A riveting guide to the energy that surrounds us and how tuning into the power of frequencies can help us heal ourselves, and the planet.
Can you feel it? Energy is Everywhere.
From the light, sound, and electromagnetic waves that flow all around us to the intricate electrical networks that flow through us, energy is a frontier as exciting as it is uncharted. Every year new science suggests that harnessing the extraordinary power of these invisible frequencies may be the key to a variety of innovations to improve our health and wellbeing, and to repair our struggling ecosystems.
In Tuning into Frequency, the minds of Sputnik Futures explore cutting-edge discoveries from doctors, physicists, healers, ecologists, technologists, and thought leaders and explore how we can employ frequency to improve not only our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing, but the health of the planet.
For example, did you -That your heart and your brain share an electromagnetic field? -That trees can talk to each other? -That sound can heal the body? -That color affects your mood? -That the sun can help fight depression?
With expert voices, bold discoveries, and engaging visuals, this entry in the captivating Alice in Futureland series is a riveting guide to the forces that energize our bodies, our minds, and the planet.
This is essentially a summary of a huge amount of info on seemingly anything related to the term "frequency". I think it would nearly impossible not to find a tidbit of helpful info here, although readers may have to wade thru a lot of it to find some. It obviously depends on the reader. The info here is really a jumping-off point since it doesn't provide a deep dive on any of the many topics and modalities included. In most cases, there is not a lot of scientific backup for the info, partly because there often isn't much. I didn't find a lot of info I could apply, but I learned few things, and found much of it interesting. 3.5 stars.
What a gorgeous book! Very visually appealing. The information was a bit overwhelming and will probably require another read but was wildly fascinating. Thank you Goodreads for the free giveaway copy!
"Tuning into Frequency" is a collection of information about present and future applications of our growing understanding that everything is basically energy. They covered topics like acupuncture, reiki, PEMF and some of the scientific studies about how they work. They talked about how whales communicate through song, flowers react to the wing beats of bees, and other nature-related communication. They explored the science behind using light therapy and color therapy for healing and some information about biophotons. They talked about using music and chanting for healing (including white noise, pink noise, binaural beats, ultrasound, etc.) and about electroceuticals for drug delivery and mood enhancement. They also got into things like cold fusion and other alternative energy sources, lucid dreaming, psychic abilities like remote viewing, and mystical experiences.
They explained the theory about how these things work and mentioned scientific studies when they're available. I've been hearing a lot lately about "we are all energy beings" but I did not understand what some of that was based on. This book helped answer my questions about these ideas even though some of them are still very speculative. Overall, I'd recommend this interesting and informative book to those interested in these topics.
I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
I liked this book! It could be a bit overwhelming at times with its flood of information so I read it bit by bit over a couple of weeks but it filled my mind with ideas I hadn’t thought before but also resonated with me deeply. I already believed in energy frequency but was thrilled to learn more about the types and things I could try to bring myself more into balance with the world. I already practice earthing/grounding when the weather is appropriate but I think after reading this I will try to do so more frequently and spend some more time outside if I can bring and convince myself to do so. Going outside is hard when you have raging anxiety. This book both gives hope and offers a grim future of vibrational interruptive technologies in the future which I find both scary and but not surprising. Humans always find some way to be discordant with nature but maybe with knowledge and intention we as a species can do better.
Also, at the books suggestion I tried out the NoiseZ app and found it calming to listen to before bed last night, I think I will continue with it as well when I’m anxious as well (I can also listen to the song that was suggested that calms people down although I can’t remember exactly what it’s called at the moment of writing)
I won a copy of this one in a Goodreads Giveaway. I think my biggest complaint is how heavily they rely on Wikipedia as their source material. Jeez - if you're going to do that, at least use the sources cited on Wikipedia instead of highlighting your lazy researching. You may be wondering why, then, if this is such an issue for me, that I would rate this four stars anyway? Well, because let's face it, the material is fascinating. There are some fun ideas that can be used as writing prompts, which should really give kiddos something to have fun with.
This book is a very interesting and comprehensive discussion of all kinds of frequencies and how they affect our bodies. The book was more scientific than I expected, but I appreciated how the authors connected cutting edge science with how we humans feel, heal, and function. These concepts nicely connected "unseen" forces - such as sound, light, and electric waves - to how life actually works.
I listened to this as an audiobook. It felt like someone just googled a hodgepodge of information and, although that information should have interested me, it fell flat. 2.5 stars
