little teary-eyed towards the end. Looking forward to see what Ms. Ferry has up next...

I really enjoyed this book, I read it in one sitting and didn't want it to end! As usual Karen has written a beautiful love story about 2 broken souls coming together and helping each other put their pieces back together again. I loved the relationship Kristian had with Laura and her daughter Ailith, it was so moving, touching and full of love. Kristian was so patient with Laura, he didn't rush her to tell her story and took their relationship at a pace she was comfortable with. Laura was a great character, it was wonderful to see her become more confident and blossom over the pages, Karen did a great job bringing Laura to life through out the book. As I would expect from this author, there's panty melting sex scenes that singe the pages! There might be some scenes people find uncomfortable as this book covers domestic violence . This is the third book in the series but could be read as a standalone, I love this author so please give this book and the series a go, you won't be disappointed.

“Hello Laura, I’m Kristian.”

Four words that give me goosebumps every. single. time. *sighs*

I can’t even begin to put into words how excited I was for the release of TTL. To have a character that I have personally championed being given a chance at a HEA means more than words can say. I freely admit that I became *coughs* slightly enamoured with Kristian after reading Make Me Believe (Believe #1). Whaaaa? Don’t look at me like that *snorts*

“Silence can roar louder when you’re alone than when you’re surrounded by people. Silence makes you remember the things you’d rather forget.”

I couldn’t bear the thought of him still out there wandering aimlessly, looking for something that was just beyond his reach. What can I say? A book character has never been more alive to me than Kristian. He planted himself firmly in my psyche. Yup! *nods head* I agree, I am that nuts *shrug*

Yet, just as I knew there was more of Kristian’s story to be unravelled, I knew it would take someone special to capture his heart once again. And for me, Laura is most certainly that. She is by no means a conventional heroine.

Laura has endured and survived what most of us can’t even begin to fathom. But survive she did. For there is nothing in this world more precious to her than that of her daughter Ailith. In order to protect herself from events of the past, Laura keeps her heart locked up tight. She believed in love once, but love is for fools – isn’t it?

Only a pair of bright blue eyes seems to have the power to throw her off kilter. And what’s that? Could her cold dead heart actually be thawing?

Well, I, for one, know if that gaze was upon me, my lady bits would probably go up in flames *snorts* Okay, okay TMI, TMI – I hear ya!

Now, let me tell you something Dear Reader. You do have to gird your loins for certain parts of the book. You will indeed want to cause our main man bodily harm of some description because – hello – he does make an idiotic decision or two. I do believe I threatened castration at one point *smirks* but what he fails to realise is the only person he’s hurting is ultimately himself.

I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and like Kristian, I lost my heart to a spunky eight-year-old. Kristian may have had to travel hundreds of miles, but he has finally found his home.

Dear Kristian,

We made it, eh?

Daniel may have made me a believer, and Garrett may have made me a fool for love, but you have taught me it’s never too late to learn to love. And that’s the greatest lesson there is for me.

Love always,

Laura (not your Laura, obvs)

I can rest easy now, lol!

As always Karen Ferry brings her characters to life in this story of two broken souls who meet when Laura moves back to Scotland to live with her mum (Wenn) on their farm, after the end of an abusive relationship, and Kristian joins his Aunt Lise in Scotland to put a broken heart behind him.
Laura and her daughter Ailith love being involved in New Beginnings - Wenn's horse rehabilitation centre and hope that time will heal them. What Laura doesn't expect, or want, is a man to feature in those plans.. but after meeting Kristian 3 times in 3 days is fate playing a helping hand?
Laura puts up all the blocks but Kristian seems determined to break through them and slowly Laura allows herself to start to feel again.
The sex is super hot as is Kristian!!
This book took me through all the emotions, I giggled at times and I cried.. and also steamed up plenty of times along the way!
make sure you get this on your TBR list straight away.

This book was just freaking amazing, all the feels. I was enraptured. Reading about these two tormented souls moved me so much, I really enjoyed how the author could write about dark situations or tragedies without reserve and mostly avoiding pathos.

I knew the first time I’ve met Kristian in Make Me Believe that I’d love his story, if he had a chance to get one.  When Karen Ferry made it came true … I wasn't disappointed. At. All.

Kristian was a bit lost at this moment of his life between family issues, being in love with a woman who didn't love him back, he needed a change and lead it to Scotland, where his life was going to be turn upside down. Living his ways of a manwhore, avoiding relationship like the plague, filling his days as a tattoo artist, it was enough at this moment, escaping the defeated silence.

There was something about him that made him more mature and wiser than his actions, and the moment he met Laura, it’s like his heart was beating again, the feeling was as scary as thrilling.

Enlight68

Laura, the feisty Scottish woman, working in her mother’s ranch, taking care of horses and single mom. Tough as nails, she went through a lot. As tragic as it sounded, I liked to read about she survived and mostly fighting everyday, to be the one in control and definitely not giving her heart.

Like never.

Enlight69

A bit of sass, fierce and protecting the ones she loved, breaking all the walls was a challenge that Kristian was willing to take, and oh my ...

They may have heavy luggages but they were never judging each other, accepting without reserve who they really are, and it was written so beautifully. I loved that Kristian had to work for it, in his mission to break Laura's walls. And he definitely knows how to use his "assets" LOL

I had to tell you that book has less amount of sex than the other ones but don't get me wrong, you can feel the heat. A simple touch or a simple glance, you got it, you felt it, just an incredible feeling.

Seriously, I felt so much, the range of emotions were just incredible ... I have to stop rambling … but I just can’t.

The chemistry was off the charts, the tension was palpable, the author's way to convey emotions and to make the readers connect with the characters and world was magical. I went from smiling to almost crying, and definitely not regretting anything, every words, every moments from the bad to the good ones, I heard them all, I was living it with my whole heart. Laura, her daughter (Ailith) and Kristian made such a beautiful family, a connexion that no one would never be able to destroy.

Enlight61

I can tell you all the things I loved about this book,  I can ramble for days but all you need to know that I wasn't looking for something perfect, but something real, raw, scorching with a hint of sweetness. Their journey made me feel so much, I couldn't put it down, I was overwhelmed.

I didn't need time to learn how to love Kristian and Laura, it just happened. Just like that.

Wow what a beautifully written, beautifully hopeful & tender hearted story. Karen Ferry has once again produced another fabulous book with gorgeous characters that are so damn easy to love. From that heart wrenching prologue to the simply stunning epilogue I was pulled into Laura & Kristian’s journey, felling all of their fear & pain, witnessing their vulnerability & bravery but most of all bathing in their love & tenderness.

So who were my soul takers (happy sigh)

First I want to chat about Laura, my beautifully broken & deeply damaged heroine. Now this girl no matter her past horrors is STRONG. She has overcome so much & even though the war rages on inside her daily, she is still a beautiful mom to Ailith, a caring daughter to Wenn & the truest of bestfriends to Trish. This girl may be scared to bare her soul, which in turn means she is terrified at the thought of revealing her darkest secrets, but her courage, strength & capacity to try is breathtakingly beautiful. I loved how hard she wanted to change & just how much she trusted in Kristian – even when her heart battled with her mind & she was drowning in fear, she just never stopped trying.

Now we have Kristian.. OMG he is one sexy lil devil, with the charm & dimples to get him pretty much anything he wants. Add in his baby blues & blonde locks & you pretty much are talking exploding ovaries. I loved his sense of humour, his cheekiness which was endearing & not overtly cocky, but I ADORED his heart, his soul, his ability to see the beauty on the inside as well as the out, his protectiveness & his never ending capacity to love. This man is beyond handsome, he is beautiful. How he loves stole my heart along with my soul & boy did he make it easy to hand over. Even with his past hurts, his ability to want more & do everything in his power to show his truth & honestly was so damn perfect. Really never stood a chance lol.

All about the feels!!

Their journey captured my heart & never let it go. Every single feeling & emotion that they both fell through, touched me on so many levels. I felt their pain & anguish but also their laughter & their joy. I loved how much they were both prepared to put themselves at risk, because hope is a wonderful joyous thing & to have hope is to live, to breathe & believe in a future full of colour – bursting with love, acceptance & promises.

How was the writing?

Fabulous. This entire story was easy to get lost in. The characters were so easy to love. My fav dual POV was delivered so perfectly & wow did Karen nail the male POV like a pro. Their headspace was a gift & really did show me why they were so beautiful as individuals & together & why I felt so connected to them throughout their story.

Would I recommend it to my bestie?

YESSS. 100 times over yes. This book is hard yet soft, full of pain yet tender. It’s the kind I know my friends will love curling up with – glass of wine & tissues at hand & will be a one to play on their minds long after the read THE END.

When I finished Time To Learn by Karen Ferry I really had to think how I was going to put everything into words effectively. See, I have LOVED Karen's writing from the first time I read her. To me she's an author that isn't “seen” as much as others and definitely isn't ranked as high as others but she should be. Each of Karen's books I've read so far have been rated 5 star but in all honesty they pale in comparison to this book. And while Garrett will always be my main Ferry hero this STORY in Time To Learn will hold my heart for a very long time.

To be honest with you, when I started Time to Learn I didn't know what to do, I wasn't connecting to the story, to Laura and it was moving a little too slow. So I put it down and read something else, however a need to know things burned inside me and made me pick up the book again. I easily fell into this book after that.

I connected to Kristian immediately and felt every crack in his broken soul. I loved him. I also found myself growing more fond of Laura once she decided to find her happiness and take a chance.

Laura is a broken down woman that has suffered through some horrific events and while I really wanted her to be more open I totally understood why she guarded herself. And that's all down to Karen and the way she wrote Laura.

My heart ached and bloomed throughout this book in equal measure. With every low came a stunning high. Karen balanced the weak and the strong perfectly. She balanced the heartbreak and devastation with intense love and SUPER HOT passion and it all seemed so simple. So breathtakingly simple.

Despite my initial lull, I came to love, no, I came to adore this story. Laura and Kristian are sexy and stunning. On the whole Time to Learn is beautifully breathtaking.

Kristian Sorensen, a hot tattoo artist, moves to Glasgow to forget the past. His new life is made up of work and partying. His idea of moving on is getting drunk and sleeping with all the Scottish female population until a certain dark-haired woman came to his life.

Lauren McDougal learned early in her life that not all love stories are fairy tales. And some of them never end in a happily ever after. Well, just like hers. All she wants is to give her daughter a comfortable life but it all seems too difficult to achieve. Focus is what she needs but she can never do it if the blue-eyed hotness aka Kristian Sorensen just shows up everywhere she goes.

Each other is the last thing Kristian and Lauren need, but fate has another plan.

Karen Ferry... you have never failed to SURPRISE ME, woman! Karen has the most behaved and wholesome romance covers you'll see in the market. They're tame and very colorful, but don't be fooled my friends. What's inside those candy- colored covers is some of the HAWTEST chapters you'll read this year! This author was able to write a book that has a great blend of filth, sexiness, drama, and romance in it.

I was just craving for a little speed in the beginning of the story, though. I also wish there were more description of the characters in the first chapters. I had a little bit of trouble connecting with the H and h in the beginning, so little bit of descriptive chapters would have helped me imagine them and their world better.

Nonetheless, Karen Ferry is getting really better at what she does and I really cannot wait to read what she writes next!

I loved Time To Learn, it was a touching and romantic book; Karen Ferry did an amazing job with the storyline throughout the whole story. The book just had a feeling about it from the page one, I really felt just how loving the characters were with each other and that had me hooked to the end. I loved how she brought Kristian and Laura Turley and her daughter Ailith, together. I could not put this book down even if I wanted to, I read it in two days. The sex in this story was beyond hot too.

This book handles the delicate subject of abuse that could be a trigger for some readers. Laura and Ailith move to a small town in Scotland and move in with her mom Wenn, where Laura helps her run the farm "New Beginnings". Laura and Ailith meet Kristian in a bookstore when they go to Glasgow. He was there with his Aunt Lise, he ran into them as he was wandering around the store. It was love at first sight for him, she was not sure of him at first he was a tattoo artist and was pretty scruffy.

I have never read a book on abuse and it really opened my eyes for signs to look out for. This is the third book in the Believe series but it can be read as a standalone. I look forward to reading more books by her.

This is a true and beautiful love story. And very sexy too. Kristian is hot and the details of what he can do to Laura....Oh my! Those details make your imagination run wild and will make you not only think but know that he has so many hidden skills we don't even get to read. I like the union and care between the horses and the humans in this book, it makes you feel at ease. Also, a good thing is that the setting takes place the majority of the time at a farm but it is not enough for the author to tell you, she makes you feel that serene emotion like if you were there, safe and relaxed. There are a lot of deep emotions in this story that are new to the characters and a lot of healing taking place too, and Kristian and Laura take them on like champions. Just with the way and patience that Kristian treats Laura and her daughter with such fierce dedication, will earn your heart. Reading this book is a touching romantic journey, as simple as that.

There is just something beautifully different about Karen Ferry writing, she does broken soul's with such warmth and emotion, and a Time To Learn was another glorious page turner, as wonderfully addictive as Make Me Believe and Fool for Love. If I could describe these two characters it would be 'patient' (Kristian) and 'strong' (Laura). You could feel the emotion seeping from the pages, especially when faced with Laura's troubled past.

Well done Karen x

Amazing just does not seem strong enough of a word for this novel. Nor do I feel five stars is enough. I give this novel 100 stars if I could. This is hands down one of the best novels I have read in a long time. I finished it a few days ago but honestly found myself having to really think about how I was going to put into words what I thought of this novel and how it made me feel. Karen Ferry is a new author to me, this novel was suggested by a friend to read. I am so very thankful that she did.

This novel tugged at my heart is so many ways. While there is no really dramatic moments directly in the novel there is so much in Laura's past. Right from the first page you get pulled into Laura's story, you can not help but think about what had happened to lead her on her way home with her young daughter and best friend. There are some very serious and terrible things that are mentioned from Laura's past thought out the novel. I find that I am usually not into novel that have things such as this in them. But Karen has written this novel is such a way that while you know that Laura has suffered though abuse in her past it is not the center of the story. She brings spousal abuse and being a survivor up without really having to go into detail about what had occurred. But yet I found that this made my heart break for Laura and anyone who has or is in the same situation.

I found myself rooting for Kristian once we decided that he wanted Laura and that he would stop at nothing to not only have her but to keep her. He is just what both Laura and her young daughter needed. I even found myself getting mad at Laura when she "friend-zoned" Kristian. The story of how Laura allows herself to finally let Kristian in and allows herself to let go is wonderful to follow. It makes you hope that anyone who has lived though things like Laura had gets to find a love like that of Laura and Kristain.

And who didn't swoon for the things that Kristian does and says when it comes to winning Laura over. I found myself wishing for my very Kristian. I wont go into to much detail but he falls hard for both Laura and he daughter and will do anything for them. We also get to see into his past and find that he has his own heartbreaks and sadness that he needs help healing from. Together they do a wonderful job of putting each other back together.

I loved how this novel grabbed me and made me fall for the stories of not just the main two characters but that of the others that together make this story whole. I really want to get into some of the other stories that where opened in this novel. Also nothing makes me happier then when a author will give us a glimpse into the future of the couple that they have just made us fall in love with. Karen not only does that but gives us more them one look into what occurs in the years that follow for this couple.

This novel brought me to the brink of tears not one but a few times. They where both sad and happy emotions. How can you not fall for a story that is able to draw such emotion from you? I will be suggesting this novel to everyone I know as a must read. And if you are reading this review and wondering if this novel is for you, I will tell you that it most certainly is a novel that you should take a chance on. I have to go now and find myself some more novels by this author as this one has me hooked!

4.5 Stars! - Karen Ferry serves up another electric romance with Laura and Kristian’s heartfelt story in Time to Learn. Having both experienced their share of heartache, Laura and Kristian made for a deliciously angsty duo and I thoroughly enjoyed unraveling them over the course of this novel. Karen Ferry crafted a fantastic dynamic with this couple, their age difference and seemingly opposite personalities laying the groundwork for an utterly enthralling push and pull between them. Laura and Kristian’s chemisty was obvious and heady, but it was their undeniably deep connection that kept me riveted to the pages. I loved exploring Laura and Kristian’s world and found myself falling hard and fast for this perfectly matched and beautifully broken pair. My heart shattered and repaired itself several times over as I read this story but in the end Karen Ferry left it absolutely bursting and totally content.

I loved Laura and everything that this character represented. Karen Ferry wrote this character to exemplify strength and courage in a way that is rare and decidedly profound. I adored how fiercely Laura loved her daughter and couldn’t help but admire everything that she had endured in life. Her determination and general positivity made it impossible not to love this heroine and I found myself invested in her happily ever after in no time at all. Kristian on the other hand, took a bit more time to understand but I was constantly surprised by his words and actions. As Karen Ferry exposed this man to the reader, I found myself connecting with him in unexpected ways and eventually, falling head over heels for his particular brand of charming. I definitely wanted a little more depth from Kristian, a closer look at his past and the history that shaped him into the man he was, but overall I thought he was pretty swoon-worthy.

Time to Learn was beautifully written, effortlessly showcasing the author’s incredible growth. Driven more by emotion than action, there was a simplicity to the storyline that really grabbed me. Karen Ferry expertly incorporated the colorful nuances and intriguing legends of the Scottish setting to create a fictional world that was as vibrant as it was addictive. Time to Learn was bursting with brilliant imagery and drenched in raw feeling, ensuring that the reader was wholly captivated by Laura and Kristian’s journey. While this story was a bit slow to start, I found myself enchanted by not only the hero and heroine, but by the lovable secondary characters as well. Ailith was truly one of a kind and helped reveal a lot about Laura as a character. Karen Ferry also had me totally hooked on Trish and Alex and I can’t wait to see them again in the future. Laura and Kristian’s story is sweet, thoughtful and full of feels. A great new addition to the believe series, Time to Learn is another hit from Karen Ferry!

My fourth read by Ferry and, what I consider to be, her hottest erotic scenes to date in this story of fractured hearts being healed by a kindred spirit.
I always enjoy Ferry's books, they're well written and flow well, and I particularly loved the older woman/younger guy dynamic with Laura and Kristian's story. After escaping a horrific past full of domestic abuse, Laura returns home to Scotland to the peace and tranquility of her mother's farm, where they rehabilitate retired or injured horses. Ferry has a great ability to set a scene, the horses, Thunder in particular, feeling as important as some of the minor human characters in this tale. You could really feel the calming atmosphere of the farm and that it wasn't just human's helping animals heal, but their trust and unconditional love helped their owners too. Kristian, having left Denmark and a girl who'd broken his heart, wasn't looking for love, but the chemistry he felt with Laura drew him into her life and brought out the noble, and swoon worthy, protector in him. They were a perfect fit and I loved the journey they went on, and how he embraced Laura's past, along with her daughter, making them feel safe and protected from the horrors they'd experienced. While I don't enjoy dark reads, which this definitely wasn't, I would actually have loved a little more insight into the abuse Laura suffered. To have that deep emotional, and shocking, backstory detailed, would have made the journey of growth and change from a woman who'd been beaten down and had almost given up on her future, to one prepared to open her heart again all the more satisfying. All in all though, a beautiful love story full of hope that despite the challenges life throws at you, everyone deserves some happiness. A solid 4.5 stars from me, with Ferry definitely becoming one of my go to authors for future releases.

FLAVIA'S REVIEW
3.85 STARS

This is the first book I have read by the author. It was interesting and different. That being said, let's talk the good, bad, and ugly of the book. And there is no ugly to discuss about it so we can skip that one.

The Bad-
Now, this may be hard to believe for some, but it was the sex. The first scene or two was hot. Very steamy. However, there was so much going on when it started that at times it felt like it was every other page. I found it harder to see the actual growth of Laura and Kristian's relationship through all of the sex. I actually found myself wondering if it shouldn't be classified as erotica because of how graphic it was at times.

The Good-
I really liked the storyline and the whole idea behind it. Kristian and Laura are two rather broken people with baggage lined up behind them due to their pasts. But finding each other is the beginning to healing and moving forward with their lives. They're good for each other.

It was an intriguing read. I love horses and horse farms so I really liked that about the book too. I found it strange that a tattoo artist hooks up with a woman living in a very rural setting. It's almost like The City Mouse and The Country Mouse in that respect. But it totally works!

***5 AMAZING STARS!***

You wouldn't believe how long I've waited for this book to release!! OMG I can safely say it's SO worth the wait!! #Swoon.....

As you know we met Kristian briefly in MMB the 1st book of the Believe Series... (Each book is a standalone.)

I was so thrilled to get to know Kristian more, guess what?? He's my new favourite Alpha from this author's books..... Seriously I kid you not.... Strong Alpha Male, Tattoo artist, Sexy & Hot! *coughs* My dream guy!!!

Laura and her daughter Ailith, OMG I love these 2... Laura is just a strong woman dealing with her own issues & trying to give her daughter and herself a new start living back home with her mother. I just love the relationship between these 3 generations.

All I can say is that I absolutley LOVE the way Kristian & Laura meet!!! OMG I just smiled so hard!! Seriously I could have cried too but I held on as I was in a public place! Yeah could have waited till I got home right?? Nah!

Karen Ferry in my eyes just gets way better in her writing, honestly I love her writing style and the words just flow... Thank you Karen for giving us Kristian & Laura's story.

Time To Learn (Book 3 Believe Series)
by Karen Ferry

☆☆☆5 stars☆☆☆

This was a beautiful story of two lost and beaten down souls, finding their way again, together. They faced many heart aches and loss, but realized love is worth the struggle, and where there's tragedy, there's redemption.

Kristian was a man on a mission, to get this woman he craves more then anything to see what he sees in her. He never gave up, and with that came many obstacles to face, but it was worth it, and the sexy time was over the top hotness! Laura is headstrong, and has her daughter to worry about, and only wants what's best for her. She knew her feelings for Kristian were real, but her past brought on insecurities and made her leery of giving her heart to another man.

If you've ever faced what Laura had faced, or even if you haven't, you find yourself full of sympathy and love for her. She's been through hell, and came out on top. The epitome of a strong willed woman, and I admire her so much. Amazing story of taking your life back into your own hands, and not letting your past rule your present.

Laura and her daughter Ailith lives with her mother on the family farm rehabilitating horses. A safe haven compared to what she once knew. The kind of place that heals humans and animals alike, which is just what Laura and her daughter needed.

But with fate playing a heavy hand, someone new was about to enter this families circle....someone who was about to stir emotions in Laura she never expected to feel again. Promised herself she wouldn't put herself through again.

Excerpt:
You healed me, Kristian. You stormed into my life and made me see you and your beautiful soul before I ever allowed you to see me.

Kristian was a kind and gentle soul, and exactly what Laura needed. He made her feel desired and beautiful, and in turn, she gave him what he needed. Love and compassion through his hurt. A beautiful story of healing, destiny, forgiveness and hope. This story really is all about New Beginnings and was simply beautiful to read with lots of seriously steamy scenes too!

I really really loved this book it was by far was my favorite out of the series so far.

When 2 broken people come together and help each other heal and put the pieces of there hearts back together again and learn to love again you can't help but feel as if your on this journey with them. As you learn about Laura and Kristian's past you can't help but fall in love with them, you feel there hurt and feel the love that they feel when they start to mend eachother!

With hot panting melting sex scenes that make your pulse jump and your temperature rise you also have moments were you are laughing so hard and other moments were your about to cry because your so happy for them!!!

I hope that Karen will give Ailith her own book I would love to see her all grown up and find love of her own!

Thank you for writing a book that so many people need to read, to know that you can find love after being broken.

I have been a fan of Karen Ferry’s since she came out on the scene and I love her take on romance because it isn’t all sunshine and roses… it’s raw and can get really dirty to get to your happily ever after. I think that is what I really enjoyed about Time to Learn. The characters have such a history that when they clash it takes a very interesting twist through the story.
As always, the passion in Ferry’s stories are brilliantly written with an amazing class about them. There is also a great blend of angst and little twists that make it a page turner. I really enjoyed the concept of this story and left you wanting more. I am super stoked we finally got Kristian’s story as he really intrigued me in Make Me Believe. So to have him in the forefront was perfect! As for Lauren’s character, I love how strong she is but she is also very vunerable at the same time. Overall, this is a great addition to the series!

Arc provided by author...

As a fan of Karen Ferry I knew that Time To Learn would be an amazing story. This beautiful love story is about two people Laura who has a difficult past with her ex husband and now her and her daughter are now living with her Mom on a horse farm. Kristian who moved after having his heart broken. A trip to the book store, a stop at a tattoo shop, and Kristians Aunt buying a horse from Lauras farm are all the fate that lead to these to broken people to fall in love. I loved how neither pushed the other to talk about their pasts and we're patient with each other. I also loved the relationship that Kristian develops with Lauras daughter. If you read this amazing story I know that you will love it just as much as I have.

This is another fantastic book from Karen Ferry, she never disappoints me! Time To Learn is the third book in the Believe series but can be read as a standalone. It is a beautifully told story of how two people, broken by their past, can come together and help each other heal. As usual, Karen Ferry puts so much life into her characters and I fell in love with Laura and Kristian straight away. Their heartfelt and emotional journey had me hooked and I couldn't put it down - I do not want to say too much though because of spoilers! But Time To Learn is sexy, heart breaking, uplifting, romantic and I loved it. I can't recommend this book, or the entire Believe series, enough.

A magical, sweet journey of two different people bound to get to know each other had the circumstances been others. Laura is healing from a past that changed her in more than one ways, she bears the scars proudly, though. Kristian is a man who decided to drown his unhappiness making decisions not all of us would agree with. In the meantime, Ailith and Thunder will teach us bonds formed with love, patience and care. Time to Learn is all what the title implies, the moments we fall, we stand up again, while falling for a tattoo artist whose maturity is beyond his years, and a heroine whose journey in love has but just started. A fantastic story carved by the talented Karen Ferry and a great Scottish setting.
